Just because something has the same chassis, a sport sedan it is not. Yes, outside of the V models, the CT5 is just a sedan. I feel this way about everything out there. Mercedes and BMW outside of the AMG or M series are just sedans.
-
I see no mention that this is a SPORT sedan, just a sedan and for most sedan buyers, a couple seconds difference is not going to make that big of a difference to buyers. Let me know when the V-Sport shows up and then we can talk about that time again.

There are some, a smooth flowing dash is what I like, but lately we seem to be in a retro mode of dashes in the auto industry or the coccoon dash where each person is isolated from the other front seat person with intruding plastic into your leg area. I am hoping with the push of EVs, we will see some new 21st century designs and move the segment forward. Holden had some very nices dashes for a while. I see no reason that the center storage unit between the front seats needs to connect to the dash and eat up leg room. I will say that this is better than others out there as the leg space eating center unit is smaller than others.

Could easily see a interior refresh maybe next year as a model 2021 for 2020, otherwise I figure it will stay for the next 5 to 7 years and then on the new model get redone to match the family.

Ya did not snap a pic with your phone? ? Interesting when you search for WWII Philippine trucks the stuff that comes up. I think the Japanese copied much from America. -
Exterior I like allot, very nice and clean and should do well in this category. Agree with Drew that the interior is very much 1950's spaceship retro. Yet with that I will disagree with the excellent write up above as I am not a fan of this dated dash with a 21st century iPad shoved in the center. To me this is a dated look with a forced 21st century tech piece shoved on it. @smk4565 Honestly, people who have never been in a Fusion or know anything about it will not even know that some of the lower plastic trim pieces might be from a Ford. Yet at this price point it is much better than the competition out there. Be it European, Asian or American, plastic on the lower trim area to take the beating of shoes is pretty much the norm here. Over all I think this will do very well and should help Lincoln on their road back to Luxury competition.

In all my SUVs with the auto climate control, I have tested just that thought and barely got a 10th of MPG more driving with it off. Maybe due to the big V8 engines I have and the AWD system, turning off the AC auto climate control does not seem to make a difference. Even in my Daughters 99 Durango 4x4 with the 5.9L V8 on or off makes no real difference in how it consumes gas it would seem. I know in my parents Delta 98 Station wagon when we went to visit relatives in LA, we would turn off the AC going over the Grapvine into LA as it made a noticable difference on MPG plus over all power and I think this was a real issue on 70's and 80's auto's. Now with the big powerful engines and use of more electric assist parts, I do not see any difference on either a true 4x4 or AWD auto's.

WHO CARES other than badge snobs. People buying either the BMW or Cadillac models you state are not buying them as race cars and most people cannot tell the difference between 1 or 2 seconds. I honestly see no issue with a car that reaches 60 in 5 to 8 seconds as it is quick compared to most other cars. The bigger thing is does it feel that it gets up to highway speed quick and if that feel is there in the seat of the pants with the right luxury interior and isolation from road noise, then the auto is a success that most people will like.

https://cars.usnews.com/cars-trucks/rankings/used I agree with @smk4565 US News has a pretty good database of used auto's.

No, I use chrome, opera and firefox and they all have it. Maybe it is a permission thing since I have writer privilege for the site. @Drew Dowdell could answer that best I believe.

Agree, I think with Fords debt, that price gouging will be a reality.

Computer and hardware purchase question - help

Why only 6 to 12 months then, might as well go to Dell Outlet and get a refurb with their normal same as new warranty but at reduced price. Dell Outlet -
I know that a number of relatives that live in the greater LA area that used to have Prius's have dumped them and want nothing to do with them since the accelerator issue. Yet with that said, even though we all know about the Toyota Frame Rot and the terrible built FJ Unibody breaks, for some weird stupid reason, Americans seem to be willing to accept the repairs that Toyota did and buy again. I honestly do not know how you could accept a $50,000 new CUV you take off road, and the front nose cracks and so they cut it off, insert steel rods and weld the aluminum back and say here is a 36,000 mile extended warranty. Nope, not gonna happen as that weight bloat and now weakened auto is not gonna handle off road like it should.

I agree that I also do not see why not to sell it being assembly is so close to home. Yet I also understand if the dealers feel the profit levels and what the customers are wanting does not justify this. I still think they should allow customers to order them if they want and wait to get it built and shipped in.

Great read, and I totally agree on the front end Tesla look. The back end is just bland and a real bummer to hear that the interior has gone backwards. I also will say that I would take a gas slurping 4 banger over an over worked turbo 3 banger any day. I get the feeling that Ford thinks they can move everyone to more expensive trucks and eventually kill off the Escape. Yet with that said, not everyone especially thoughts just starting out can afford a $50,000 auto and so this should be the starting out auto at a reasonable price with reasonable interior. A hard cheap Tupperware plastic interior is not it.

Your welcome, I totally agree, I like the separation with the cool chimes. Cadillac should dump the GM traditional noise makers and have a luxury inspired sounds.

Yup the lemming factor, not a bad thing to build consistent long range profits on. Demming and Druker said not all things built to appeal to the masses is a bad thing. One cannot fault the masses giving them Billions of dollars. GM and others should have focused on that long ago. Yet GM has under Marry really moved in that direction, just gonna take a few generations to change the perception.

Yup, Family consistency in the dash, just done better this time around with contrasting colors. I can find the same thing in MB, heck just about any European auto, Asia is where you find the really weird contrasting dash shapes.

Yup, Escalade and GL you can find off road all the time in the PNW, but I truly believe that is the exception not the norm for the bulk of buyers.
