Industry News: SAIC Puts Their U.S. Plans On Hold
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
Trumpchi? I see the lawsuits already on that name. Be interesting to see how many hold off on the US market due to the irrational behavior of our current government.- 15 replies

Fiat News: Marchionne Considers Spinning Off Jeep and Ram
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
True, they are and will always be a catch up company. I just think that to survive since anyone with any common business sense would never get in bed with FCA, will end up spinning off groups to survive.- 33 replies

Fiat News: Marchionne Considers Spinning Off Jeep and Ram
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Fiat
As I posted in this write up, Jeep has a Plugin Hybrid 3 row SUV they will build for the China Market first. I can see this coming to the US once they are satisfying the gov in China for Plugin Hybrid or EV sales. True, I agree with you but idiot Sergio seems to only be able to look at short term solutions.- 33 replies

Spinning off Jeep / Ram might be the only way for FCA to stay alive and keep the rest of the company going in the short term.- 33 replies

We'll I can see why the Mustang is selling more than the Camaro. They are advertising more. I was unable to really find any advertising and had to resort to searching for Camaro in China and finally found this. So yes, FORD would sell more mustangs than Camaro as GM is doing what they always seem to do, piss poor marketing of a product. But then as Drew says, they are selling fists of Buicks and other auto's, the Camaro is just a blimp on their radar that is not too important.

LOL, Both are lovely SUVs, different uses, but the TB SS has the rear just a few inches higher, big meaty tires and the borla exhuast that just rumbles. The whole thing has that right balance of performance with I dare ya look.
-
Any time, Just had my Trailblazer SS touched up after some jerk keyed the drivers door. Lucky for me the guy I use is also the guy that touches up all used auto's at the cadillac dealership. They do awesome work and the door is flawless again. He also touched up a few chips on the front so for a 2008 SS with 113K miles, it looks like new. Still love how fast it moves for a Corvette based SUV.

I understand, I love to test drive auto's even though I cannot afford to buy. Still very fun and even the base BOLT still has the sport mode. So I have to say you get allot for $29,995 after federal tax credit.

Interesting and a good idea as a subsection. Nice!

gmc 2017 GMC Acadia - Denali or All-Terrain, what would you choose?
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in GMC Trucks
Awesome, thank you, greatly appreciate the link. -
Agree, with 400K reservations, if they role out a piss poor product that has issues, I am not so sure the public will be as forgiving as the buyers of their Model X were with the problems. As stated in many articles, the buyers of the Model S and Model X expect things to not be perfect due to being more concept or alpha / beta stage of auto but still do expect it to be fixed down the road. Tesla 3 could hurt them more than help if they do not have it solidly baked before selling.

Brandy does go well especially with the Dark Cherry. Very much a Wine Guy and these colors do line up with wine so well. Ya know I also noticed that GM is standardizing on the shifter for both ICE and EV auto's, this will make it easy for people to move between the auto types. Smart.
-
If you have some spare time, I highly recommend test driving a BOLT. Especially in Sport Mode. Wife loved regular mode but the added punch you get in sport mode makes it one quiet but powerful pocket rocket of fun.

gmc 2017 GMC Acadia - Denali or All-Terrain, what would you choose?
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in GMC Trucks
The video was great in bringing out what you stated for us. Thank you Question, how does this compare to Jeeps GC AWD system? Do we have any comparisons or know how it stacks up? -
Yes, but would that not be a duplication of the alternative fuel and propulsion forum section we already have? I was thinking a conversion group would be cool? Sub group of the original alternative fuel and propulsion section where we could discuss converting ICE to CNG or ICE to EV, etc.? Thoughts?

gmc 2017 GMC Acadia - Denali or All-Terrain, what would you choose?
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in GMC Trucks
Drew, I noticed the Advanced AWD Dual Clutch system on the All-Terrain, but have not found much more on explaining the differences. Have you access to a better explanation of the differences between the two AWD systems? Only thing stated on the web site: Specially tuned AWD for off-road and multi-terrain environments to enhance handing and stability Weird, doing multiple Bing and Google searches I found vague comments on their advanced AWD system for the All-Terrain system. Then I copied and pasted the line from their web site and boom, BING actually listed the following page for the All-Terrain AWD system. VERY COOL http://www.gmc.com/gmc-life/suvs/testing-the-2017-acadia-all-terrain.html -
wow, did not know this and had not heard this. Amazing, guess his Alpha type personality does not mesh with others well.

2017 GMC Acadia - Denali or All-Terrain, what would you choose? As I have spent time with my son looking at various CUV models, I cam across the new Acadia and learned they had a monochromatic version that I think is very sharp looking. GMC has built a very nice profitable line by offering Denali on every model they make. Yet not everyone likes Chrome all over. So this brings up the desire to see what people think. I configured up two near identical CUVs with the only difference being the All-Terrain package on an SLT2 equipped Acadia and the Denali package on an SLT2 equipped Acadia. What are your thoughts? Review the two listing autos below and sound off on what you think of monochromatic off road or chromed on road CUV! 2017 GMC Acadia Denali 2017 GMC Acadia All-Terrain

They had mentioned during one of their media presentations that Hybrid could be considered but have not committed to it or have I found any update on their EV / hybrid strategy in regards to the pony car. I could see a 300 HP 350 lbs ft torque rear wheel drive pony car. I can also see this being double the numbers in AWD form.
-
It was probably the base ford explorer or at best xlt. Both drive like a pig compared to the Sport. If you get a chance, drive a sport Explorer. Handles very well.
-
Could be why he is not married yet.
-
Agree with what you say about the Explorer. Having test drove them with my son and family. It was interesting to see that the XLT and Platinum are bigger compared to the Sport model. Sport and Platinum both have the turbo V6 but clearly interior size and exterior is different. Even the sales person pointed this out, you want more room inside, XLT or Platinum. Want fun factor but with less interior and exterior size, you go sport. Was interesting, but after then going and test driving the Jeep GC, I would take the GC over the Explorer or MDX, but take the Explorer in Platinum over the MDX. I can understand the need for a 3rd row. Must be the difference in size of family members.
-
I would have to disagree as the two would be cross shopped and based on my own personal experience, I could never recommend the CX-9. If you want to understand why, read my review on it. Jeep Grand Cherokee is far better than either the MDX or CX-9.

@A Horse With No Name Thank you, I do like the new Enclave. I found my two favorite colors for the exterior are Black Cherry Havanna Metallic Interior colors of the 4 they offer I pass on the all black and Cashmere and go for: Brandy Or Chestnut Gotta say I like what I am seeing for Buick.

@oldshurst442 @A Horse With No Name @Drew Dowdell So guys, how long before we see the first EV pony car? Will it be a hit or not? Will it be a plugin hybrid? What do you think the Torque / HP numbers could be?
