Chevrolet News:Rumorpile: Dont Fret. A New Camaro Z/28 is Coming
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
The story is spot on, Ford as it stated has built an outstanding motor and yet there is so much more to it than just the Crank. So many other far more important parts that contribute to the performance than just the over hyped / marketed Crank. -
Cool, looking forward to seeing a pic or two of the final work.

WOW, Talk about a Range Rover that got stepped on and is now squished! Also MINIMALIST, you can say it with me. CCAP and all the other electric touch feedback haters of Cadillac will really hate this MINIMALIST dash. Everything is pretty much touch screen like a Tesla with only a couple dials. Seems the day of the buttons, switches, dials, etc. have truly come to an end with Range Rover. Over all, really does not look much bigger than the Evoque on the interior. Be interesting for those 2 extra inches to see how well this will sell and what peoples reaction will be to the dash.

Plus MB does this across their product range on their modular platform from Cheap Eco box's to their luxury level, so why should GM not also maximize basic foundation investments in the platform. They already are night and day different in style, interiors, etc. -

Are you afraid that Chevy just might actually make a real push into being a complete competition with your vaunted MB? After all Cadillac is focusing on pure Luxury only something MB used to do only in the US, but MB is no different than Chevy in Europe. As such, if MB can play in the 20K market, why not Chevy in the 100K market or higher? No reason not to make Chevy a truly Global brand that covers from Eco entry to luxury just like MB. -

Denali has Made GMC a mid luxury brand. Many people I talk to when you ask them about GMC, they say yea Denali, it is the luxury brand of Chevy products. I hear this more and more. Lincoln wants to be a luxury brand but right now pretty much just an overpriced rebadge job of Fords.

forbes Forbes List of 15 Auto's to Avoid

Your missing my point, Not everything in life should require training, but some things and Auto's are a big one should always include training. Too many IDIOTS are out there driving their auto not knowing how to turn things on, off, use them proper or drive at the proper speed. I cannot tell you how many fogged up auto's I see being driven when if the idiots would turn on their defrost, they would have clear windshields. Sadly people seem to be too stupid during snow to clear all their windows. EV driving in regen mode with paddles does require training even if you do read the internet. This is why the BOLT will be a success and failure. Success as in ICE mode, it requires use of the brake, but for those in pure EV mode, you get regen and must use the steering wheel paddles. Training of the sales people properly so they can then properly demo and explain it to potential buyers should be a requirement I hope by GM before someone tries to sell the auto. Success comes from training and for those that think they never need training, I can show you less productivity, less performance and less ability to excel. Again, Training on major things like an auto is needed and should be required. I get it that it is not needed on TV's, and many other basic things, but an Auto, yes I think they are needed today due to the complex nature of the auto. -

Everything always needs training and with EV's Auto companies are going to have to train their sales people on how you drive and use an EV for regeneration and other purposes. We are in a changing world and must keep our mind open to learning and changing. -

Interesting, reading all the comments, all 44 of them, many do not believe the Pushrod will go away. I question the need for DOHC when we have history that proves pushrods can do the same HP with better Torque over DOHC overweight pigs that have high HP and pathetic Torque. I question if this will really happen. As others in the story state in the comments section, a DOHC engine like this makes it top heavy and really changes the dynamics for center of gravity. -
If Lincoln had figured out how to sell a Luxury Pickup Truck rather than the Blackwood Failure, you would also be combining sales. GMC is Fords Lincoln! Your Right Ford outsells Chevy, that is pretty much due to GMC being the Luxury brand of the Pickup Line. If Ford had figured out how to sell at even higher ATP trucks with Lincoln, you would be having Ford with combined truck sales too. You know this is true!

Wish Jeep Compare model would actually allow you to add other Jeep models to compare. Would be interesting to see the 4x4 compass compare to a 4x4 wrangler. Yes one is FWD biased and the other is RWD bias, but still be interesting to compare. Will say that having owned a Wrangler in the past, blast to have for off road fun, but not a daily driver especially in heavy traffic.

Chevrolet News:2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Is Turned Up To 11
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
Hopefully this just means the Performance group will have kits to sell as some care more about boasting about the number than what can actually get to the ground. Course if they are testing with over 1000hp and hopefully 1000+ lbs of torque they will go AWD to make it truly happen. -

I will say that if you have been driving Ford for a long time, then the Ford products become very natural on how they work, same for us that have owned many GM products and gone through the generations of CUE, etc. I would say that Cmicasa and myself have the memory touch of how we interface with our system down and it works just fine. Even when my Dad traded in his pickup truck for a new SRX just before the XT-5 came out Cadillac spent an hour going over everything with them. That is how a knowledgeable salesperson closes out the deal. My parents left knowing how to fully use the CUE. Not had one problem since. I know this is the same for what I believe to be a non-user intuitive system in BMW and MB. If the salesperson does the right thing after selling the auto, they go over the complete system making sure the customer knows how to use it and use it successfully. Take with a grain of salt Auto Journalist who bitch about interfaces when they have spent a week at most with a system that they got zero training on. Now this also brings up that all systems can be far more user intuitive, sadly patents make having standards hard across all auto's when you have a company like Apple that tries to patent swiping a finger across the screen. Some patents sucks, -
Feb 2017 Automotive Safety Recalls These start as of last month and go backwards, 198 current active recalls. Suprising is that Mazda has multiple recalls on every single product they make and some even on products no longer made. Crazy. Also latest Mercedes-benze sure seems to have a bunch of recalls too. Seems that Ford and GM has a bunch of airbag recalls now, same issue that has hit Honda and the rest of the asian OEMS. How is this still not resolved and still an issue even on 2016/2017 models? Auto NXT published the current list, nice job. http://autonxt.net/latest-automotive-safety-recalls/

So your truck's days are coming to an end. Looking forward to seeing pics and hearing about your new Jeep.

Yup, So far, have you ever really paid the price stated? I have never paid the price stated on any auto. The price on KBB gives you a range / ball park price that you can get or pay for something but it does not mean you only pay that price as does everyone else.

Yes, a number can always be assigned, but that does not mean is is a factual in the sand number. Like everything, life is very subjective be it a number on an auto, a expert chef's view on seafood or even polling info on presidents. Someone will always find the info to be subjective and will interpret the results in their own mind. After all the biggest crowds for inauguration happened for the POTUS, they had millions there to see him brought into office.

forbes Forbes List of 15 Auto's to Avoid
G. David Felt replied to G. David Felt's topic in Industry News
Sadly that is a piss poor salesman that needs to be told to learn or shown the door. I hate ignorant sales people who just want to make a quick buck and not actually learn what they sell. Agreed, to disagree. I have to say the most confusing and stupid interfaces is on BMW and MB auto's and they are NOT user intuitive. So before SMK try's to pop in here and say I know nothing, I have spent plenty of time in them and always silently laugh when my coworkers volunteer to drive and how much problem they have driving their own auto usually cause even the sales person who sold it to them never bothered to go over and train the buyer on how to properly use the interface. This happens at all dealerships. For me, I do not have that problem with the CUE interface. -
Not totally, I can look at resale values here in Washington state and VW has piss poor resale and trade in value. Elsewhere it might be higher or even lower. Yes there is the range on the auto, but specific areas especially in a High Tech city like Seattle, VW is considered bottom dwelling auto's and as such, there is very little demand or desire for them. This shows up in how cheap they are to purchase here. Like all auto's even MB, BMW, Cadillac, all resale is subjective to the market forces and the specific areas of where demand might or might not be. Market forces and desires will affect this no matter what KBB or the auto association might say resale prices are.

I understand that, but for me the HVAC controls work fine and neither my wife, my adults kids or I have any problem with using them when driving be it the Escalade, CTS or SRX. -

Guess that would explain why the screen is at the top of the dash so you look to the side and out of your peripheral be able to see what you need, touch the spot, and be looking back. I have never had the problem you seem to describe but we are all different. -
OK, Your gonna have to help out with a side by side photo comparison as I question the exclusivity other than lower production numbers of the auto. Unique touches? Where, as all I see in the existing photo's is the same bland VW formula used in all their other auto's. Greater Potential? Very subjective. Better Resale, maybe. Again very subjective.
