LA Auto Show: Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang: Comments
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
We'll Nice looking car but it reminds me of a Fish. Interior especially the center stack looks FAT, pathetic little screen on what I assume is the radio. Stupid Plastic circle vents showing the cheap side of Ford. Nice but I would not waste money on the car. Actually disappointed in FORD and how they continue to keep with a cheap looking dash.- 8 replies

Interesting, so the holy grail of Land Rover has the ability in the DNA but you are not granted permission to really go off road and use it. Kinda goes with how 99% of them never leave the assphalt so they never really can prove they can handle the off road. Guess they see value like GMC does in building products that can compete with a Rubicon Wrangler.

LA Auto Show: Ford Shelby GT350 Mustang: Comments
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
Interesting engine, Since the Pistons are not at a 90 to each other then this is not a V8 engine but a Flat 8 engine based on the info they supplied. Makes the engine sound very wide but low top. Any pictures of this new Flat 8 Engine? The pictures really do nothing for the auto, be cool to see real pictures of this car and especially the power train. Any idea of what the Transmission will be in this auto?- 8 replies

G. David Felt Alternative Fuels & Propulsion writer www.CheersandGears.com Zero Emission Auto's, are they truly Greener than Gas? Many people here know me as a CNG person. Some will say electric is greener than CNG and Gas. We know CNG is cleaner than GAS, but is pure electric truly greener than CNG or gas? I have talked about how much CO2 is produced during the battery building stage for these pure electric cars. I have also pointed out that in places where Coal is used for creating energy, electric is dirty compared to CNG or Gas. Yes living in the Pacific Northwest, Washington has an abundance of Hydro and wind power, so Electric cars are very green. Even in the south, Southwest where solar is a huge factor, electric is pretty green. Yet once you move to the Midwest and East-coast, Electric auto's become far dirtier than normal gas powered auto's and CNG or Hybrids like the Chevy VOLT are cleaner than electric auto's. Yes you have nuclear in select areas but even than you have the waste from these plants that cause issues. So then are Zero Emission Auto's truly the Green Dream for everyone? Lucky for me, the LA Times finally did a research piece on just this thing and after looking at the history or power use and places that electric cars have been used came to the same conclusion I did that depending on how the electricity is generated, electric auto's can be cleaner or dirtier than gas, cng or hybrid auto's. http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-1117-graff-electric-cars-policy-20141114-story.html 1) The story says by 2019 or half a decade, electric auto's will outsell the Toyota Camry. 2) The story says sales will only grow as long as the $7500 fed subsidy is in place for now. 3) Green all depends on where the electricity comes from. 4) EPA has doubled the fuel MPG by 2025. 5) EPA is developing a clean power plan for electricity production. 6) 100 years ago, electric auto's were the dominate product which was replaced by gas and now it coming full circle to be a dominate player. 7) This is a major push all due to Climate Change. Sound off, do you agree with what is stated here? Yes or No Where do you see electric auto's fitting in? Is there a valid reason to go CNG or Hybrid over electric? Is range anxiety a valid reason or just an excuse? What are your thoughts on a logical progression for the auto industry for powertrains?

Scion iM Concept Released Ahead of LA Auto Show: Comments
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in LA Auto Show
It's not a Prius rebadge. It's a Corolla. Got it, I can see that now that I looked at the Toyota web site, but my initial response is they just rebadged a Prius. Both look like this, talk about bad badging. Body by Prius and Nose by Corolla. Prius 2015 Corolla -

Oh come on, they aren't that much different than the old style. The advantage that the promaster has it that the bumpers are very easy to replace though LOL, Just stating what the guy said to me. I thought it was interesting.

ILX, Honda Badge engineering for charging higher profits while delivering less than stellar results. End it will still be a lame duck. Wasted resources on this whole project. -
Cadillac Files Trademarks for CT2-CT8, XT2-XT8
G. David Felt replied to Cmicasa the Great's topic in Cadillac
This scares me. I hope Johan is not going to make competitors for X1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and whatever SUV Norbert Reithofer dreams of while taking a dump. I can understand that a company would want to cover the whole range and I agree with you that I hope the incoming idiot does not just follow the German Lemmings off the cliff. That would be bad for Cadillac. -

GMC News: GMC's Vice President Dreams of A Wrangler Competitor
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
Wonder how the Denali line up sells against the M or AMG series. Yes Denali is not performance but it is a special trim level, so I have to figure they sell more than those other two overblown trims.- 8 replies

I hope they bring the Hummer Concept to GMC. That was the best solution for a competitive model against Wrangler. Then this for OceanBlu- 8 replies

Looks very cool, So do we need to create a new email based account? I tried my current email in my profile and another one you and I have used to exchange info and neither allowed me to log on. Thanks Drew. Created a new account for now to gain access and play. -
Saw some new ProMaster vans doing deliveries this morning walking to work. I noticed the front corners of the bumper were scratched up. I asked the driver about it as they were brand new and still only had the temp paper plate in the window. The driver said that he and other drivers were hating the new vans as it was really hard from the drivers position to know where your corners were in comparison to the GM or Ford traditional vans. Pretty funny IMHO.

I have read they still have recall issues in Europe and have killed off any plans for diesel anyplace else till they get the recalls sorted out. Clearly their SKyActive Diesel is not so SkyActive friendly. -

Leaked: 2016 Cadillac ATS-V: Comments
G. David Felt replied to William Maley's topic in LA Auto Show
Very True, GM is walking away from heritage in favor of Bean counter mentality of taking an existing path rather than the road less traveled but has better profit. I understand that the Lemmings of Europe have been brainwashed by the socialist pigs of gov to think smaller is better except for the rich class who deserve the bigger is better message. Class warfare if you ever saw it!- 34 replies

Scion iM Concept Released Ahead of LA Auto Show: Comments
G. David Felt replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in LA Auto Show
YAWNNNNNNNN So this will help to dilute it's sister the Prius. Another wasteded R&D exercise. Toyota needs to stop wasting money on Scion and close it down and just focus on Toyota and Lexus. -
The lemming approach to selling auto's has expanded and now they are trying to sell an Idiot version of an over priced Laz-E-Boy Recliner in a car. SMK eat your heart out, this has so much better stance than the M3 from BMW or the AMG line from MB. This is going to be a home run hit for Cadillac.- 34 replies
