Porsche News: Porsche Adds Turbos To 911 Carrera and Carrera For 2017
Nice more HP, underwhelmed in the torque department and the same look they have had for the last 20, 30, no 40+ years? You truly have to be a smart sized person to fit and a hard core Porsche lover as there is nothing special about these cars IMHO.

Autoextremist Drives CTS. Autoextremist Likes CTS.
Nicely written piece, At one time people could not emotionally jump to MB as a luxury maker in comparison to cadillac the brand that all others were measured by. It will take time to overcome this attitude. I personally think it will eventually change and people will see Cadillac as the luxury car maker they see BMW and MB as. In fact I think BMW and MB are tarnishing their luxury label by having their badges compete in the Chevy / Toyota level as well as the commercial truck level with the vans.

Jeep News: Rumorpile: Changes At Jeep Factory Could Open Doors For Wrangler Diesel and Truck
Diesel in both the wrangler and a pickup truck would be awesome. I hope they bring back the Eliminator model. For those that had a chance to drive a Jeep Comanche Eliminator model with the straight 6 engine, that truck rocked.

Why GM should NOT build a DOHC V8
North star was a Good engine, but not a great engine and while it had HP, it is like all DOHC V8 engines lacking in Torque. Why have a bunch of HP that never really gets used and you have to near redline it to get all your torque plus HP. Fact is that the simpler Pushrod engines did the job with much less complexity, easier time in maintenance and over all longer life. I see more DOHC engines needing major repairs and they have not lived 100K let alone 200K miles. No I am not talking about the blah bland 4 banger designs that for the most part are all about MPG and have lack luster get up and go, but the V6 and V8 engines that seem to leave much to be wanted.

2015 Car & Driver Lightning Lap at VIR: Z06 and CTS-V Effin KILL IT!!!
Kinda like how the MB AMG are still a Nazi driven white supremacist focused auto. To superior for anyone but white people to drive or own and was clearly passed over by the REDNECK MUSCLE CAR! If we were to all slight auto's with preconceived ideas, then you truly only see the superior white race and their auto being the only thing out there. In all honesty this is how we never can move on, no matter how much education should be the great equalizer to allow men and woman to communicate and debate ideas, when you have to use a derogatory comment like this about something that bested your prized MB products, you show a racist attitude that is a shame. When will some of you guys GROW UP and discuss the technology and auto's for what they are WITHOUT having to use slander of this nature. Does it really mater if a person is from the small mountain town or a major city, likes wearing current fashion or is more comfortable in blue jeans and a t-shirt? Is this how you feel about people that do not fit into the norm of hetrosexual society? That if you are not part of the given hetro married crowd you are less than the rest? SMK you need to grow up, drop the name calling and back handed slander and focus on the auto's or move onto another forum. I am tired of you and the MT crowd that CANNOT focus on the passion of the auto's and debate the merits without being so ignorant.

Why GM should NOT build a DOHC V8
Is there any more thought on this thread in regards to the topic of WHY GM SHOULD NOT BUILD A DOHC V8? If Not then I ask the admin to lock this thread and stop the stupid banter of the wasted above page. Thank you,

Mercedez Benz News Mercedes-Benz's R&D Boss Says They're Working On 311 Mile Electric Vehicle
States like Washington have dropped all incentives for CNG and Propane and are focused on Electric and Bio-Diesel. Washington is paying to install 220 or pay 50% for a 440 charger at your house and you do not pay sales tax on an electric auto purchase or any use tax. The only thing you have to pay is a registration fee of $33 dollars a year. This truly makes electric auto's attractive to many people who want a commuter car and local errand auto. As I have stated in other threads, the Chevy Bolt is heavily booked at dealerships here and in the posting I did on the unofficial state auto, you find the the Nissan Leaf, BMW I series of auto's and Tesla sell at over 400% compared to average sales elsewhere. MB would be wise to have an electric competitor to Tesla as the Washington state High Tech industry here is crazy for electric.

Poll: Up votes/Down Votes
Thanks FAP. I typically post news that I believe, key word here, will be of interest to at least a select few. But after being slapped on the wrist from admin here, who appear to have made the decision themselves that the topic(s) I recently posted was primarily PR and not of interest in an automotive site.....I am now a little reluctant to post what I feel is news, unless I can scrutinize if a bit more, so as to be of more interest to a larger crowd. I kind of view that as a shame, because I like to think of sites like these as accumulations of automotive news, that nobody should determine is worthy or unworthy. Am I wrong in this thinking? Does not matter. It is not my sandbox, I only stop in to play on occasion. But, as I said, I am now reluctant to post news, for good, bad or indifferent. Please continue to post and take the high road of ignoring the others. Posting PR from your favorite brand is the right thing to do, NO ONE can cover it all and it takes a village to cover everything. Thank you for your posts in the past.

2016 Cadillac CT6 "Order & Reference Guide; Official Weights Published
They only got to this in the last 15 years or so, before then they were NOT the world leader and many of the Pioneered technology you state was already tested out by GM or other auto brands. MB has mostly up till 2000 followed, not Led the world.

Chrysler News: Chrysler Surprises Dealers With Next-Gen Charger, Barracuda, Grand Cherokee Trailhawk
Or Alfa resurrection is making cars that handle like the 1980's Either way, I think they should have left the name plate in the history books. Dead is dead on this line. No need to bring back their garbage to the world.

Why GM should NOT build a DOHC V8
Thank you Wings! Up Vote 1 for a nice overview of what you do and your take on the OHV versus OHC issue. Like many of us that are engineers, we do have our own view of what we like best and works best and I have to totally agree with you on your comment about younger engineers who should now better about hardware components and yet do not. I have found many of today's mechanics are more parts replacement people than actual mechanics that have the training to troubleshoot and figure out why something is working or not working right. Replacing parts is a small part of the over all picture in what really is the root cause of the complete problem. Engineers seem to be going this route as many out of college are not wanting to put the time in to learn the history and understand the changes that have gotten us to where we are today in technology be it the engines, transmissions or computers that control everything. Hopefully through civil debates online we can open up the amazing world of auto's and the computers used to run them now to a new generation of people that can catch the bug of loving auto's.

Wishing you and your family all the best, Parkinson's, dementia, and Alzheimer seems to be hitting the baby boomers hard. Never fun on anyone and I agree these are not to be wished on anyone even enemies. Education is the great equalizer that allows us to all have our say and still live on this planet together peacefully.

No...not the cup... THE Cup. Never joke about that to a Canadian. Its blasphemy. You might be spitting out some Chiclets if you do. You know why I LOVE this Cookie emoticon the most? Because he may very well be a hockey player... (hint: look at his teeth...or tooth I might say!) If the cup is not filled with wine who cares? No...not the cup... THE Cup. Chrysler News: Chrysler Surprises Dealers With Next-Gen Charger, Barracuda, Grand Cherokee Trailhawk
WOW, that was a hard bottom out at 37 seconds but also the car is just not stable on the road it is all over or I guess they will blame it on the driver who was all over. Nothing like a solid Cadillac, BMW or MB.

Amazing how I love the Platinum fully loaded Escalade which is a better value than a fully loaded Range Rover. I just do not see the appeal of the Range Rover.

Yes a fully loaded Range Rover hits $162,590.00 So they have decided that the signature version of the Model X will compete head on with Range Rover.
