  1. That would be very sad. I like big cars.
  2. I understand, I just like the term. It means a car with more than enough power to me.
  3. Good luck with the '79.
  4. Thanks Knight that means alot to me.
  5. Which is good and a true modern muscle car. Yes V6 and all.
  6. I will see 2.50 again at least I hope.
  7. PCS thanks but the real question is when are you getting a Torrent?
  8. Large cars sales aka Lucerne are slipping but not because it isn't a good car or good looking car because it is. That segment sadly in getting smaller.
  9. Oshawa shouldn't own names like Impala or anything.
  10. I am loving this thing. I might be happy with just a six speed RS with a V6. I don't need a 400hp V8, 300hp would be enough for me.
  11. Well it was only 4,250 some miles. Ted the secret is a bucket full of supplies, tireshine, car wash solution (in a small bottle), rag, and car washing mit. Very patiently fill of the small bucket as many times as it takes to clean the car... Then bring a some spray wax and your all good. Works like a charm. Enjoy 'em guys!
  12. Well thanks for all the kind words. Especially the brochure comment GMC. The purple is growing on my too Von, the price was right and it had my oh-so important chrome PA2 wheels so I figured it was meant to be. As the camera Loki it is a Pentax K-100D (I am almost postive all the photos were taken on that) I also have a Pentax K-10D and a Sony Cybershot H-1. My son shots with the K-100D most of the time or the (wife) my daughter and wife also use the H-1. I did take the photos with the K-100D because I didn't need 10 megapixel car photos and 6 mpg were enough anyways. Thanks for the tip I do understand that but sometimes I was in a hurry other times I was taking my time. Thanks again keep the comments coming. :AH-HA_wink: By the way GMC I love sharing and **cough cough showing off** my American cars...
  13. For its price point yes very impressive. It will kick cars that cost twice as much a$$es!
  14. Guess what Pontiac's are still selling. Gee I wonder what brand I'd cut. If they cut Hummer I could careless. Saturn and Saab should stay a while longer but after those two it would be hard for me to see Buick, Chevrolet, GMC, Pontiac or Cadillac go those are the brands I grew up with along with Olds.
  15. Thats all folks... That is my vacation and if that isn't Pontiac Excitement what is...
  16. Well as some of you had noticed I was absent from regular posting sometime. I promise I am making up for it with some amazing Torrent photos from my vacation. Many were taken in the Tetons, others on the Beartooth HWY, and a few in South Dakota in Custer State Park. Another few odd balls were thrown in that I liked. Enjoy them and if I do say so myself they are some of my best, car photographs ever. 56K be warned there are over 40 of them and I only picked about 1/2 of what I took. Please enjoy leave comments and tell me if they are as good as I say or otherwise. Enjoy and feel free to use as wallpapers etc.
  17. Sweet got any more pics?
  18. My Torrent and Impala are each strippers as I had no money for a stripped LS trim back in 2001 after just doing a home remodel. I wasn't expecting the Olds to $h! out. As for the Torrent it was in my price range and had cruise, cd, cloth, pwr w/l/m, the bigger chrome wheels (a must to match my Bonneville) and because I liked them. I don't consider my Torrent stripped when you list all the features but when consider what options it has just cruise and chrome wheels is light on the option boxes that were checked. As for my Impala it was close to stripped too with a tape deck and cruise no cd or keyless to features I would never now not buy a car with from the current generation of autos. If I was looking at an older model for some reason aka a Turbo 3.8 Buick, or 80's Monte Carlo SS, or 88-91 Bonneville SSE, or 92-93 Fleetwood/Touring Sedan/Deville Spring Edition I wouldn't care so much but on the SSE or Caddy's it prolly would be standard.
  19. No lets take a look at the line-up in 2000... New Aurora just came out, Alero (selling like hot-cakes), Intrigue (only 2 year design with a spunky engine), a new Bravada was on the way, and the Shilloute was recently refreshed and selling pretty solid. While Buick has a new Park Ave, and LeSabre, with a homely Centry that was 3 years old and a decent looking Regal. Gee what line-up was more appealing and had DOHC engines and good interior things most likely important to import buyers. And where did the Olds buyers go not nearly as many went to Buick and Pontiac as hoped. I know many went to Lexus or Toyota. Some to Honda or Acura even a few went to brands like BMW and Volvo. The Aurora and Alero were wonderfully styled cars with class leading interiors. Fact was in 2001 I didn't want an Intrigue because my 90 year aunt had just got one a year eariler. As for the Aurora I like it but wanted a Bonneville more but couldn't afford neither. Then Olds was gone when I went to get my next car the Bonneville.
  20. SMK that is so true Olds never should have gone. At that time I said kill BUICK! And I meant it. When the Lucerne and Enclave came out I began rethinking my previous judgement. But look Pontiac still moved cars above the 250K line a "niche" brand bullsh*t. While the whole industry even Toyota is declining in sales.
  21. Some how you nailed it agian. I agree the new Saab SUV would be perfect for Pontiac. If dealers whine enough they might get a nice rebadge. Which would be fine since most people don't know what a Saab is or looks like unless it is a dorky hatch-back with an ugly grille from the last 70's or early 80's. I think Pontiac holds alot of promise with the NG RWD Impala dead the G8 is it for performance RWD four doors from GM that isn't in a Caddy showroom. Giving Pontiac the RWD G8 and Chevrolet the RWD Camaro made sense to me. I just hope Pontiac gets a new G6 and small car along with a next generation Theta that they deserve. The Pontiac dealer in town (not the one I go too) always has a few Torrents on the lot and sells them along side Nissan Rogues etc. and says they always sell, mostly to younger buyers whom didn't like the Equinox because it was all to common. I found that interesting. And face it an extra 2-4K sales enough for Pontiac is all it takes to justify an inexpensive rebadge and off-of a Saab seems like a no brainer because Saab doesn't have the dealer dist. Pontiac does nor sales.
  22. I know but GM likes to sell products in addition to having competitive ones and profitablity. Honestly I think Pontiac is safe, they have proven themselfs time and time again. With segment busters like the FWD 1987 Bonneville, 1997 Grand Prix, 2000 Bonneville, 2001 Aztek (I know it was ugly but functional), and most recently the Vibe. The G8 is also a pretty good segment buster. Honestly Pontiac deserves a new G6 and FWD or AWD whatever if they give it a design as good as the Malibu's but different it will fly off lots, just give it a manual please. PONTIAC is suppose to be sporty. I would have taken a 5spd. in my Torrent if they had offered one! Pontiac even being product starved aka no new G6 is still doing well. The G5 posts solid number and so has the Solstice and Torrent this year along with the great selling Vibe.
