  1. The greenhouse is one of the biggest factors in what makes this design stand out and work.
  2. Sleek and understated, yet aggressive and unique enough to separate it from the Camaro.
  3. Retro done right, great choice, best of luck with it.
  4. After what we had as the G8, this is a big swing-and-miss if you ask me. That front is so boring, the rear isn't that bad, but overall this totally misses the mark. The Charger need not lose any sleep, not only is it better looking, but the SRT is still packing way more heat.
  5. Glad to see these mags will find a good home and not thrown away.
  6. Welcome to C&G, I like the Grand Am and what you did with the Beretta.
  7. I'm all for C&G continuing to grow and gain more exposure, but on the other hand one of the main reasons I'm still loyal to this site and have been for so many years is because of the sense of community we have. We have a basic core group of regular posters/visitors and the majority of us have been here since the beginning or very early in C&G's life and I fear a whole wave of new members may rock the boat a bit. But I can understand the need to gain more traffic and active members to give fresh ideas and perspectives as well.
  8. I look at the 140 and see next gen Eclipse...the 140 is not exciting or remotely appealing. It looks like any number of blobs from any number of manufacturers in recent years. But the biggest comparison I see from at least a profile shot is Mitsubishi Eclipse. I'll take the 130 and it's Vega-Nova-Chevelle feel anyday over an Eclipse.
  9. Speak for yourself, the Viper is a winner no matter how you slice it, and honestly as an overall package from a design standpoint much more appealing than the Corvette IMO. I'm not taking anything away from the vette, but the new Viper stays true to what the Viper has always been while going way above what was expected in terms of refinement and hopefully quality.
  10. All this technology and innovation, how long before we as people innovate to the point where we become obsolete...
  11. I'm a big fan of the Code 130R and have been since I first saw it. The three box design and retro ( for lack of a better term ) feel to it are what make it stand out. It's a modern Chevelle or Nova. Who in their right mind can complain about a light weight RWD drive coupe in this age of FWD appliances. If the FR-S and BRZ are any indication, not a whole lot...
  12. I feel that we as enthusiasts or rather gear heads are a dying breed. In this age of what's the latest app to download on your phone, and the newest infotainment feature on next year's car model, I see cars becoming more or less an extension of the home PC. Sure it will take years before driving as we know it is gone, but where as cars replacing horse drawn carriages was an expensive, perhaps even scary idea, a future where we are but passengers in our own cars being shuttled around like mindless incapable sheep is even more frightening.
  13. Call me stubborn or single minded, but the thought of where we as nation and world are headed truly leaves me with a sense of dread. I'm 30 years old and I fear where cars will be in another 20-30 years. Between CAFE, increasing use of all these electronic systems like blind spot monitoring this, lane departure that etc etc, and now the prospect of driverless cars....Driving to me, is a right of passage, a sign of growing up and becoming your own person, expressing your desire to choose the car you want, drive to the destination you want, when you want. The ultimate expression of freedom. As cars become more and more computer controlled and us as Human's become secondary to the driving process, that freedom isn't so sweet anymore. I took pride in learning how to drive by the time I was 5 years old, I got a great kick out of teasing my friends about it when they still couldn't even master driving their Power Wheels Bigfoot. I again took pride in passing my road test on the first try with no points deducted and teasing friends about it, then came my first time behind the wheel of my own car by myself...there was no greater feeling in the world at the time. That's something it seems future generations will only read about, and that is truly sad IMO.
  14. There's a nice episode of Jay Leno's garage on the Via site with Lutz and Leno going over the trucks, pretty interesting stuff.
  15. Well Lutz may be on to something afterall, how about a Silverado with 800 HP and 100MPG... http://www.topgear.com/uk/car-news/via-motors-x-truck-concept-2013-01-16
  16. I come from an Italian family, both sides of my family are Italian, and I was raised in a family that only married other Italians for the most part. Most of my father's side of family only came to this country in the 60's and as a result, myself along with my cousins were the first generation born in America. My cousins have all gone on to marry Italians or a mix of Italian and Irish in one case. I however have never dated an Italian woman, and actually my last girlfriend was Iranian and was adopted and raised in a Jewish family. There was always a sense of I was letting my family down by not being with an Italian girl, and I think it stems from the fact that until they came to America, everyone married fellow Italians because they all came from Italy. I personally find myself attracted to all races and cultures, I have no set in stone preference. If the person is beautiful to me, I'm willing to at least get to know them to see where it goes. With that being said, if I were to marry someone who wasn't white, I would probably get some flack from my family, at least the older members of it.
  17. As far as bed lighting goes, the '14 models look pretty tacked on, I mean anyone can wire in lights in the bed like that, the key is to build them into the bed as seen in the GMC concept, and to an extent the Atlas. At least in those two applications, it seems like it was a design feature built into the vehicle from the outset, not a last minute addition which is the sense I get in the new Silverado and Sierra.
  18. Two wrongs don't make a right, the F-150 especially has had the same basic design for a decade now, clearly the Atlas is hinting that the new F-150 won't be all that different either.
  19. I think it's a great step up from the C6, my only major gripe is the black on the rear bumper, it's a little cheap looking and way too much surface area. I agree this car was designed for darker colors, this thing is gonna look sick in black, which will obviously help with the rear bumper. The interior is fantastic, though I find it interesting that both this and the new Viper have the same passenger grab handle integrated into the center stack and console. I also like the subtle homage to the C1 in the grille. I think it took alot of guts to change the rear, especially the taillights so much considering that was the one aspect that really became part of the iconic Corvette legacy. I'm still a little on the fence about the vents in the rear and the fact that it resembles the Camaro now with the lights, but I'm willing to concede I think the taillights are nicer that that of the Camaro, and as for the vents, well again in black or the dark grey this car will look much better.
  20. Cool looking taillights, the rest of the car needs to be burned, especially that Civic front end.
  21. Ugly and dull, nothing to really make it stand out IMO. Edit: Upon looking over the photos again, it looks good from the rear 3/4 shot, I like the swooping character line in the rear, but overall I'm still not wow'ed by it.
  22. Wow I really like it, it's the first CUV since the Enclave was introduced that I would consider buying. I love Lincoln's new full width taillight deisgn on this as well as the MKZ. I feel the front of this is a better execution of Lincoln's new front styling than that on the MKZ though. I especially like the side sculpting bellow the beltline and the wrap around tailgate. I'm very impressed and if the MKZ is any indication, the production model should be pretty close to this when it's released. Good job Lincoln, now where's a RWD flagship?
  23. A 4 door sedan isn't a coupe, this whole trend of calling these cars coupes is stupid. Why weren't 2 door Blazers and Bronco's etc called coupes?
