  1. And on a related note when I was looking for a gorilla dominance fight with another gorilla gif (which I did not find), I came across this gif: Even gorillas dont approve of human behavior. I think she thinks that that human baby is a bad influence on her baby....and she wants her kid to stay the phoque away from that badly behaving human.
  2. Well. I apologize for my behavior in that thread. As for your real life stuff: There are things you could control and there are things that are out of your control. Take care of the stuff the best you can that are in your control and for the other stuff that you have no control over, just dont sweat about it. Manage the things the best you can. And yes, sometimes its best to take a couple of steps back for a day and the solutions just present themselves when you do come back. Taking a step back allows for the brain to reset and you think much clearer that way. As for the thread being locked down. It was the right decision. It was going nowhere fast. Just chest thumping bickering much like gorillas do to show alpha male dominance...
  3. I hope it wasn't because of me in the Cadillac Escala thread... I know I don't help much when I do that and I try to limit that shyte on my end. Its just that I couldn't resist poking him the way he was poking us....and by us I do mean the innocent bystanders having to read that stuff. I was a good boy in that thread up until I responded to him...and I haven't been in trouble with the law in a long time. OK...the crap with El Kabong a couple of weeks had nothing to do with CheersandGears, just a by-product of an old forum that has spilled in here since all of us came over here a couple of years ago He was an all ally at first, but since then he has soured me to the point where I cant tolerate the trolling on his end anymore either! And I just told him what is on my mind. Came clean with my thoughts. Aired out the dirty laundry that he exudes. Glad I got that off my chest. It was like a confession session.
  4. How did I miss this thread? Anyway... In what context do we choose? As a daily driver? As a week-end toy car? As a garage queen trophy display car? Either way, for me, the McLaren is a no! daily driver: Cadillac CTS-V or even the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. week-end toy car: Chevy Corvette Z06 or even the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. garage queen trophy display car: Dodge Viper or even the Dodge Challenger Hellcat. You know what? The Dodge Challenger Hellcat is really the #1 choice for me!
  5. Yeah.....Ive just about had it with retro looks too. Except maybe for the Challenger, I do need a substantial re-fresh on it though like the Mustang. The Mustang with me has another year or two left in the tank but. No go on the Camaro.
  6. Piss off yer wife and you will be pissin' in yer pants there Sparky....
  7. I dont want to be the bigger person. I WANT TO STOOP DOWN AS LOW AS YOU! I NEVER SAID I WAS THE BETTER PERSON. I WANT TO EMULATE YOU AND BE A JERK WITH YOU AS YOU ARE A JERK WITH US!!!! I DID SHUT YOU DOWN.... EXCEPT TROLLS JUST KEEP TROLLING ON....I AINT A MOD TO WARN YOU, SUSPEND YOU, BAN YOU.... I'm going to give you the same advice you gave me: Do yourself a favor and just walk away from this discussion. Keep this thread on track and actually be the bigger person here. Again, there is nothing all that important here, nothing you have to prove.
  8. If you mean "way too girly" as being: Hell Hath No Fury As A Woman Scorned, then yeah....electric powered cars and trucks could be really powerful and scary stuff....
  9. What I mean by 'Costco home'.... A home as big as a Costco. 4 car garage and a huge entryway in this case. so middle class North Americans could keep up with the Jones-es and forever be indebted. I sometimes get pissy this way as I sometimes serve jerks...
  10. Who said that Tesla is fixing the quarter mile times that dont need to be fixed? THAT is YOUR take on it.... REALITY is that Tesla IMPROVING their performance aspects of their sports sedan is no different from any other car manufacturer making their sports sedans or coupes faster. I guess Corvette fans should not have expected their C4 Vette to gain a LT5 or LT1 let alone all the performance advances 3 generations later!!! They should have been happy when the Crossfire V8 hitting 250HP....HEY! that was a helluva lot more horses than the smog era C3 right? And the 1979 C3 if I remember correctly hit some sales milestones... PLUS....315 miles on the P100. That is also an improvement... The Model S WONT struggle to sell.... WHY? Because the Model S has ALWAYS improved. Speed and range... 315 miles. 0-60 in 2.9 seconds... PORSCHE, M-B, BMW all have a HELLUVA LOOOOOONG WAY TO GO BEFORE THEY EVEN REACH 3-4 year old Tesla Model S P60s let alone the P100...
  11. The Germans, like you said, play that game, same with Ferrari. It is a game plan that works well for high priced, high profile brands. Not so much for the Chevys and Toyotas of this world. Tesla knows its customer base well and it serves their price strategy just right as there is a high demand for their cars. Cadillac on the other hand, needs to package their trim levels better so they dont get stuck with unsold cars on the lot and then discounting them. Hyper, you make it see like this pricing strategy that Tesla is going with is a bad thing. It is only a bad thing if customers are not willing to spend their money on all the little things...I figure you see this as nickel and dime-ing people. Well, it could very well be that, but people are WILLING to be nickel and dimed. That is how powerful the Tesla, Porsche, Ferrari brand is....and a few others of course. The network is slowing down? Whatever....it wont be too necessary in the near future....Bob Lutz had this to say in a Corvette question/answer period of all things at RoadandTrack: http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a29598/bob-lutz-mid-engine-vette/ BOB LUTZ ANSWER: Probably not in our lifetime. Hydrogen is especially tough to transport and prevent boil-off. Electric vehicles will eventually be charged through embedded inductive rails in the freeway. Affordable EVs will have ranges of 400 to 500 miles in 10 years, obviating the need for a dense network of charging stations. Even with "quick charge" times of 25 to 30 minutes, several EVs showing up at once means someone will have to wait a few hours. That's hard to overcome. (I hear stories of Volt owners in charging queues being told to "buzz off; you've got gas" by the pure-EV owners.) He raises another problem though regarding Chevy Volt owners that may help you on your side of the argument though... The swapping battery fantasy has come and gone...well....the flying car fantasy has also become a myth...such is life with the automobile world. Many promises come and go in this domain.
  12. So....you admit to trolling. You also admit that the internets sometimes have less than truthful posts in them and you are a preacher of less than truthful posts....but in this thread you wanted to also be taken serious because you were posting your trolly shyte as a matter of fact all in the while being a condescending jack ass.... Yet you want people to heed your advice to chill out....while continuing to be a condescending jack ass. Truth is, you started this mess, people got upset with you, they hinted at you to stop trolling, you did not heed their advice to you when obviously they smelled your shyte the MICRO-SECOND you shat on us and you are gonna sit here telling us to chill out? HA! Dude, we know (CP, Surreal and myself) what trolls smell like. We had plenty of practice sniffing the likes of you out! One suggestion to you: If you gonna troll with us around, up your game big time because you are an amateur. PS: usually trolly stuff could be quite funny and entertaining.... This shyte you spewed was neither funny nor entertaining. I hope for Cheers and Gears sake and its followers that for the last 4 years you post in here that you are a better humorist and conversationalist that you have showed us in this thread (and in the Pokeman thread as well)...... In short: YOU SUCK!
  13. Today, we all want to drive the expensive cars. Not just 1 luxury nameplate, the whole family needs to have a luxury nameplated car. We want MULTIPLE big screen TVs, huge Costco square foot home, many many tech gadgets,7 dollar latte coffees and all bought by Visa or Master Card @ 19-20-21% interest, then when that debt load gets to big we consolidate, and we go to a line of credit @ 7-8-9% and when that debt load becomes too big we ask for a 2nd or 3rd mortgage on our house extending our right to pay off that Costco style home in about 80-100 years. And we bitch because we are poor and that our politicians don't do enough to secure our jobs at home because it seems that if we had a better paying job, we could just amass more credit too buy more useless junk...and we complain that an extra slice of tomato in a burger that the owner of the restaurant has to charge 50 cents is too much and we yell at him, for actually trying to make a living himself.
  14. The Model S gets just more and popular as it ages... That is kinda the reverse flow of how it is in the fossil fuel automobile world. The people buying the Model S seem to be relishing at the fact that it is indeed getting faster. While getting more range. Funny Mr. Fapturbo that you mentioned the Hellcat as muscle car fans, enthusiasts, is exactly what they are expecting of their muscle cars. Vette, Mustang and Camaro owner/fans too. Faster, better, more efficient all the while still having a passion for the car, the brand and the nameplate. That is what is happening at Tesla with the Model S. The Tesla Model S has become an Impala SS, a Pontiac GTO, A Ford Mustang, a BMW M3...It is an icon. The Model S HAS to keep on achieving ludicrous speed in order to dominate the sales charts of cars costing $100 000, which in turn will fuel sales of the Model3 and advance the charging infrastructure... GM once had that from the 1950s all the way to the 1970s, even the 1980s. Let us not be pissy just because Tesla found their groove and is emulating GM in that regard. (to have a loyal following that EXPECT their beloved GM cars to keep on blowing their minds each and every new generation!) GM is the one to fumble the ball. Tesla was not even the one to pick it up. Tesla is a brand new team. An expansion team that so far, has made all the right draft choices and trades and is kicking ass in the standings, awaiting their first championship. Fans are in the stands, the team itself still has to pay off its high falutin stadium, and yes, the stadium used city funds to be built, but dividends will eventually show. Anyway, the city prides itself with Tesla's colours and Tesla is a fabric of the city and vice versa Sure, not quite the Dallas Cowboys with 5 Superbowl vistories or New York Yankees 27 World Series or Montreal Canadiens 24 Stanley Cups being proudly flaunted but they certainly are a contender to win their first.
  15. The Beach Boys version this tie around! And we finish the night off with Trooper. Good Night everybody!
  16. Yeah, Pontiac does it better than both Olds and Chevy...from 1964-1967. Especially 1966-1967. But I still prefer a 1966 Olds 442. The Pontiac is all grunt and muscle. Awesome! The Olds is the gentleman's hotrod! Perfect blend of grit and class.
  17. But as usual, I prefer the Oldsmobile version.
  18. The Malibu belongs in the Beautiful Automobile Appreciation thread. Ill put it there myself. You want something done right, you gotta do it yourself.
  19. I feel you. Trust me. Montreal was/is run the same idiotic way. With our new mayor....3 years already as our mayor, Denis Coderre, things are a tad better. He has put some pride in our city again. And that also means good governing. Maybe with some fanfare, but hey, Montreal was always a town with some spunk. One thing with Montreal parking, especially Down Town and Old Montreal parking and other very popularbusy districts, there is no parking....there are only parking meters that are only good for 2hours in the Old Montreal/Down Town core that will cost you $6 or so and the parking lots are expensive....like $10 for 2 hours and then $30/$35 for the day. Either way, you are paying that $30-$40, at least they wont tow you anymore, like they used to. Maybe the parking ticket is a tad higher. The last Montreal parking ticket I got was in 2007 or so and it was $30. They will only tow you in the winter when your car messes with snow removal. I havent seen any GT350s on the road yet in Montreal. But then again, all summer long, I havent seen any Camaros either.... Maybe 2 Zetas a 1 Alpha 4 cylinder.... I literally have seen more Gen 2 Firebirds than I have seen modern Camaros. I literally have seen more 1980s Fox Body Mustangs than I have seen modern Camaros. No joke, those 1980s Fox Body Mustangs are everywhere in the Montreal region for some reason.
  20. And I thought parking in Montreal was a bitch.... All you get in Montreal is just a 30-40 dollar ticket.
  21. 3000-4000 lbs vehicle? OK....as a bare minimum, no thrills driving but just enough to get you to work, from point A to point B, hauling family, groceries and all other necessary junk with safe acceleration levels and enough juice to actually haul said stuff? That would be 200/250 horsepower with 200/250 ft.lbs torque. With 200 HP/200 ft.lbs being closer to the 3000 lbs car and 250 HP/250 ft.lbs being closer to the 4000 lbs car. Crazy speeds wont be achieved immediately, but enough ooomph is there to actually perform family car stuff. Dont worry though, with those power levels, unsafe speeds for the street will be attained just the same. Now, for pure driving enjoyment. Obviously a fun driving chassis is needed with all the necessary hardware besides the engine is also needed such as tight steering and appropriate suspension tuning and proper brakes....but for a 3000-4000 lbs vehicle 300-400 horsepower and 300-400 ft.lbs is quite enough for shenanigans.... 300 HP/300 ft.lbs being closer to the 3000 lbs car and 400 HP/400 ft.lbs being closer to the 4000 lbs car. Actually, power levels this high get you into trouble real fast with the law and with the safety of the public road system for yourself and others that share the road with you.
  22. I dont personally see the TL in the Escala although I could see if one does though. On a side profile.... The reason why I dont see it is because I own a TL myself and I always see my TL as a clunky machine, not a sleek one as the Escala seems to be. Plus I think of my TL as a Stealth Fighter with all the crazy triangular shapes its got incorporated. clunky with triangular shapes and all kinds of different angles going on clunky with triangular shapes and all kinds of different angles going on
  23. @dfelt Thanx alot for being condescending you arrogant piece of... Yes. Yes. I took the liberty to do some creative editing in your post for the humor effect. You being 6'6''/280, and I at 5'6.5"/170ish, I wont be being too mouthy with you buddy! OK, back to the Fiat 124 coupe. Serious question: Does Fiat have the engineering plans and intellectual materials and access to the production facilities to do this on their own or will Mazda be doing it for them?
  24. Thanx for treating me like a dumb-ass with the over explained visuals...you know, with the red circles and the pointer as if I dont know my own handle... Just kidding! Well what do you know??!!! IT WORKS!!! @dfelt you rock!
