  1. Cult of Personality? That reminds me of something... The Cult...however these are the only 3 songs I care about from them.
  2. Well...I WANT it to happen... But Casa also makes me want it to NOT happen... Because of what he said...based on what Johan wants of Cadillac... Johan wants Cadillac to be independent...with their own engines...and this is a PURE CHEVROLET engine... Way to go Casa...be a kill joy for me! Sometimes Casa, you are way too logical...leave us have some dream time, will ya?... I will retract from what I said in the other ATS thread and go with what Casa said...no...I dont think Johan will do this one...but maybe Johan has another crazy engine lined up...one that is a Cadillac...and I did read that Cadillac will be pumping out its own engines very shortly...
  3. Im sick of all this too... However, GM tried to cover it up...and THAT is what Im concerned about. Not the fact that they tried to save a few pennies on a part that they made another company re-engineer. That company also kept things under wraps...as to not lose the contract. My comment was directed towards the HUMAN element...not the corporation...not GM...but the people that were in charge of those decisions that were criminal. Delphi...the head honcho of that contract...if I remember correctly...his engineers hinted of a possible failure...yet the head QC guy went ahead... My dad...worked at Canadair (Bombardier Aerospace) for 40 years. The last 15 years or so...he was the head manager of Quality Control. Before he released an airplane part or the entire aircraft...depending on the contract he was in charge of, his inspectors would inspect...and he would scrutinize EVERYTHING...and if it passed....he then proceeded to sign off the part or airplane...his signature was the last signature before the client received... In one case...a Boeing 767 pressure dome was rushed by production because Canadair was tight on its deadline...the head manager of production and the general manager of the contract pressured my dad to just release the part...my dad REFUSED....his boss...and their was only 2 bosses above my dad...his direct boss....in charge of that contract and the Canadair President...well...he told off his direct boss and his boss threatened my dad that he would be fired...for doing his job...well my dad called that bluff, he said that he will not only hire a lawyer...but will go DIRECTLY to Boeing and tell them waz up...and my dad did EXACTLY that...my dad had the cojones to STAND UP to that corporate culture of just putting human beings in danger... Boeing flew my dad to Seattle to straighten matters up... Result...the head production guy got fired...my dad's direct boss DEMOTED... My dad...well...he continued on... My dad was head QC guy with these contracts... Boeing 767 pressure dome McDonnel Douglas F-18 barrel nose RCAF CF-18 Hornet maintenance program Canadair Challenger....yup the whole aircraft before being delivered to rich assed customer... Canadair CL-215/CL415 water bomber...yup the whole aircraft... When my dad's time to retire came up...Canadair wanted my dad to be in charge of the Regional Jet program in Wichita,Kansas... my dad kindly declined...he was 65 and was worn out by the constant corner cutting by production and trying to weasel parts that barely make tolerances...and these are aircraft...tolerances in airplanes HAVE to be respected...because disaster strikes quickly up in the air... And that is what the corporate culture is lacking today... People that have morals. People that actually care about the consequences....and are not just about missing deadlines and cost cutting measures... While El K...I understand the cost cutting measures that GM was forced to have because of what happened in the 1970s...because the Detroit 3 was FORCED to comply with the foreign makes PUSHING themselves in the North American market....because our governments fell head over heels with the foreign makes... Yeah I know...the Detroit 3 made crappy cars.... Its not ONLY that... Because the foreign makes ALSO made crappy cars in THAT SAME TIME frame... Not to stray too far apart from this... Point that I want to make... Some corporate weasels dont have the cojones to stand up for what is right... Some corporate weasels will sell their moms...and themselves...for the all mighty dollar... This mentality WILL ALWAYS result in disasters and/or fake bankruptcies that steal money from regular folk... And our governments ALLOW for this to happen... And...no punishment... Sure...Bernie Madoff and Conrad Black are in jail...how many others deserve not only jail time...but Mr. Executioner as well? This is not a rant against GM...or Ford..or even Honda because I mentioned foreign makes... This rant is against all that is evil within a criminal corporate culture...
  4. PS: As Mr. dfelt has said...I think the next step for Cadillac is to introduce V Series EVs on the way to world domination.
  5. I gotta go with Casa on this...and yeah...interim engine. Why I think that? 1. Cadillac has to go one on one with AMG...I think Johan is realizing that Cadillac is more of a natural competitor to Mercedes than it is to BMW....this is a GREAT start to finally target AMG... Naturally aspirated. 7.0 liters Racing engine that loves to rev. Hand built. Perfect match to emulate AMG engines... 2. It wont be the first time GM reuses a legendary engine. Buick's turbo V6 in the Grand National and GNX was also used 1 last time in the Turbo Trans Am. History is about to repeat itself. That 7.0 is gonna make another GM model into an instant classic.
  6. You were always a good guy. Except, from time to time, we did not see eye 2 eye. (it rhymes)
  7. Montagnes (just in case you folk dont know what in the hell I am talking about...) Lacs de deux Montagnes. Lake of two Montains... I really know how to suck the fun out of things...dont I?
  8. Nice to see ya here. I was wonderin' when you would make your appearance. About your actually post..."Hopefully we will no longer have to find out." Casa has the idea to invite Wings over... He told me straight out that he was not going to listen to me when I said "NO EFFIN' WAY!!!". So...there is that... I dont care who invites who over...I aint the boss of them...but that is a big ....*SIGH* It turns out...I may have to return to Grade 1...I apparently have reading comprehension problems.... Casa will NOT be inviting Wings over... I repeat....Casa will NOT be inviting Wings over... Sometimes I could be such a dummy... and...what a RELIEF.
  9. DEAR CASA I READ IT WRONG... NO EFFIN' WAY!!! U and I don't always see eye to eye, bought I brought U over.. LOL.. Either way.. I think I will take your advice on this one for once.. Wings is an old "friend," but he would troll the hell out of this place.. and C&G would have their first BANNED member in a long time I think BTW Olds.. can U make your sig pic slightly smaller??? NOTE: just found a new feature by mistake.. If U have to add to what U just posted... U don't have to hit edit apparently.. it just adds it to the post instead of making a totally new post. And Phone optimization is very nice. Love this software I aint the boss of you, dude. I might throw a hissy fit though And I dont think you really care what I have to say about the matter either ..but thanx for the polite answer anyway...I respect you for that. I changed the pic and made it smaller...if anybody still has an issue with the size...please kindly tell me to make it even smaller...I will oblige and comply. PS: But if you do invite Wings over....let me bang HIS head on that brick wall Geez Casa...I READ that WRONG!!! Sorry for the mistake. I read it that you WONT take my advice and that HE WONT troll the hell outta this place because HE is an "OLD" friend of yours... The message is still the same... THANK -YOU for RESPECTING my ADVICE...I RESPECT YOU for THAT... Excuse now, I have to bang MY OWN head on that brick wall...
  10. You learn something new everyday. I did not know that....and thanx Olds Guy...for sharing your knowledge....although we are approaching 9 years since you posted this...and I dont know if you are still around.... I wanted to post a fantastic, memorable Oldsmobile picture as my first contribution to this thread, when I found this picture... I dont know if she truly was restored....but Id like to think that she was... Oldsmobile may be gone...but she keeps marching on... This '69 WILL continue on to spread the joy of Oldsmobile.
  11. yeah...well...it WAS of criminal nature... But Im wonderin' is anybody gonna go to the slammer for this? In 2015 America...scratch that...because its not only corporate America that this disease is apparent...so...in 2015 Earth...are corporate weasels ever gonna be held accountable for their actions?

  14. Interesting design elements. I think I like it. That figures. Im always AGAINST the grain when it comes to BMWs. The models that EVERYBODY loves...I hate...and the ones that EVERYBODY feels iffy about..I like. Im not feeling the colour either, but it works. The only thing that Im iffy about is the way the aero front wraps around and lays itself on the hood. I dont like that...the front part is nice...the hood part not so much. Would I be a future BMW CSL Hommage buyer? NOT A CHANCE though. I think Ill stick to the American Pony Cars. Future Camaro ZL-1 or Z/28 Mustang GT350...definitely the Mustang GT350 over the CSL Hommage. I am excited about its performance cred though...
  15. I get that all the time...but it aint because of the music blaring...maybe its because I look like a freak... Oh..BUT I AM a freak... I also like Pitbull With Enrique and J. LO.
  16. Well, Nissan has taken some styling cues from it already. The 3/4 window styling theme... I like that styling theme. Call me nuts, but I like the messed up Maxima. It has all kinds of crazy about it, and I like it.
  17. I thought that this was already decided upon a while ago. Its a shame. I liked the style of this car. Considering Im into American Muscle Cars, I wouldnt mind owning something styled like that. Its very unique and very retro, without actually being based on a previous car...yeah I know...its loosely based on a Nissan 510...its quite the head turner...is alls Im sayin', and I wouldnt mind be seeing driving one. ALSO, I could imagine this being drifted around Tokyo streets...or being the star in a re-boot of the Fast and Furious franchise. Yup...this car has/had the potential to turn the automotive enthusiast crowd on its head....its a shame that Nissan got cold feet. EDIT: I actually read the article carefully the second time around...and maybe a FWD model car might inherit its looks...because for Nissan/Renault...a unique RWD platform just for this vehicle is a tad too expensive to justify the possible low volume of sales... True...how can we argue with that? A possible partnership with another automaker? Who knows...alls I know its a shame...
  18. I dont do rap all that often. Old skool 1980s only. And I dont like Eminem all that much...yet this song here...Ive been known to play it in my car from time to time. However...its not because I appreciate the lyrics...I cant stand the lyrics...but I must admit...Eminem just kicks LiL Kim's ass (yeah I know...Lil' Wayne) when it comes to bustin' the rap... I just love the way the song sounds...I used to pick up the Montreal chicks dancing to this song in the mid-90s in da Montreal clubs. My friends and I would go nuts to this song at least one year before the movie came out. And Eminem's No Love is just a crazy re-mix...I LOVE THE WAY IT SOUNDS!
  19. The band sounds like fun, if you were close by and needed a singer I would absolutely volunteer my services. Not a huge baseball fan, but it can make for some great movies, the two you mention here are definitely a couple of my favorites. Believe it or not...I actually cried once watching... A League of Their Own....at the end... My dad had just passed away...in 2006...and I was watching TV...there was nothing else on TV late at night...and I thought to myself...what a great movie to slowly unwind and eventually fall asleep after a hard night's work...well, the end got to me...I used to go watch the Expos often in the 1980s with my dad...plus...he was a WW2 veteran...the tears just flowed as I made practically the same connections...in a weird and surreal kinda way...
  20. So Babcock just became the 30th coach in the Maple Leaf's history. Who whoulda thunk that? I heard rumours about Babcock leaving Detroit about a month ago...I said 'no way!' Then I heard rumours about Babcock going to Toronto about a week ago...I said...'never again will I listen to stupid sports talk radio with all this crap they feed us!' Well, I am shocked to say the least. But...to quote Johan De Nysschen...its gonna get worse before its gets any better, for the Maple Leafs, even with Babcock at the healms...its gonna take every single second of that 8 year deal for him to actually make something outta that team. Who knows....if he could get all of the team on same page...maybe trade a few of the bad apples...maybe shut the door on the Toronto journalists... The Bruins hired within...Don Sweeney as GM. I dont know about that move...it looks to me as if Cam Neely wants to be surrounded with people that kiss hiss ass. It seems like he wants to create his own boy's club...If I were Claude Julien...Id look for the boy's club mentality, if it is present...and Id get myself the hell outta there... I could be wrong...and Don Sweeney will return to building a Big Bad Bruins Team...but I aint so sure he has the knowledge to do that...yet... Olds, you're always good for a good, long response on just about any topic. I'm not sure about the Babcock move though. I'll always remember him as a Red Wing. He and Datsyuk ate the two main reasons why Detroit is one of my favorite teams. Thanx...for the vote of confidence in my ability to be long winded...but entertaining...of course. Datsyuk is such a freak of nature with his soft hands. He is the best that Ive ever seen. And Ive been watching hockey (and actually remembering and understanding what is going on...) since the early 1980s... Babcock...he is a great coach. He knows how to win. He will be missed in Detroit.
