  1. The difference between the GOP and the DNC is that the republican/conservative people actually elected a non-establishment candidate, while the DNC cheated Hillary into place, had this exposed nationally, yet voting democrats supported her and the corrupt establishment anyway. Broken socialist policies are the new DNC platform and they will openly ride the national debt into oblivion while signalling to the world how virtuous they are. At least Republican PEOPLE are voting for small government, and voting against self-serving politics.
  2. You sound like you're making a case for Cadillac badge jobs, and it's just not good for the brand. Besides, the Corvette's current platform isn't Cadillac worthy. It's an engineering compromise because they didn't have money for an all new chassis during C7 R&D. A Cadillac version would weigh as much as the ATS-V coupe and be riding on leaf springs for Christ's sake.
  3. The saltiness of the left is at critical mass right now. Everyone who disagrees with the liberal agenda is an alt-right white supremacist. The echo chambers are shrinking and the media is doubling down on conspiracy theories about Russia and fake news... despite the hacks revealing real corruption, and the mainstream media being the greatest arbiter of actual "fake news" over the past two years. I mean, when Alex Jones looks like f@#king Nostradamus because of the leaks, you need to take a hard look at yourself.
  4. I want to see Lincoln sales without fleet. They're really trying to push "brand success" with sales numbers, but how much is that fluffed up? I hate seeing the sedan/coupe market slump in favor of clumsy, feminine CUVs. Men need to grow their balls back.
  5. Impressive finish for the year, great showing for Chevy's sedans. Now I just want to see them get inventory under control over the next couple months.
  6. I was going to "like" this, but I feel like that would be contradicting the message.
  7. If you're looking at the Focus and Cruze, you should test drive a used Buick Verano. Those a extremely nice compact cars. 180 horsepower, 6-speed auto, great interior, and the best quiet tuning of any car that size. Won't be breaking the bank at all, you could probably find a new 2016 straggler at $20k well equipped. Just food for thought, if something cheap to own is still on your mind. Course, some people don't like how they look. They seem to be growing on me, personally.
  8. I agree on the weather, commercialism, and crowds/traffic. Those parts are miserable, thank god for Amazon prime. I have great family parties, though. I got tanked twice, once for x-mas eve and once for new years. I love picking out great gifts for people and seeing the reaction. I got my parents' a bigass plasma globe and my dad's face lit up like a 10 year old. They have a lot of cool lights around the house, but nothing like a plasma ball. I usually get decent stuff, too, because people ask what I want and I go search on amazon, haha.
  9. Man, that's a harsh view of christmas. I enjoy the gift giving. What's the problem? Or is that opening a huge can of worms?
  10. Slow your roll, buddy! I brought up liberal arts because the OP's daughter transferred to a school for the artistically gifted (that rare percent you were referring to). I doubt she's going there to join a drum circle and major in art history some day. I'm well aware of the life-wasting, money burning majors under the umbrella of liberal arts, but it also includes graphic design, web, and motion graphics, which is where the driven people go.
  11. Hey now, there are plenty of career options for a gifted artist! Liberal arts just encompasses a broad spectrum that also happens to include dumbasses smoking pot and trying to sell paintings at the boardwalk. : D
  12. Good luck with everything. I know how household renovations and repairs can get away from you. First you're making progress, then you hit a snag and 6 months go by in a blink. That's a fun list of cars. Make sure you test drive every one! Not trying to impose, but make sure you are vigilant about what your daughter learns at that art school. Teachers seem to think it's their job now to tell students what opinions to have, which IMO is totally inappropriate. The indoctrination and infantilization that we've seen in colleges is bleeding into grade school, and that's especially true for liberal arts.
  13. You misunderstand, I wasn't equating it with the XTS to shill for Cadillac. I'm pointing out that both cars bear the same limitations, and yet the XTS is almost universally seen in negative light. Even with its turbo V6, magnetic ride, advanced AWD, and wood-trimmed interior, the XTS is still a maxed-out mainstream sedan. It doesn't touch the engineering behind the CT6 or other large luxury cars. I think we all agree the only interesting XTS is the 410 hp V-Sport, and still we'd all rather spend that money elsewhere. When the novelty of the new Continental wears off, all that's left is a wood-trimmed mainstream sedan for real luxury money.
  14. The engine fell short of everyone's expectations right from the beginning. Toyota's 4-cylinder legacy sets a bar much higher than 200 horsepower with a 7500 rpm redline.
  15. I see the Chrysler 200S when I look at that interior. It's just not *luxury* special beyond the optional seats. The overall engineering is basically like Cadillac's FWD-based XTS V-Sport, which was faster and better handling back in 2014 (13.7@104 mph, 26.3 sec figure-eight). This isn't in the league of the A7/A8, S-Class, etc, but we're supposed to continually give it a pass because it's good...for a Lincoln.
  16. Toyota has managed to take a classic, proven formula and create a boring car nobody gives a rat's ass about. It's less than the sum of its parts, and the new Miata kicks its ass.
  17. If you ever want a bit more pep, there's a reputable performance tune for the 1.5T Malibu from Trifecta. Peak gains of 38 horsepower and 14 lb-ft of torque. Even better gains under the curve. They've been tuning GM's turbocharged engines since the 1st gen Cruze. Over on the Malibu forum, the 2.0T trifecta tune for the '13-15 models was really well received. No complaints or damage reported. http://www.trifectaperformance.com/forums/store/product/2236-2016-chevrolet-malibu-15l-turbo-advantage/
  18. I understand that the CT6 under-delivers in some areas. I can accept that, and I can accept a loss. It was this badly written comparison and sh!tty criteria that burned my balls. Your Subaru vs Audi analogy was solid. I would only add that Christian Seabaugh's take on the CT6 was blatantly negative in a subjective way that wasn't seen in the other cars. My complaint with the pricing is that it's nearly impossible to option a CT6 RWD 2.0T like that. Like I said, you can buy a higher trim level, V6, AWD, plus option packages for that money. As for the 3.6L, the latest LGX has been really well received across the board. Motor Trend hasn't even reviewed the CT6, ATS, or CTS with that powertrain, so when the article stated their preference for the 2.0T, they were referring to the Car of the Year test where their CT6 3.0T had strange, wonky power delivery (which hasn't been reported anywhere else).
  19. Did you drive the 4-cylinder or the V6? Because I find them to be two distinctly different cars to drive. The V6 is intoxicating and generally smooths out the shortcomings of the 9-speed, but the 4-cylinder powertrain is not class competitive. I would not hesitate to recommend a 200S V6 at a good price.
  20. For better or worse, the CUE set up in the CT6 and XT5 is drastically revised compared to the ATS/CTS. It's not for a lack of self-awareness, they're at least trying.
  21. This article was garbage from the onset. The premise is ridiculous: large luxury cars with 2.0L engines...but we're going to blend sizes to get the CT6 in here, at its expense. Let's break down the inconsistency: The CT6 2.0T is restricted to lower trims and RWD, with higher comparable pricing because it's Cadillac's full size car. For the price as-tested of the Luxury 2.0T, they could have bought a Premium Luxury trim 3.6L AWD with comfort pkg and driver assist pkg. Way, way more car for the money. Meanwhile, the Volvo gets the benefit of checking off the T6 trim with AWD as well as their more powerful twin-charged 2.0L, rather than the 2.0T base engine with 250 horsepower. You know, because reasons. Then there's Christian Seabaugh's writing, which is frankly awful in this comparison test: Somehow, the E300 fails to impress with its driver-assist technology and does the worst of the three cars in ride and powertrain--in a large luxury car comparison, mind you--and still beats out the Cadillac because of a long list of largely subjective complaints. There's such a lack of tangible, consistent criteria in this test. It was practically tailored to make the Volvo come out on top.
  22. I'm waiting for an announcement that reveals the true financial state of FCA is much closer to the brink than the brave face they're putting on.
  23. I KNEW IT! I knew there was something off about their stretch of incredible sales when the 200 suddenly plummeted in the segment. Either they were absolutely selling their soul to rental agencies or the numbers were off. 20% sales inflation is pretty reprehensible.
  24. Needs the 2.0T and people will just start throwing money at GM.
  25. I had not seen this Escalade interior before. No wonder they were gushing.
