  1. Oh absolutely, not doubting that one bit. Our country and therefore global economy would have been completely f@#ked had they all just folded. They might be in a better financial spot or they might not have been in a better financial spot by taking all of the loans. We will never really know the unmeasurables like people that have turned to them because they don't want to support a company who our tax dollars had to bail them out of. They actually pay a pretty good dividend percent-wise.
  2. Good looking vehicle outside of that chrome bar going below the hood and under the lights. That looks a little awkward to me. That diesel engine would probably be pretty awesome to own. 200/320: pretty stout numbers.
  3. NASCAR still uses 4 spd transmissions and they NEED a broad torque curve because the gears are so long. With their oval-style racing they also have no need for a modern transmission as 95% of the tracks they just get to 4th and leave it. i do think they'll run up to 9500rpm on certain tracks. That's one screamin' push rod! I guess I don't understand what you mean by when you're in triple digits it'll give you the extra push? Your foot is on the floor and you're shifting no less than redline so a broad torque curve doesn't really mean anything at that point. GT350R vs Z/28 is a decent comparison. Z/28 vs GT350R " From four to eight, this engine pours on the torque, but it’s rather lazy below that, in stark contrast to the LS7. But on this track, I’m never down there, so who cares? "
  4. Is that why most track cars aren't pushrod engines? Why would you need anything below 5000rpm in a car like this? It probably redlines at like 9000rpm so this lack of low end torque is meaningless in this application anyway.
  5. It would have made business sense but it would have pissed off millions and f@#ked over millions. I think them not going belly up like their fellow Americans has helped them out with the public. I know my dad will never buy a GM vehicle again and their last two purchases were a Tacoma and a Fusion. The Taco would have been a Ranger but, you guessed it, they didn't make one in 2013. My dad isn't the only person like that.
  6. I'd agree with most of those male buyers. The only cars on that list that I would never in my life consider are the 918 Spyder and i8. Everything else seems either more masculine(trucks) or very enthusiast-based. But boy-oh-boy look at all of those CUVs on the female list. There is the answer as to why their sales are through the roof the past handful of years.
  7. It's a track car + close ratio transmission.. you'll use that torque in 1st gear and she'll be screaming the rest of the time. There's no real need for gobs of torque.
  8. Very true but I have this weird feeling it would not be the right price..lol Good quality OE paint job taking trim and everything out so you'd never know is probably like a 15k job. But I guess if I don't have a vehicle payment..might as well! @Frisky Dingo where's your list?!?!
  9. Remember, those are your only vehicles per the rules! But that's a pretty gnarly list! How many of those would be retrofitted with an EV powertrain?
  10. I bet it's most likely a wife with a German luxury vehicle while the husband owns an American truck and I doubt that would change even if Mercedes or Lexus made a truck.
  11. PERFECT! Now for 26k, let's hope the rest of the car isn't trashed too then.. So, @dfelt, what would be on your list?!?
  12. I didn't notice the cracked screen but even if that were $1500 it's still super cheap for that car.
  13. 26k for a V Sport???? That sounds so damn cheap. I want that.
  14. How many is "many" that you personally know that are waiting to trade in their vehicle for an EV? Personally, I've only met a few people who want an EV and they're mostly just Tesla fans and one person who owns a Leaf. They absolutely love their Leaf, fwiw.
  15. I don't think 2018 will be a good year for sales as the last year or two was just too high to sustain but I don't think that is the reason.
  16. It's only if they knowlingly sold them something to cheat with that it should come back to them, imo. If they're contracted out a part to do X, Y, and Z and they make it to the specs but the other company does whatever they want with it they shouldn't be held accountable unless they knew it was involved in illegal activity.
  17. Cars aren't but trucks are.
  18. Well, I definitely found something to replace the Durango with... 4Runner TRD Pro. I know I wouldn't be able to get it in this badass blue because that's a 2018 color but it can be had used for under the budget for a 2015 TRD Pro. Because I know damn well my Mustang will be more of a 1/4 mile car than a corner carver I'll take a brutal 2012 GT500 for that. Last but not least... I feel like I need to have one of these in my garage or I'd regret life. 2003-2004 Mustang Cobra.
  19. I'm right there with you on a few of those! I was thinking about the rest of my list this morning and all of them came up but I think I'd sadly pass on the SS if I'm going to have a VSport Caddy, personally. Z06, Boss 302, and SS.
  20. Have anything to prove this? Crazy real-world fuel economy. Those TDIs(which were cheating the system..) were getting 50+mpg pretty easily.
  21. Half tons are maxed out based on width now though, without breaking the 80" width and needing the marker lights like the wider HD/SDs.
  22. Durango R/T Durango R/T CTS V-Sport CTS V-Sport F150 FX4 This is all I have for now.. I'll have to finish on Monday.. Or alter it.. I'm not sure if I want a Durango and an F150..
  23. Oh man, used market.. This opens this up so much! I actually have another one of these for ya after this one.
