Dream Garage- New Average Transaction Price Edition
ccap41 replied to Frisky Dingo's topic in The Lounge
My little toy car would be a 2018 Mustang GT(couldn't find a way to budget a GT350...) + Performance package = $39,990 ATS w/ Permium Luxury package(needed the LED fog lights and running lights) = $43,890. Edge Sport + 401A + dark wheels = $44,505 Tacoma TRD Off-Road, Access cab, 6ft bed + Technology Package = $35,950 This doesn't leave me with much at all..$18,160 to be exact. Renegade Sport with a manual trans sneaks under 18k MSRP! I couldn't get 4WD though.. But it would be fun to drive the snot out of it. It actually might be worth shaving 2k somewhere else to get 4WD for this little thing because it's probably a hoot for a little guy. -

This is so damn difficult. I don't know what I want to daily or how much to spend because I'd have to get cheap stuff too that I don't think I'd want at all. -
I don't think Mercedes is hurting because of their naming system. You might not like it but they're extremely successful and not hurting. But what IS a Prius or an Escalade? You said the alphanumeric jibberish doesn't describe anything about what the vehicle is but what the hell do some of these names mean? I don't think this describes what the Escalade is at all.

The only one that is genuinely attractive to me is the CX-3.

The only reason it isn't as expansive is they don't have a lineup to fill with alphanumeric lingo. I wonder if they're keeping a close eye on what Lincoln is doing with their name changes seeing if it drives talk up more about the brand or not. Vehicles naming, while us enthusiasts pay attention to it, will never discourage a buyer from a vehicle. Most will just go to a lot and say "I want that one" on a luxury brand's lot. So while they might be a jumbled mess, I don't think that will actually stop or discourage anybody from buying them.

Oh neato. I like I like. 5 Fusion Sports. Definitely joking but this'll be fun. -
Congrats! A buddy of mine just bought a Passat SE with the lighting package as well. His is black instead of silver though but it's a really nice car. He got his as a dealer used vehicle with 7800 miles for like $17,500, I think. I've had close friends with both scenarios. TDI Jetta was a tank but MK6 GTI is much less so.

I couldn't agree more. I think I said that a year ago when sales were sky high across the board and niche vehicles like the 435i Gran Coupe or some sh!t was introduced and I just can't imagine there being enough sales to sustain such vehicles. Along with the coupe versions of the same CUV (X3/X4).

I sat in one at the auto show and it wasn't great but at least it had a center arm rest, unlike some of the other baby CUVs. I couldn't live without one of those.

What vehicle's name does tell you anything about the auto? Bolt and Volt, Land Rover as a brand but not their individual models.. Maybe add Wrangler and Tacoma..That's about it. CT6 really lets you know what the vehicle is and so does Camaro, right? Let me guess, F150 and Camry just scream a description of the vehicle? + Cadillac

Tiguan is my guess as well with the "Almooooost". Orrrrrr is it an Q5 from Audi..? Or is the Atlas bigger than that? Q7?
-
Yeah, let's start with who this vehicle is for first and we can go from there.

I'm amazed with a company so large with so many brands that they have so few models per brand.

GMC News: 2019 GMC Sierra To Debut On March 1st
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
I did hear the Escalade will be new in 2020 so I guess they all will be. It would only make sense. I'm curious how all of them will incorporate the front fender vents for improved aero efficiency. They can't all look the same for that make vehicles but if that's what it is, that's what it is. I'm so damn curious about this 3.0 inline six diesel. I can't wait to read about that and the new Ford baby Powerstroke. -
Nope, the trucks out sell them. lol CONSOLIDATE! I guess Honda's might actually be a CR-V instead of the Civic. I don't know the numbers though to see which sold the most.

I think you need obnoxious tow mirrors to fix that car. Are those mods covered by the factory warranty? Hahaha. That would look... interesting...
-
I don't think that's why.. It can't be. The ATS is perfect. It doesn't have itty bitty windows. Hahaha Yeah, at 6'6" there probably aren't too many sporty cars that suit you.. Even if you're okay with a tighter fit. Yet another MAJOR benefit of going EV is there's more body to work with to make a fantastic greenhouse. This goes overlooked by many but visibility from the driver's seat should be put higher up on lists of things to perfect.
-
Exactly! Everything is DOOOOMED! Camrys, F150s, Silverados, and Civics is all we get. Ford also outsells Lincoln with the Flex though.. (sarcasm because I didn't look at any numbers)

Yeah I recognized that name and I had to check it out to confirm but it's definitely not an all-season. I've actually never owned anything with Michelins on it. I'd love to try them out eventually. The most probably candidate is the PS3 A/S but having two sets of wheels for my Focus I guess any summer and winter tire is fair game. I hate that car design has to compensate for idiots. Such a shame.
-
The Silverado outsold all of Cadillac. Time to cancel Cadillac and just make one truck.

If it's the Michelin Alpin, it is a winter/snow tire. That looks about the size of the bus I ride every day. (IT'S NOT A SHORT BUS! ) But in all seriousness, that's a pretty awesome looking automobile but probably pretty terrible to drive if you're not cruising the interstate eating miles up.
-
Aren't all half tons like that? Without looking at the numbers I'd assume the F150 outsells the Escape, Edge, Explorer, and Expedition combined. Ram 1500 probably outsells all of the Jeep and Dodge SUVs.

Probably the same amount BMW makes off of "M" stickers. I saw a picture of one yesterday on a Wrangler... Yup.

I KNOW! I mention it and GM guys are all like "you're an idiot if you can't see out of it" but it really is that bad. I've driven my buddies 5th gen and I sat in a 6th gen at last year's auto show. I actually liked that feeling of being tucked in there. It is pretty tight but I thought it was in a good way. I went on a Friday after work and it was like going mid-week as I usually go on Saturday or Sunday and it's a pain in the ass trying to look and sit in things. I went on my own as it's only 2 blocks from where I work and I was in and out in about an hour and I saw everything I wanted to. Granted, STL is a very small show and it's all mainstream companies like Ford, Chevy, Toyota, Honda, Hyundai, etc. but Volvo, Acura, Lincoln, and Cadillac of the luxury automakers.
