  1. That's full on mid-size territory. Canyon: 1500-1620lbs Colorado: 1492-1574lbs Tacoma: 1100-1620lbs Ridgeline: 1447-1584lbs Frontier: 880-1500lbs
  2. I feel like it is impossible for any SUV to drive like a REAL FERRARI. Different body panels on the Wrangler pickup..? I think they'd be best lined up to do that for that reason. They already have a mid size in their portfolio(on its way) so to butcher up a little van shouldn't be too difficult. I don't really think there is space for even 2 tiny trucks though. If anybody comes out with one, I can't see enough market left for a second one.
  3. I took a "snip" from here: http://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2018/01/small-car-sales-in-america-december-2017-and-2017-year-end/
  4. Who would have thought that those two have the two lowest compact car sales of the segment.. Yea..maybe everybody should follow THAT lead. Okay, the Golf is behind them and I really wouldn't count anything below them in the class.
  5. Damn, my Focus looks like a powerhouse in that segment.. LOL
  6. You guys are comparing Escalade to G Wagen. The real competitor is the GLS. Which sells plenty, 32,000 units. The G is it’s own thing. Changing to look closer to something they already have makes zero sense. What features does a Wrangler have that a G Wagen doesn’t? 4 cylinder engine? Removable top? I find it ironic that one brand can keep their vehicle looking the same for 40 years but another can’t, all because one is a “flagship” and one isn’t.
  7. Is there any $120,000 starting msrp vehicle selling 20,000 units a year? But this is 40 years old so 99% of that 502m is profit. Right? *sarcasm* Remember, they have the GLS also. And GLE, GLC, GLA(and the hideous coupes). Cadillac doesn’t have a vehicle to lineup to all of those so it’s kind of a ridiculous comparison. If anybody is leaving sales on the table it’s Cadillac by a landslide.
  8. The Escalade also doesn’t have anything unique about it like being the best handling or performing SUV whereas the G is known for being a beast off road like a Range Rover. There’s no reason to change what isn’t broken.
  9. Do you feel the same way about the Wrangler? Luckily, Mercedes has like 5 or so other SUVs to choose from. The G Wagen’s sales has been going up consistently the last 5 or so years. People who have the money for one love them even when they still had the sketchy interior and everything.
  10. Probably the same reason base engines in half ton trucks aren't turbo 4's yet. they can easily make a 275hp/325tq engine to out perform the base n/a V6's.
  11. That's clearly not a G Wagen replacement though. It looks like a GLS-sized vehicle. The G Wagen is relatively small. You are correct, on both of those.
  12. You never had interest in a 100k Mercedes SUV. You're completely full of $h! once I read that. You dog that company so much.
  13. Why? What reason is there for it to change? Because it sells plenty at 120k starting price? AMG GT is their flagship vehicle. YES. If they built that exact thing people would complain they build something with 10 inch windows and horrible blind spots with tires that stick out too far. Oh, and that it looks like sh!t.
  14. Nothing about that bubbly concept is attractive. It also looks 2 lanes wide. I think their 6X6 and G500(squared) in neon yellow did the trick.
  15. It's still a really different thing to be hollowed out. Probably helps with engine efficiency a decent amount having to spin less weight.
  16. i think they're just too small. I mean a Escape-sizes vehicle could do the same job and is likely similarly priced(because trucks are expensive).
  17. Those corner areas just look like trash to me.. Some pics they don't look as bad as others but my god it doesn't look very good.
  18. The body color and Rebel look soooo much better than the original showing of that silver and chrome.
  19. Ehhh a modern turbo 4 can easily do the job and with much better torque output. I agree they should probably have one for those who feel it is necessary but I don't think they need to offer one. Noooooo no n/a 4 banger in a tiny truck. Even those would likely weigh in the ballpark of 3500lbs with all the modern safety tech and I know what it's like driving a n/a 4 cylinder. It's "okay" but I wouldn't want that in anything that I carry weight around regularly. Also, 500lbs payload is almost literally 2 Americans, LOL. The 1000lbs is more what one would need.
  20. I think it looks good. I was afraid it would have looked like the international version which I don't think looks good. Even though it is only a small change the bumpers made a huge difference. i wonder what it would cost to lease something with the FX4 package because it looks sweet. I'm still not sure if it looks any better than the Tacoma but it easily looks better than a Colorado. The Colorado just looks too soft. If I got one of those twins I'd have to go with the Canyon for its boxier/tougher looks.
  21. You want a smaller truck and a V6. Those things do not go hand in hand. If it was even smaller it would have been a guarantee a year ago it would have been a 4 banger only.
  22. It only "starts" there if you qualify for the full 7500 federal credit and include your "estimated gas savings". Then add in the $1200 destination fee. Do you include final price for all EV's with the "potential gas savings"?
