What's wrong with that? Isn't that kind of what it is for? I don't see him trying to muzzle everybody, just you.

I hope so too but it has a long way to go to catch 32k sales.

In fact, the CHEAPER GLS was outsold by the MORE EXPENSIVE Escalade. Solve that mystery @smk4565. 32, 248 vs 37,694

The Escalade is just a special seller. there are plenty of cheaper vehicles that don't out sell it. It just sells well. I bet there are some MB that are cheaper that don't sell as well as the 'Slade.

We're not getting snow but we've been in the nasty cold for about 2 weeks now. Yesterday was the warmest in that time span with a high of about 23F. We've been in the negatives at night and morning and highs in the single digits to teens. Luckily it really hasn't been windy so it isn't as bad as the numbers suggest, imo. When I got in my car this morning it was 1F at about 7:15am.

That's exactly what they were going for. The exposed hinges are still there!

After looking at your nicely set up analysis, the CT6 really does seem quite a tweener in about every aspect from price to sales. I don't think the CT6 will never be relevant, I just think it will take time and a 110% effort on Cadillac's end to make it undeniably the best, for a long time. It will be hard to crack into S Class sales as it has so much more prestige than anything in that "class". I think Cadillac can do it though. They seem to engineer well enough but they fall down when they make sub par interiors(to their competition because it is not a sub par interior compared to anything mainstream at all) and base 2.0T engines in that size vehicle. Luckily they ditched the 2.0T for 2018.

Hmmmm They really pushed the nose out there. It isn't actually a lot but for how flat the last one is this one looks pretty different. The rest looks the same which is perfect.

That's where you're wrong though, right? If it's priced more like an E-Class/5 Series but comparing sales to the 7 Series...? It's sales are roughly 20% of what the E/5 sell.

auto gauges Auto Gauges, Manual, Digital, Are They Even Needed?

Do you still have your GTI? I like that instrument cluster. It's clean, clear, and gives you some nice info in the little LDC screen. -
That's hilarious that the driver of the recording vehicle just turned around and said "fck it".

It was "fine" when it first came out in like 08 or so but it is literally the same damn thing in 2018. The Fusion passed it up in interior space and about everything else while it was left to rot. The Fusion is was really did it in. They do have an SHO Taurus still. 365hp/350tq. Or did I read that wrong..? lol

There are plenty of Tauruses where I live but I still hate them so much. Ugly, bulky car.

ccap41 replied to G. David Felt's topic in The Lounge
Yeah, that is definitely a better looking design but that's also in cars that aren't 15k so I'd hope they did a better job. I'd agree with your wanting analog gauges mixed with an info display. I'd like the screen a little larger if I'm being picky but my car is small so I wouldn't expect to have a larger screen. -
Yeah some of those car drops are pretty brutal.. Fusion and Mustang.

I have to assume this isn't what you're talking about even though it sounds like what you're talking about.. Mechanical guages + smal info screen. -

I like the full customization for instrument clusters like the new Mustang. I'd be okay with an analog tach/speedo but still maintain an LCD screen of some sort for additional information. That's what I have now but I wouldn't be opposed to more digital for a larger display of the additional information. Heck, the LCD screen can be set to speed anyway. I am a fuel economy whore though. I love that information. My mom's 2012 Fusion gives crappy mpg information. Her's is like a damn bar that goes up and down for instant readout but it just isn't that accurate because the scaling and size of the screen. -
Audi News: Audi To Make Future Models Look Different

I think MB lineup looks great and wouldn't change it. You should be preaching to every mainstream brand, not just Mercedes. -
Oh wow, Thank you, @Drew Dowdell!

As much as I think I'd like the feel of a transmission shifting gears, is there any benefit for that in an EV? Are RPM's and spinning speed of a motor ever a factor in an EV to the point that you'd want to slow them down through gearing?
-
That'd be a deal breaker at this point...

It's amazing what people will pay for those though. The gf has had a lot of people tell her to let them know when she wants to sell it.
