I. ALREADY. SAID. THAT. My only gripe was for performance and enthusiast cars. I have already said as daily drivers(which would be the 99.8%) they are perfect. You must have never listened to the intake growl of a 4 banger and only hear the shatty exhaust that kids put on them. Huge difference.

It's not weak. Ford makes fake noises in the F150 and the Focus ST/Mustang 2.3 get an enhancement which takes the intake noise and just makes it louder. Nothing fake about the cars. F150 is but I don't really care as that's not even what I'm talking about nor were those other two as my examples were definitely thunderous V8s. But I do love the intake side of things on a 4 pot. Little 4-bangers have a great intake noise. Vehicles that sound deaden the engine are cars that an EV would suit perfectly. I'm not arguing that aspect at all. You don't like the sound of exhaust on any vehicle? What your favorite V8 drives past you you don't get excited? There isn't a car that could drive past you at full tilt where there may be a supercharger whining as it comes towards you then a screaming V8 exhaust note as it passes like a LS/LT, Hemi, Voodoo?

It isn't a "weak excuse" in my book. Exhaust note, intake note and the sound of an engine pulling from 1000rpm to redline is exhilerating and a silent EV or one that sounds like one that dfelt posted just doesn't do the same thing. They may be wicked and insanely quick but they don't give off the same feeling that the rumble of a cammed LS/LT engine does. Ever walk through a parking lot minding your own business and you hear some nasty muscle car pull in just loping around at idle with a cam that sound like it could die? Or go to the NHRA Top fuel events where you feel the cars go past in your chest and you need ear protection because they're just that damn loud? Yeah, I get that the silence of EVs have their place and they will be phenomenal daily drivers but they will always be lacking in the noise and literal vibration department. NVH will be too good in them. You can make them sound like anything with the correct sound system! Maybe I could get a cammed small block sound with an EV.. I just might need a sub woofer somewhere on the exterior..

Could you imagine hackers hacking the noises for that and when you stomp on the go-pedal you get "holla back girl".

I've heard the Harley bike and I've heard EV performance cars and they all sound like garbage compared to an ICE. Ming ming zing zing.

Anything without an ICE sucks some soul out. Speed and quickness can't replicate the noises and vibrations of an ICE and gear changes(manual or auto). I don't agree with you much on the EV side of things but I completely agree with you here. No speed or quickness will replicate or replace the noises and vibrations that ICE and a real transmission(manual or auto)(minus the CVT crap) give you. Heck, I want an intake for my lame Focus because I want MORE intake noises for my car. I don't want it to be silent. Yes, I think a silent car absolutely has it's place and I'd want one as well. But I don't want to have the silence without a second vehicle that makes fun noises as well.

Ram News: Spying: Ram 1500 Sporting A Split Tailgate?
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Ram
The chevy corner step seems pretty much perfect, imo. I assume you've used one, but that Ford Man Step is actually really nice. Definitely more complicated than it's worth but a buddy of mine has one and I had to try it out. It's nice but it's like this Ram tailgate thing. Almost making a solution for a not-real-problem.- 37 replies

The Chevy corner step doesn't compromise the bumper though. The Ford step i agree with as it just complicates things and there's more to break, same with that swivel seat. That's like the definition of a fat person thing hahaha.- 37 replies

Ram News: Spying: Ram 1500 Sporting A Split Tailgate?
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Ram
Haha thanks! I also realized I stopped mid-thought on the second "paragraph" What I meant to say was I had to learn "lifting techniques" when I worked at wal*mart and if you're not completely retarded, it's just common sense. Lift with your legs and keep the weight tight against your body. I'm not saying you're wrong, but what do you think fits that description? There are probably thousands, really. But how many of those just slightly change what was already there for a more complex way that could(and most likely will) make the part in question less reliable? I think that is 100% spot on!- 37 replies

Ram News: Spying: Ram 1500 Sporting A Split Tailgate?
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Ram
I could care less about lazy pieces of sh!t. Our vehicles shouldn't cost more because of them.Yes, R&D for this for fat people is costing everybody who buys the truck whether optioned with it or not. Also, it's a tailgate, you drag the item to you before lifting with your arms straight out, like an idiot. I had to do the little learning stuff As long as you and I know how to lift something up, this isn't an issue.. If people weren't stupid, this wouldn't be an issue. They'd know how to lift something up without hurting themselves. Can't fix stupid. Wait, sure you can, here's a Ram SpltGate!- 37 replies

Yeah, those issues don't seem like real issues. They're more made up issues they decided to solve a problem for. Fixing something that wasn't broken. Making up a problem to find a solution for.- 37 replies

Well, the X4 and X6 look like dogsh!t so why not add another? I hate them but how are they dead? They're all pretty new... And the majority of people aren't 6' 6" Just the idea of that earned you my first downvote in probably 2 months. GTFO!!!

Yeah it's great if it lasts as long as you need for your yard. A second battery really wouldn't be necessary. Plus, you could always get one of the smaller batteries as a backup. They advertise that they're all interchangeable.

That's nice and all but it doesn't help average Joe much when a push mower cost a grand with one spare battery.

That's an extra $130... I'd want a second battery anyway but that's a lot of money.

$600 seems reasonable as long as you have a small yard and you'll never get stuck having to charge mid-cut. A decent push mower is in that price range anyway.

Oh it would absolutely be pricey but I just think it would be cool to see what they could do with a truck from the ground up. Mercedes makes great vehicles. They might be on the bland side but they are great performers and they have the tools and knowledge for both off-roading and real truck work with their line of work vehicles and the gnarly Unimog. I'd rather see them make a truck than the Coupe SUVs,

It's not bad looking but I bet the premium for this over a Taco or Canyon is probably way too much. I actually would have liked them to being over a half ton here to compete with the likes of GM and Ford..oh and Ram. I'm mostly just curious what they could do to a half ton. They have engines and 4WD systems already.. I bet if they converted the G Wagen into a truck it'd sell like hot cakes. But that's more mid-size truck than a half ton.
