  1. Yesish. Their performance is more along the lines of the ST/GTI/hot hatch which is 26k. and they have higher ratio transmissions than the other compact class as well raising costs probably significantly. I'm not saying there aren't profits to be had but I think 10k premium for "the same" is way off.
  2. Yeah I just don't think I could ever convince myself of buying an Alfa.
  3. I agree with pretty much all of that. All of the D3's chrome trims are over the top to me though. The Denali is the only one that it seems the most acceptable even though I think they add things like door handles and mirrors that I'd want body color.
  4. It's more the amount of chrome rather than just chrome itself. Wheels and grille are okay, depending on the style of each.. A thick and large grille can be gaudy(the Escalade and F150 come to mind here - Denalis do chrome grilles very well). Then adding in the fake fender vents, door handles, window trim, running boards, and mirrors/mirror arms is just over the top. Absolutely perfect and almost exactly what I just described.
  5. Completely agree. Plus, it'd be another package to make more money off of.
  6. That looks absolutely terrible in so many way. If they all had chrome everything, yes. Cadillac was the only one offering chrome wheels, door handles, fake vents, and mirrors(okay, the arm extending out, not the entire mirror). I don't think Mercedes, BMW, Audi, or Land Rover even offered chrome wheels. Some probably ad chrome grilles but I think most were either body color or satin. The Navigator is the only other one on par with the ridiculous amount of chrome.
  7. Yeah.. that part sucks because its basically an E90, which is awesome, but you lose a lot of the newer technology.
  8. Most employees at Tesla worked at car companies as well and they still have issues. Less range, same money. Why would that be considered then?
  9. There's just as much chrome on the new ones. I took pictures of one in our garage at work yesterday and everything that isn't body color is chrome. No, thank you.
  10. I'd want this if they kept it as a hatch. Tiny sedan? Pass.
  11. Yeah, I'm not saying this is any better. That looks like sh!t too. The Escalade just screams blingy to me though.
  12. This is close enough to call it a chrome mirror.. This was what I saw the other day. It wasn't the ESV but chrome pieces everywhere. I dig the new illuminated handles! And, that GLS handle doesn't look like chrome but satin like the new Escalade handle. F*****G chrome mirrors. Personally, I hate those. Body color all day, every day. Black is good as long as it is painted black and not just unpainted plastic. Chrome just looks so cheap to me. Granted, when they're kept minty clean they don't look terrible but more often than not they just look like dirty mirrors.
  13. The door handles throw it way over the top. The grille and wheels isn't terrible. Oh, I also cannot stand the mirror covers that come stock on some of those GMs.
  14. Careful now... you don't tolerate deliberate trolling..
  15. I saw a bone stock blinged out Escalade today. Chrome wheels, chrome grille, chrome door handles.. all stock.
  16. Well why would we go from talking about a 2018 BMW to referencing 1980's Cadillac interiors? Explain the logic behind that, please. Unless it is simply to troll smk, it doesn't make any sense.

    e39 M5 Vs Chevy SS

I'd agree outside of 6.2L AMGs, but those aren't in production anymore.. well.. neither is the SS..
  18. That's 30 ears ago. I'd wager there's <1% of workers at either company that's been with them since the 80's. Nobody working at Mercedes is bench marking a Cadillac interior right now or the last 15 years, minimum.
  19. 100 and 300 mile ranges? I don't think they're exactly going after the same market as the 500 mile range Tesla. I'd also assume Tesla has a much larger support network across the country for both service and charging. Depending on their prices, I'd take the Tesla pretty easily.

    e39 M5 Vs Chevy SS

I'm not sure if I worded that correctly. I like the E46 and E90. I didn't like the 5 Series until the generation following the op, E60.

    e39 M5 Vs Chevy SS

E46 and E90 and the 5 Series didn't do anything for me until the next generation from the op, E60.
  22. lol I don't think Mercedes bench marked Cadillac interiors..

    e39 M5 Vs Chevy SS

That's pretty easy for me. I'd take the SS all day. I just never found that generation of BMWs to be very attractive.
