  1. Yeah welcome to modern n/a V6's... That's basically just what they're like in comparison to turbo 4s and V8s, let alone tubo V8s.
  2. I wonder if/when the Tacoma will take over these power numbers with that 8spd. it could desperately use both that hp/tq tune and 8spd(although more tq would be better yet). Heck, even the hybrid system would be great for it. I wonder who will be the first to throw a hybrid system in their mid size trucks.
  3. That's why I asked if it was intercooled. That should be keeping intake temperatures in check.
  4. If it benefited that much from 91+ octane they would put that as the requirement, or 89. It's about timing and with programming these days the computer will pull and retard timing as required regardless. Is there no intercooler?
  5. To waste money..lol
  6. ERRMAHHGERRRDDD Hank got $4 worth of electricity and I didn't get anything! Give me more things! Sounds more like the employees are a bunch of whiny bitches. If they have a problem with somebody else driving an EV and getting EV benefits..go by a damn EV. If an EV doesn't suit your requirements then deal with it. Bingo. All their "fairness" only hurts the harder working individuals. Working hard doesn't get rewarded but doing minimum requirements gets overpaid.
  7. It's brand new though so a product cycle of close to 10 years is pretty possible.. But I agree that they'll be looking to GTFO of there.
  8. All of those and the Silverado isn't built here? THE volume model.
  9. The original CLS is still the prettiest and set a stage for almost every mid-size sedan on the market with the coupe-sedan body style. MB literally built a new class with this car. I know even know what that class really is as it's in the middle of an E and S Class(A6 and A8, 5 Series and 7 Series). I honestly only care how this car looks because i know it'll be as badass as the E Class performance variants.
  10. Those new anniversary editions look AWESOME!
  11. I think you might have missed that I did say they aren't practical for everybody. I didn't say they weren't practical for everybody. Some people, they're great. Some, not so much.
  12. Bullsh!t you have. there's zero in my town, closest is 20 miles away at a city hall to a neighboring city. that's nowhere near convenient in any plausible way. When have I ever stated that I do not WANT to charge at home? That doesn't even make sense. If I owned a Volt, that's the only place I would charge it. I'm impressed that you're the 1% that legitimately needs an AWD setup. I bet that's absolute hell getting out of when it's real nasty...
  13. AWD isn't required. snow tires. Or are you buying it for the "what if" you get too much snow..? Snow tires on a FWD car are better than all season tires on an AWD car for snowy/slippery conditions. I literally give examples of distances of me to charging stations and have said multiple times that if my infrastructure around me was better it would be more viable. Until then it's basically a charge at home or not at all and I just don't want that. Rationalism? Giving legitimate reasons as to why an EV isn't practical for everybody? I'm not just bull$h!ting lies.
  14. Yeah definitely not talking about overall capacity of the battery, sorry I didn't catch that in my response.
  15. All of these damn auto unions need a little slap on the wrist letting them know they're employees and lucky to have a job. Manufacturing can be moved anywhere they please and other states would gladly accept the manufacturing jobs(I understand logistically it isn't that simple, at all).
  16. I said we don't get enough snow for winter tires. We will get 7-10 days at a time in single digits-teens temps. It definitely gets plenty cold to lose range..because anything under like 50 you start losing range but much less extreme. When he reconfigured it, it jumped 10 miles. 154/238 = still only 64.7% of your supposed range. Well, when you go out and put your money where your mouth is, all you and deflt have is a bunch of fanboyisms... Find a factual argument showing me a zero to 10% loss for the cold then. THAT'S the biggest drop off, cold. Heat isn't so much, but it's there. Whether it's just having to crank the A/C up to 10 or not, your range is decreased. I've already posted links to owners of Teslas and a Bolt review stating, what I would consider, a massive loss of range. I get worse mileage in the winter in my car but I have never lost 50% range or had my fuel mileage cut in half.
  17. Cold and heat are now out-of-the-norm scenarios, where EVs lose between 30-50% of their estimated range? Gimme the one that has a gasoline generator.
  18. What exactly has been "FUD"? We've already been over this... A Volt's range would be perfect and I'd only use gas once per week without the quirkiness of 100% EV.
  19. Ford mod motors? GM LS motors...
  20. But you know exactly what I mean, in all seriousness... instead of a compact car.. they opted for a compact SUV... instead of the compact suv with the base engine they got the next engine up.. I didn't say they jump to the extreme but they justify the next purchase up based on "what if i need this".
  21. I would definitely rather fly but if it's only a 4 hour trip you're really not saving much time and then you'll still have to either Uber/Lyft/cab everywhere or rent a vehicle. For me, the airport is about 50 minutes away, get there an hour and a half early, fly for 45 minutes to Chicago(4-4.5 hour drive from home), then I have to wait around for my bags.. how much time was really saved flying?
  22. Not like that but absolutely on "what if" scenarios. Bigger vehicle, larger trunk/hatch, more towing, bigger engine, more efficient engine, etc. People will spend a premium thinking they'll save money with better fuel economy when really it'll take like 20 years to actually benefit from that..
  23. Yes, I know. Full tank. Did you miss the "emergency" part? Or we could just say this is middle of the summer and 98 degrees outside or winter and 15 degrees outside and you no longer have 220 or so miles of range.. Pick and choose the scenario as there are more than 1. 144 miles of range in the cold? That's only 60% of it's perfect weather capability... https://www.slashgear.com/5-things-we-learned-on-our-chevrolet-bolt-winter-road-trip-19485525/ (interesting read BTW) Tesla owners say almost the same exact thing losing roughly 30-50% range in the cold. https://forums.tesla.com/forum/forums/cold-weather-range-loss Isn't that one reason we buy the cars and things we buy? What if.. I need this or that? Phones, we buy the larger capacity just in case we fill up the smaller one, We buy the larger engine for the 3 times a year we pass people but justify it as a 'what if I need it', we buy the house with 2 more rooms than we NEED because "what if we need the space".. most everything. We buy the larger hot dog or the meal for the "what if" I'm still hungry after just the hot dog...
