As others find excuses to like it, I have to agree with you. Yes, 238 miles is a lot of range but if you get caught in a snow storm or a legitimate traffic jam and when you get rolling you can't just pull over at the nearest gas station to fill up and get going again. They do make sense in the correct situation. I can call a family member or friend to grab some gas for me. Can they bring be some electricity? I can walk to a gas station, buy a gallon in a tank and use that. Can I buy some electricity that easily?

If you added that tax you'd be taxing almost all truck buyers. As it stands all truck/SUV/crossovers/minivans are exempt from the gas guzzler tax. I mean, that'd be fine, I guess. I assume it is half because trucks are used for trucks and the others for hauling more people therefore more seats, usually. CTS-V is a rare one that has 5 seat belts and gets the gas guzzler tax. I think it's safe to say that most that get that tax are 2-seaters and it is a pure luxury being able to own a car like that, hence taxing it. http://blog.consumerguide.com/gas-guzzler-tax/

LOL the 3 stunt car drivers driving CTS-Vs will be "okay". Let's just cater to every nook and cranny in the system yet you and I will pay for this process to get under way. I can tell by your post that you live in a much more urban environment than suburban/country. Yes, there are some HDs that get modified but most HD trucks are used for trucks. One of my best friends has a 2010 Cummins Ram and he uses it weekly for hauling seed. Work.

Volvo News: 2018 Volvo XC40 Shows How Sweden Does Small
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Volvo
What? You've already said you hate this style of "raked" SUVs and it's on the smaller side... What's different about this one? -
How does putting batteries under a seat make a car less comfortable?

I agree but it's probably a little difficult to catch as I would assume most aren't doing this around police officers. I do think it should be a ridiculous fine for harming the environment or whatever you want to call it.

That's the owners' fault for modifying said vehicle. They do not do that when they're stock. I would have thought an enthusiast would have known that.

Seems like a good way to piss money away having these trucks rated. I can't imagine this is a cheap process. The gas guzzler tax is for people who are buying a vehicle for fun and are taxed on it getting poor fuel economy. A truck owner who uses their truck for work or work related duties shouldn't be taxed additionally as he is contributing to the economy by using it for work or work related duties, unlike Joe Schmo in his Maserati.

I completely dig the looks of the new Regal but I hate the Cascada so much.. Just that tiny segment of small, slow, FWD, convertible-only cars with the VW EOS...are terrible. Not that they're actually a bad vehicle. I just hate them for what they are. They're a teenage girls' dream though.

Industry News: Upcoming Study Questions Fuel-Efficiency Technologies
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
When there's a corporate average that needs to be met every tenth of a mpg is worth cash. So it's worth it for them, obviously. Who? It seems like people buy these so called jelly beans.. There are only a few non-jelly bean shaped vehicles out there left. Trucks(and even the Colorado has a soft/rounded front end), Wrangler, G Wagen, GM/Ford/Dodge/Jeep largest SUVs they offer and that's about it.. Kia Soul as well.I can't think of many non-rounded vehicles left out there. But look what Tesla did with the X. That thing has some pretty incredible range for the size of the vehicle and the battery capacity and that's probably a good part due to it's aero efficiency.- 16 replies

Industry News: Upcoming Study Questions Fuel-Efficiency Technologies
ccap41 replied to William Maley's topic in Industry News
People tend to complain too much about how all sedans are shaped the same.. there's a reason for that. They're not all just copying the first to do it. They have a reason they're all "coupe" shaped now.- 16 replies

But it's a realistic scenario that they could be selling off brands or closing doors on brands.. That's not just doom and gloom from somebody who doesn't like a certain brand, that's a realistic possibility. Or even worse, getting bought out by a Chinese company. These things are real. Sadly, that's the only Fusion that I didn't see a rebate for LOL. Well, I guess that would be under "2017 Ford Fusion" as a whole. A buddy of mine paid 33k for a Titanium last December... He could have had a Sport for 34k but he's not a car guy so he didn't even know.. He definitely overpaid for his Titanium. IMO.

i was looking through trying to tally up the rebates for the D3 and they appear a little worse for Ford than they are... example.. 2017 Ford Fusion, Ford Fusion Hybid, Ford Fusion Energi. The 2017 Transit Connect is listed on there 3 times. but they also have it broken down to Transit Connect. Transit Connect Commercial, Transit Connect Wagon. So they have the Transit Connect listed 11 times. Some are 2016's and all of the variations then 2017's and all the variations totaling 11. And I'll await your proof in the future then.

Yeah, no sh!t. What's that have to do with GM or FCA? Wasn't that an original comparison? Oh, no. It was that FCA has as much as anybody else, or some sh!t like that.

Trucks have always had massive rebates and always will on specific trims. The High Countries and Platinums will make up for those 10-12k rebates on SLT and XLT trims. I don't know why you're just fighting facts. Surreal posted a very fair 3rd party research.

There's also not much haggling on new cars anymore. Dealerships can't afford to mark them up all that much which is why the big rebates are typically manufacturer rebates. Welcome to the auto market. Is this something new to you?

I haven't looked but those are usually only on specific trims, but I could be wrong. They'll do that to lower trims to get you in the doors...

How is that equal to or higher? FCA's is higher. 2250 > 2000 Zipcode has already been discussed.. that's obviously regional marketing and that's why the original article @surreal1272 posted a couple weeks ago was the only logical comparison as it was manufacturer only across all vehicles. It wasn't a nit-picky regional marketing ploy. I could cherry pick almost any make's rebates at a certain time and location to win an argument if that was the case. Surreal's was a monthly average by the manufacturer themselves, no dealer added BS.

Holy sh!t... I'm glad she's okay! I've always wondered about some of those nasty pot holes out there.. Always wondered if they ever immediately took out wheels/tires/suspension components.. that would be a yes. I know I've seen and heard of them taking out low profile tires and denting wheels but I hadn't see this kind of damage due to a pot hole. I wonder if you could go after the state looking for them to cover repair costs for neglecting roads or having poorly maintained roads with too high of a speed limit for the conditions of the road?

Genesis News: Hyundai Exec Says Luxury Brands Focus Way Too Much On Tech

It's also $21,000 less expensive. For 21k extra it better have all of those extra things.
