Sad but true... The US has a couple hundred G Wagens in their military. -

Who would have thought YOU would daily a Camaro and it was somehow a great daily driver? The trunk opening is like 13 inches or some sh!t on those. You either paid for people to ship everything to your house or you're lying because those are not great daily drivers. You can make it happen but they are far from ideal. Because it's her vehicle, not mine. Unlike you, I don't force my significant other to buy products I like. But I have told her she should get something more practical because there's definitely more practical vehicles out there. They've had two transmissions replaced(or rebuilt - I don't know, I didn't pay or schedule anything), air suspension replaced, two alternators, and at least one window motor failing. I agree with you, and that's why I said it seems German under the hood. I've known plenty of chevy truck owners with identical setups that ran just fine. The Hummer H2 though, has been nothing but a bag of sh!t. -

Speaking of sh!t... H2? They have one of those that her parents drive daily.. biggest POS. I never would have expected it to be a GM product because it's constantly having problems either dying or not starting. It almost seems German under the hood. Nah, jsut saying that if they build such bags of sh!t that at least they know how to sell bags of sh!t. Cadillac should be writing down some notes on "how to sell vehicles". She bought it before I knew her. She had an ML before. Shes definitely a brand snob though.. Who would have thought a G Wagen owner was a brand snob? lol -

Everybody just loses their car enthusiast touch when they come into contact with a vehicle brand why don't like? We all love the irresponsible vehicles, this is another one. Nobody dreams of 100-200k sports cars? So what this is overpriced. So is a Mclaren and Ferrari. Any luxury branded car ever created is overpriced when you could build some mustang or camaro for cheaper and daily drive a Camry for practicality. Yeah for 5k I could go buy a CRV and it would "get the job done". I'd also never consider a 2 door sports car because those are too impractical. C'mon guys. All the brand biases aside, it's a cool vehicle that's as old school as they come these days that, if the owner would ever choose to, can do some serious off-roading. -

We've moved furniture in one. We will do quite a bit of that with new home ownership. And every mustang plows crowds, right? -

I wish I was either further south or further north because we get just enough snow to necessitate at least an all season tire(or no season) because it gets plenty cold for months at a time but not really enough snow to justify a good winter set. -

So if we're talking about their abilities then we can talk about the off road abilities of the G then, right? For daily driving as most adults have their own places to live a G is a more practical vehicle than a Camaro or Mustang as their lone vehicle. You likely will not be able to fit any form of furniture(be it just some shelving or a small bookcase) in a Mustang or Camaro, they're obviously only RWD so you'd better be buying a second set of tires to have put in and off every year(I wouldn't care as that would be a good time to check out some stuff on the car pre and post winter snows). LOL Touche'... But you could have still looked at the door placard with the build date on it! -

Uhhh yeah... what redeeming qualities does a Camaro or Wrangler offer a daily driver over any sedan or CUV? They ride like $h! and have little to no storage in comparison. I'm not discrediting YOU at all, at least I'm not trying to. I'm just saying why there's a possibility that a reflector may have two different screws because it was an auto show car, not at a dealership. -

That's not what you or anybody else is complaining about though. The mechanical bits of the G are it's highest selling points(even though none of the buyers will use those for what they're designed for). But being on a floor where hundres of people will fiddle with and fondle if some jabroni cracks something and the only thing on hand is a different screw to hold on the other reflector(because ANOTHER jabroni dropped and lost the first one) you're going to use a different screw because it means absolutely nothing. That's the only way to buy any luxury car, if you ask me. It was literally what the gf's parents did. I think theirs was 4-5 years old and paid 50k or 55k. -

Well they'll have the G70, 80, and 90. I'm not sure where those all line up but I thought the 90 was more 5 Series size..? Or is it big like the 7/S Class? ohhhhh well somebody is gettin' ripped off. Also, those are some of the most beaten on vehicles one could buy. Who'd want to buy a vehicle that hundreds of people have sat in and fiddled with things? -

There's no reason to sell it that cheap though... Between a leather lined interior, electronic locking front and rear and/or together along with a standard v8 and solid axles front and rear there's no reason to because it sells. Plus, they probably couldn't keep up with demand as they're still hand assembled. -

At least MB knows how to convince people to buy $h!. Cadillac should take note. So never buy to consider anything cool because you don't do it often? That's the least enthusiast-like thing you've ever said. If we all did that we would all be in Camrys and Fusions(and Casa can get a Malibu, because Chevy). -

Like you say every single time with your personal Cadillac experience, get out and drive one and be in one regularly and them come talk to me. Anybody can find bad pictures on the internet about almost any vehicle. Shall we find quality control issues on Cadillacs? That cup holder is a fckn joke though. I literally laugh about it because it's such a joke. It holds...almost nothing.. Hell yeah you can! Everybody here complains about how overly complex vehicles and their systems get and how technology is ruining the driver's car and when there's one vehicle which keeps it old school(and the Wrangler!) people get on it for that too. There's just no winning with people. Drew has also mentioned that it isn't an uncommon occurrence to see things like this on auto show floors as most aren't finished vehicles/concepts/prototypes/vehicles that will never be for sale. -
lol, there's nothing tacky about marble floors...unless it's just an obnoxious color.

Well it isn't a 3 row SUV. but it's 3 inches wider, 6 longer, 3 taller...fair amount larger. Most comparisons compare the RR Sport to the JGC. That seems pretty significant for a 2 row SUV. You're right it isn't a BOF GM full sizer but I also think those are stupid big. After looking at the dimensions the big Rover is closer in size to the Tahoe than the JGC. Definitely smaller than the Tahoe.

The gf's isn't fit with mismatches screws or poor fit and finish. Things fit as they should and with 180k miles on it there still aren't squeaks or rattles. Plus, its a vehicle you could fit in. The roof is like a mile high. If you ask me, 4 platforms across their entire brand is pretty impressive. They have so many vehicles there isn't a single hole in their lineup from the cheap CLA to the bonkers Maybach AMG. It's safe to assume that the G is the only one on its own platform along with the AMG GT but with the G being 800 years old I'd say its safe to assume that's been paid for long ago. -
30 miles for a vehicle 8 times the size of a Volt and shaped almost like a brick is pretty impressive to me(Range Rover, sport is more like 4 times as large). I mean they can't just cram batteries underneath because they likely want to keep its off road abilities and clearances. FYI, I'm being a smartass about the sizes but they are both much much larger than a Volt. "regular" Range Rovers are huge vehicles.
