2018 Dodge Challenger Demon Provides Brutal Performance: Comments
If they just axed Fiat and Alfa and placed those vehicles into Dodge and Chrysler(because I think Chrysler could be Buick-like or if given the right resources Lincoln/Acura/Infiniti/Cadillac/etc fighter. because they have RWD and SUV platforms). I also don't think Ram needed to branch off. Ram could have stayed a Dodge Rams and I don't see the point of that. Literally nothing on the vehicles would have to change other than the VIN probably. I feel like that was a waste of money and unnecessary.

Yeah, I know people do this but if they're stupid enough to do that they deserve their $h! to break when they're constantly reaching up there because they're dirty humans. There isn't one single vehicle with stuff on the dash that is also clean.

It would help if the company as a whole didn't blow asshole. I don't want Dodge to go anywhere but they're just not making anything worth buying. The Challenger has a couple high end trims that are gnarly but largely uncompetitive with anything else on the market, the Ram has fallen behind and doesn't it have another year or two until it gets a new model? And the Charger is in the same boat as the Impala that they're in the quickest dying market. FCA needs to consolidate brands some how because having a total of only like 20 vehicles across 5 brands(I'll leave Jeep out of it as they just dominate their market) is hurting them.

lol well if they're that stupid to put stuff behind it they deserve to break their own stuff and be inconvenienced. Who puts things on their dash????

For what it's worth whomever can read this. Fleet sales - March 2017 FCA 23% sales are fleet The other two don't give simple numbers like that. They break it down more and to be honest.. F figuring that out. And the Charger was absolutely NOT purpose built for the police forces. It was later outfitted for that duty because it worked so well. Same reason the old Crown Vics(when they were new and not strictly police cars) were used. They suited the job well enough.

Tesla is the only one that charges at extremely fast rates though. All of those other ones double to triple our time waiting. No bueno. Buuuuuut in my real world scenario, I wouldn't need to charge outside of my own home unless I was road tripping. I can't remember the last time I drove more than 200 miles in a single day. I think when I bought my Focus was actually the last time and that was about 95 miles in each direction but I obviously drove more than just there that day.

Coupla things... Yes they're sparce in areas but they've made it a point to be able to cross the country which it appears there are a handful of ways to do that from the map. It isn't perfect but they're adding on every day and expanding their network. According to C/D's year with their P85D the range was much lower than rated, for what it's worth. At least on the interstate only trips. Time isn't all that bad as every couple of hours of driving getting out for 30-45 minutes to charge isn't the worst. But like C/D said, a trip that involves 2-3 stops is fine but any more than that and it gets tedious and that sounds about accurate.

Are people closed fist punching them? How would somebody break them off without trying?

In smaller vehicles the distance shouldn't be an issue but larger vehicles where there is more space in the vehicle I could see it playing a larger role like the GLS or Nav. But it's just an idea..

I think one reason they're doing the screens separate like they are now is in part so distance to touch it. That screen above looks like it is quite the reach compared so something an inch or so closer. I'd like to talk to one of the designers about that.

I guarantee they will not allow you to do everything while driving. I know I cannot pair a new phone to my car while the car is in D so I doubt they will let you fiddle with seat controls from a screen while moving either. If they do.. it sounds like they're lining themselves up for lawsuits.

Demon, no way. It will likely get the same 200ish range the Tesla gets with that power and I'm assuming a very short rear gear as well because of what it is. Hellcat, easily a good road trip car to be honest. It wouldn't be my first choice if we're getting 70k to spend on a road trip car but that's another story. Uhhh I heard in the past year they expanded their charging stations from like 177 to 355(or somewhere in those ball park numbers). I know they've strategically placed them to make LA to NY trips, if I'm not wrong. I do agree that where I live charging stations make EV not a truly viable option. If I'm buying something like that a Volt is what I'd realistically need.

Those look so terrible... And you'd road trip the Demon?!?! Tesla has a service built in to find their supercharger stations. If you decide to stray that far away from them, that's your own fault. A drag strip special(while insane in its own way) is more of a one trick pony than a family sedan.

Definitely! The complete opposite of what I just read about this morning.. 2.0T Jag F-Type. Beautiful car.. but a 2.0T????? Yeah I think it would be cool if they made something that was track-like but because of the platform still kept to its roots of muscle car in one of the following years. It just sucks that they're to handicapped by the weight of this thing.
