1. I actually don't think it looks as out of place or noticable on this a smuch as it does on the Colorado. But they do sit extremely low. I walked past a new Denali a few months past and I was checkin' it out and I noticed that that front diffuser had to have been only 6 inches off the ground.. But it sat far enough back that it wasn't really noticable like it is on the Colorado.
2. Looks good, sir! I really like that band on it. Do the diamonds follow it all the way around or do they stop once past the finger? Now the real question.. Did you pick it out all on your own???
3. Yes, that's fine as long as it doesn't get political. Awesome! Thanks!
4. Congrats! What's it look like..?!? I'll post a picture after work. It's got as much diamond as I personally find tasteful. All her female friends and relatives seem to like it. That's all that matters is that she likes it! I wish you lived closer, the gf's parents own a jewlery store and could have hooked you up.
5. ..Another Z06 is down.. http://www.foxnews.com/leisure/2015/07/10/2015-chevrolet-corvette-z06-test-drive/ "There’s no doubt it’s a world-class machine at speed – and at coming down from it. Some high-performance cars can be squirrely when you stomp on the brakes at triple-digit speeds, but the Z06 stays straight as an arrow, even in mixed conditions. Only in the tightest hairpins does it object to your commands in the slightest, eventually bringing its rear end around and then catching it if you don’t. Despite the massive amount of power on tap, it’s easy to find your confidence in this car, and learn a few things along the way. That is, until you reach the end of the road. After a few lapping sessions, the engine in mine unceremoniously called it quits. There was oil, some bits and pieces, unpleasant noises. It was not pretty. The cause? Yet to be determined."
6. Congrats! What's it look like..?!?
7. I dig the body color running through the grill. Hopefully they don't make a chromed out version where that is instead a massive chunck of chrome. Is it me or does anybody else see a little more Colorado in this? Either way, I think it is a good facelift. I like the grill a lot more, The hood has some muscle to it, the lights look much more modern. Good job.
8. I have to ask.. What is the difference between that and a 32" TV? Don't most modern TVs have inputs to be used as monitors? The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is resolution. Don't computers/monitors use a much higher resolution than 1080p? The main difference is that TV's as long as they are 1080P only give you the HD resolution or lower and usually have only HDMI or VGA ports to connect to a computer. Computer Displays like the one above at the link have the HDMI but also the HDMI Display port which allows the full resolution to show up which is 2560 x 1440 compared to HD which is 1920 by 1080. Plus with dedicated Computer displays you get so much more, what you asked. Comparison TV - 1920 x 1080 resolution with an extra HDMI or VGA port and that is it. HP's 32" Computer Display - 2560 x 1440 with HDMI Display port plus the following: 2 HDMI ports for connecting to blue ray or other devices 2 bass speakers 2 treble speakers USB Hub Built in with multiple ports Headphone stereo port Some models also allow the monitor to go into Portrait mode such as the NEC Display monitor. Price just came down to $459 so even better deal now. Great way to have 3 full size web pages open at the same time or a large spreadsheet. TVs come with more HDMI inputs, more USB ports, you have the computer for a headphone jack. The only thing that I really see stand out is the resolution, like cp said. I mean "factory" speakers won't equate to a good aftermarket set at this price point anyway so those speakers don't really mean much, in my opinion. I guess I just don't see $500(after tax) being worth it for a 32" monitor/tv... Sorry, not trying to sound like a prick.. I'm just trying to see the value in this..
9. Bump. So Drew can see.. And everybody can hear my rant again..lol I have to ask.. What is the difference between that and a 32" TV? Don't most modern TVs have inputs to be used as monitors? The only thing I can think of off the top of my head is resolution. Don't computers/monitors use a much higher resolution than 1080p?
10. I just had a thread closed on another forum because I was asking concealed and carry questions.. I literally was just asking if anybody had anything mounted in their car(Ford Escape forum). If they had and suggestions or locations that they liked best. And before k said any of that I stated that I al looking to get into a class for my license within the next few months. All depending on scheduling. So I made it clear that it would be done legally.. Kind of annoyed. Speaking of which..Drew, could I start a concealed carry thread..? (About it in general and/or about vehicular mounting)
11. No no no 464 is plenty. It was the v8 part that I'm more partial to.. Strictly for its noises. All of these cars perform so close to each other it's awesome for us car guys.
12. These aren't coupes, correct? So 8cubic feet less in the rear and 2cubic feet less in the trunk (than the smallest competitor) is a fair amount and reason to gripe. If these were coupes, clearly they would be even more driver oriented but if the buyer is buying one of these in sedan guise then they intend to use the rear seats and trunk and the lack of space for a vehicle within an inch or two in all exterior measurments of the BMW and Merc isn't acceptable and it should be knocked for those qualities, or lack of qualities, in my opinion. I absolutely love this class of car. It is right up my ally and hopefully one day I will be deciding on one of these three. The one thing that I think would sway me from the ATS-V is the V8 in the Merc. The ATS looks freakin' awesome in its V Series costume but if there is a 500+hp V8 as a competitor..It'd be hard to pass up one of the few V8s left around..
13. Damn, I just got my magazine a few days ago.. I'll be reading it tonight whilst doing some cardio at the gym.. I did sneak a peak at the results though and price tags.
14. I can't get past the new exterior design language. Well that and the CVT. I'd be inclined to at least try the Edge Sport at the same price point as the others. I'd buy the edge just based on the looks over the other two alone. Even when it isn't in top trim. Then add in that it doesn't have a damn CVT or isn't Hyundai and BINGO. Okay, that was harsh on Hyundai.. I realize they made very good stuff now and compete with vehicles they would only dream of 15 years ago.. it would still be really hard for me to ever buy one. I'm curious what the Edge weighs with the 2.0 and FWD and 2.0 and AWD just for comparisions sake because 4400lbs is heavy. But it is a v6 and two turbos, bigger intercooling and cooling in general with what..22 inch wheels? 21s? I think 20s would be more than enough, especially once you realize they(tires) don't last forever and will have to be replaced..that'll be a pricey bill, for even the cheap junk tires that I wouldn't even consider.
15. While I absolutely 100% agree.. My friend said this to me that kind of opened my eyes to it regardless of fake or not. "it's entertainment" That really is all that it is, just like ANYTHING on the ole television. Whether it is all staged or isn't(we know which it is) then it is like one long ass movie. It is planned out, acted out, and always new stories. <-I never thought of it that way. I always looked at it as a sport, which was being faked and staged(which I hated once I grew out of it). But once I realized it is kind of just like a movie(which we all watch movies) I realized it isn't that bad anymore. I still don't watch it but that is more because I'm not even going to try and spend 3 or so weeks getting into the "rythm" of who's who and what's what.
16. I used to LOVE WWF when I was younger. Every Monday night. I actually stil have one friend who is into it. Its crazy because of how tacky it is when I watch it now.
17. Hahaha touche'.. lol Well.. Apparently this was some kind of gift or something.. So.. This is what Wings would do if GIFTED a GM! Ps. did you see all the tacky $h! they did to that car????? They absolutely ruined it with $50 worth of bull$h!
18. If Wings ever got ahold of a GM.
19. EVERYBODY STOP TALKING ABOUT HOW CARS ARE ALL ELECTRONIC AND DISENGAGING NOW!
20. I completely agree Olds. If everything is going to be electronic might as well save space and just make it a dial. Aaaaand like 'Bong said with his being nice aluminum it probably doesn't have that cheap feeling to it like some actual shifters do. I had some time to think about that...but Scott Evans and Christian Seabaugh over at Motor Trend made me over come that status quo fear. Then I realized how stupid and clumsy an automatic gear shifter really looks like...especially when everything is electrics now-a-days...and yeah...like 'Bong saiys about the aluminium trim... However...as you know...because we feel the same way about it...I dont like push button start...because I like the feel of a V8 engine turning over and roaring to life from the key itself... You realize that even most twist to start keys are effectively push button also right? The computer controls the starting cycle and won't allow you to overstart or understart the car anymore. No no no.. Not that kind.. Not like the kind in my(formerly)'06 C350 where it was a key but you turn it an let it go and cycles. We're talking more like my(also formerly) '03 Mach1 where the engine only turns over while you're actually turning it - old skool like!

Hahaha I SO AGREE! Too bad my escape is push button.. pretty lame. I don't understand how real car guys don't et that feeling of actually turning the key and feeling the engine turn over and fire up, as or short as you turn the key, with no electronics to run their own stupid cycle. And because it feels the best with a V8..which tend to have a little exhaust noise to them..and the engine revs a bit over idle..with a tad of cackle..OoOoOoOooooo!
22. I haven't played one of the COD Zombies sinse World at War(the original Zombie maps). And the zombie levels are the absolute best! A friend and I would play when we got off work together for a couple hours..a couple days a week. But that is long gone now..sadly. Now we have big boy jobs and responsibilities.. I need to try one of the newer Zombie maps. Ohhhh I do remember playing some on Black Ops also. So not just World at War. Man how those two were different, I can't imagine a newer game's version.
23. We all know what's what on that score, man But on a serious note, your pointing out the lack of a coupe and my comments about Cadillac trying to hold the line on prices make the sales numbers of Cadillac sedans even more remarkable. With due props to the outgoing CTS, this is a class-leading platform. Truth is that most stand alone luxury brands are utilizing their name to sell lackluster products in an effort to remain relevant in a down economy. They are also trying to stave off CAFE and equivalent mandates by offering lower end products with weaker, more efficient engines. Benz for instance would be DEAD if they only offered vehicles with the "xx350" and above name. Cadillac could survive selling only Escalades and perhaps only vehicles with 3.6L and above because it has Chevy, Buick, and Opel/Vaux to widdle down its footprint. From an onlooker's perspective, one with a realistic point ... the CTS is selling fine CONSIDERING its hobbled by a line-up that is minus what it offered a year prior (No coupe, no Vseries, no coupe Vseries, no old inventory of discounted Gens 2s) It is now selling a sedan only version with a higher price tag. WOW.. sales went down.. go figure. I could say a similar logical stand point thing about the ATS but I would add that it is selling against a competitive background that is offering about 80% more in their line-up than Cadillac is giving the ATS. I posted it before, but here goes again: 328diesel Sedan 328diesel xDrive Sedan 3series Sedan 3series xDrive Sedan ActiveHybrid 3 3series xDrive Sports Wagon 3series xDrive Sports Wagon 3series diesel xDrive Gran Turismo 3series xDrive Gran Turismo M3 4Series Coupe 4Series xDrive Coupe 4Series Gran Coupe 4Series xDrive Gran Coupe 4Series Convertible 4Series xDrive Convertible M4 vs ATS Sedan ATS-V (Not even here yet) ATS Coupe ATS-V Coupe (Not even here yet) ..ATS offers AWD.. In both coupe and sedan. which will cover the xDrive versions of the coupe and sedan. Also.. Those "Gran Turismo" are absolutely hideious. Nobody wants to see a sexy ATS botched with a competing body style.. But yes, BMW has a massive lineup all the way across the board. I have to believe all those Gran Turismos and Gran Coupes and Wagons only account for a very very small margain and probably don't even cover their own development costs which makes sense the Cadillac hasn't jumped into making all sorts of variants(at least in the US). I do think a convertible coupe would sell because that would be quite pretty and sporty. And a hybrid and diesel. But I have to belive a hybrid is in the works even if it is just because CAFE is forcing it, same with the diesel. But GM does have a small diesel in the Cruze they would update or heck..it'd be awesome if they would use the 2.8 Duramax. Make it a quick diesel, which would be the only one in its class.
24. I completely agree Olds. If everything is going to be electronic might as well save space and just make it a dial. Aaaaand like 'Bong said with his being nice aluminum it probably doesn't have that cheap feeling to it like some actual shifters do. Sadly.. your next truck won't be like that unless you stay with older trucks. Everybody is going more and more electronic with everything they can.
25. This is in response to the interior talk.. Just my opinion of the matter.. I like the look of the Ford's center cousole but the GM and Ram's looks way more useful with the column shifer(even thought I think column shifters look ugly themselves). I think Overall the Ram's interior looks the best and most luxurious. The Denali looks like it uses nice aterials I just cannot stand the shape of the cener stack and left hand side section, very tall and rounded, oversized rectangles.. just not my thing.
