I prefer the Hyundai's exterior styling quite a bit more, but this is still a handsome sedan. Ideally, I much prefer the refreshed Genesis more, too.

It also has less than 6k miles on the odometer…

In all seriousness though, the Hyundai Genesis R-Spec 5.0 is a really cool car. I saw one of these the other day and completely forgot they existed prior to Genesis being its own brand. I do love me a large sedan with a V8 under the hood.

You love it. I know you do. Behind that gumpy, old man persona you're putting off, you love the idea of becoming an American. You'd be first in line to get a new ID with the United States of America on it!

I hope Trump takes over Canada, just to see how much lower Olds' can tumble.

Not true. You're a total d!ckhead now. One can't ask a question to have a simple conversation without you making a list of why you don't have to answer the question. This is a place to discuss things. If you don't want to discuss things you're posting, why are you even here?

How is it a wakeup call? It's been in production for 3 years already. Are any being sold here? They aren't, to the best of my knowledge. Peak charging of 120Kw? That's pretty awful, right?

This guy is pretty absurd. "it needs more parts" to make it more reliable? "you can just tell by how small these transmissions are that they're under designed. there's not a whole lot of parts in here that make them work." "...In my opinion you need big durable and maybe even more parts to make these transmissions last more than 100,000 miles." I'm not trying to defend the transmissions. I'm sure he has them in the shop all the time with failures, but his reasoning is possibly the most BS there could be. 100% made up. Has he ever seen a Rav4 transmission? Uh oh... it's tiny, too! CRV transmission? Also small! He probably also doesn't know that there are very few vehicles that DO have transmission dip sticks anymore. i've wasted an awful lot of time on this guy's video. 🤣🤣

Permanent Car Spotters
Champagne/Urbana? I would for a car purchase, but that's like 2.5 hours away. I'll make a drive for the right car at the right price. I drove to Indianapolis for my current Navigator. That's about 4-4.5 hours away. I drove to Chicago for my C350. That's also 4-4.5 hours away. I drove past Louisville for my Mach 1. That was about 5 hours.

Ranked Choice Voting
OMG, I get the term "ranked voting" now. After reading this, it's almost silly that i didn't know what it was until now, hahaha.

Understandable, and I would LOVE to actually visit Canada one day. I will get there. I just don't know when. For what it's worth, Illinois is not a red state.

Come down to middle of America. I'll buy you a beer here and we can find a classic car show to roam around. It isn't as ugly as you portray it to be. I'm sure it's also beautiful in the PNW where @G. David Felt lives and the Pittsburgh area where OUR leader resides, @Drew Dowdell. There are so many good people from these parts. Don't let the internet make you think everybody everywhere is jacked in the head. The internet can be very powerful and can portray many things that are skewed. There are certainly bad people everywhere, but I don't think there are as many bad people around as you think.

Thank you. You didn't necessarily answer it wrong. Buuuut I need one step further back.. what is Ranked Choice Voting? I've never heard that term before.

I'm sorry, but can you dumb this down even more for me? I feel like I understood the rest of what you said, but this line goes over my head.

Perfectly worded. I also agree completely with the rest of your comment, just wanted to highlight this line in particular.

Ford News: Ford Unveils its new Universal Vehicle Platform
The US needs a political revolution. The whole system and mostly the people in it all need to be re-done. I know there's no realistic way for something like this to happen, but it needs to happen. Both parties are so extreme in their viewpoints that 90% of the population stands in the middle. A third or even fourth party needs to be recognized, for starters.

I firmly believe that will not happen, as it shouldn't.

That's not my opinion. That was your source's information. That must mean that was a bad source with misinformation?

Trump? No, I do not think he will serve a 3rd term. That is absurd. That better not happen.

Sorry, I was just reading and quoting the article YOU posted. Are you insinuating your source of data is incorrect or invalid? No, I did not ask you a question. You can disagree with it if you'd like, but that doesn't make your feelings factual.

Yeah, it's a mixed bag that the tariffs are putting a nail in the coffin for the smaller distilleries.

Ford News: Ford Unveils its new Universal Vehicle Platform
The mid-size claim is larger than a compact Maverick though. We will see what actually come out, but a larger vehicle for Maverick money is enticing. Did you miss the whole "a whole new way to assemble a vehicle" part? That literally was what made the Model T so well known, a new way to assemble a vehicle. You genuinely believe all three will be bankrupt by 2029?

They did state in your own articles that the decline started prior to 2025. So yes, tariffs are a big part of the issue right now, but it did start with the decline of Gen Z'ers drinking less as a whole and less whiskey, too. "American whiskey sales dropped 1.8% in 2024 to $5.2 billion, according to industry data. The problem has been made worse by younger drinkers, particularly those in Gen Z who are abandoning traditional high-proof bourbon in favor of ready-to-drink canned cocktails and lighter alcoholic beverages like hard seltzers. Social media platforms, especially TikTok, have accelerated this trend by promoting sweeter, lower-alcohol drinks as fashionable alternatives to whiskey. These viral trends have fundamentally changed how young adults view alcohol consumption, dealing a significant blow to bourbon’s cultural appeal. Alcohol use among young Americans has declined sharply over the past two decades, with the share of adults under 35 who drink falling from 72% in the early 2000s to 62% today." "Binge drinking and underage drinking have dropped significantly, with Gen Z consuming 20% less alcohol per capita than Millennials did at the same age. Experts attribute the shift to growing health awareness, changing social norms, the rise of alcohol alternatives and economic or cultural forces shaping how younger generations view drinking."
