  1. If you have followed Mercedes for the last 30 years, you'd realize they will have an AMG version of most everything and the platform mate is getting the same outputs, like the C Class and GLC Class. There will be an AMG, because it's easy money for them and it will be the identical powertrain to the C63 which is; AWD 671hp/752tq. That's just how Merc operates.
  2. You can get a coupe Wrangler and I hope the brand never makes another "coupe" SUV.
  3. Ohhhh you mean the XT4 is the leading Cadillac, in sales? Maybe I'm still confused what you meant by, "Very cool, Cadillac is leading the luxury segment in selling XT4 class SUVs."
  4. I mean, only if you exclude the Corsair and NX. I'm not sure why you'd exclude those as luxury vehicles though.
  5. It's nice and all that they're racing but that's a pretty low series. It'll be more exciting when they have their hands in series like F1, NASCAR, or one of the GTD or prototype classes in IMSA.
  6. Rivian's stock is just tumbling. It closed at $13.03 today. At this point, I'm glad I never got in when it was close to IPO prices but I'm getting the itch to jump in now that it's close to $10.
  7. I don't believe any Tesla claim until it's actually available. Hell, the Model 3 only sold at it's like 35k price point for a couple months before it either wasn't available in the trim or the price went up.
  8. 81 inches wide? That's incredibly wide and would require marker lights. That may include mirrors while the Telluride and Palisade's numbers don't include the mirrors.
  9. I don't think Tesla has delivered on any major new vehicle claim yet so I don't see them getting a 25k car to market either. By the time they get something worth 25k today, the inflation costs will bring that to 30k anyway. Maybe their target is 25k with a federal tax credit so a 32,5k car. That would make more sense to me.
  10. Ford is slow to market AND everything has been filled with troubles the last 5 years. I don't think they've had a single new vehicles launch without some pretty major issue within that time period. I'd agree that taking your time and not having major issues would be great... if that was the case. What do you mean "not a phoquiing peep"? You literally just said it's all over the news right now. Their theft issues have been on every news outlet the past 6 months or so. I guess I should just limit my praise to NO MANUFACTURER because they all have their faults and if you praise one of them, you're blind to something.
  11. That's what I was thinking but I didn't actually have knowledge of it or not. Thank you!
  12. If you read my initial comment, it was a direct comparison to the legacies, GM included. You can pick a Ford fire or Toyota wheel falling off, as well. My point still stands that H/K are bringing new vehicles to market a hell of a lot faster than GM, Ford, Toyota, Honda, etc. If you're going to make a "WHAT ABOUT" argument, it's yours. "H/K are way faster at getting new products to market." "WHAT ABOUT their problems though!?!?"
  13. Are the theft issues related solely to their ICE vehicles? Do their EVs even have a key to plug in? Fire risk? Chevy bolt.
  14. Hyundai and Kia move SOOOOO much faster than the other legacy companies. They're popping out new vehicles every 6-9 months, it seems, and the other legacy companies take two years.
  15. It's such a fascinating sport, especially now that they have a spending cap. They used to be able to spend as much as they wanted therefore the top teams were spending ten times what the budget teams were. Now that there's a cap, they have to weigh more benefits/costs. For instance, Haas has gone to a much smaller pit box/wall which is saving them 250k, supposedly mostly in delivery costs, that they can then allocate to development. I love it. It may look a little silly but if it allows them more to develop their car, I'm all for that kind of thing.
  16. It's incredible how something so hidden, covered, and overlooked by non-enthusiasts can still be such a beautiful thing. That's also pretty awesome they supply a custom setup for every team, or 9 of 10 teams. This wording is confusing to me; "In 2023, Brembo's extensive presence on the grid is confirmed. The Brembo Group will supply its calipers to all 10 teams. In particular, nine teams will be supplied with Brembo calipers while a team will be supplied with AP Racing calipers, a company based in Coventry (UK) owned by the Bergamo-based company. " They say they supply calipers to all ten teams but then say one team uses AP Racing calipers...?
  17. I don't see Rivian's Normal, IL plant as an 'assembly location'. It should be roughly in the middle of the state.
  18. Happy Birthday, @oldshurst442! Hopefully we don't make you have to go on some rant today! Hahaha
  19. Ahhhh bummer, bud! Hopefully nothing actually tore and "just" physical therapy can get you moving again. Fingers crossed for a speedy recovery. I'd think you'd have MORE time sitting in front of a computer/phone now, haha.
  20. Damn, I guess the subtlety of the Tesla's had me completely overlook it.
  21. Two of those four have pretty large grill openings. They just aren't in the traditional "above bumper" location. The Olds are great examples. Personally, I think the styling of the 3 and S to be quite attractive (I do NOT like the Y & X). They're simple, clean and have RWD proportions. Yes, I believe they could do a little more up front to stand out but, I applaud them for not going the fake vent/grille route just to make "style". FWIW, the Beretta Z26 (my first car) also had a traditional grill=less design. There was obviously still a large opening for the radiator but it was below the bumper instead of above.
  22. I think you may have shared this awhile ago or maybe I just came across it elsewhere awhile ago. Either way, it's pretty crazy to have an offramp to a stoplight in such a short distance. Any car shouldn't have an issue but larger SUVs, half-ton truck and larger, and box trucks will have to really know the area to be able to make this turn or potential stop.
