  1. But Benz has 36 lesser AMGs to choose from which is all that matters, according to at least one person here! Didn’t you know this?
  2. And moving the bar again while ignoring the fundamental problem with your statement. Ever heard the phrase “quality over quantity”? And “performance SUVs”? Talk about an oxymoron with little justification for its existence other than to satisfy 1,000 people a year. Yeah, that’s a great use of R&D money (sarcasm wholly intended here).
  3. I am assuming you are including Benz in the FWD crossover and compact car category right? And AMGs? LMAO! That used to mean something before they slapped that on every other car they make, regardless of whether they had any real performance cred.
  4. The Bolt was the top selling EV last month and is in second place for the year (with a limited roll out to start off for most of the year). It is doing just fine despite your naysaying about its looks. Maybe this on the hood would improve it looks?
  5. Exactly. It’s the same reason Benz can get $140K for an acient G Wagon. As long as people are buying it then they will keep selling it for whatever price they can get.
  6. Might I suggest holding up a sarcasm sign next time becuase your dislike seemed pretty clear?
  7. Huh? Seriously. Huh? To make the statement that KIA has not improved over the years simply is as untrue a statement as one can simply make here. I have driven three different KIAs over the last few years and have been surprisingly impressed with their improvements with each model. Sure, there are always some hiccups but that can absolutely be said for a sizable portion of cars, like my wife’s HHR. The electronic gremlins in that thing are about to have a date with a match and a can of gasoline. I have also had a Lexus ES300 that should have suffered the same fate before I traded it in for a Magnum.
  8. LMAO! Pay special attention to these two words. “Damn near”. In all seriousness, I’d take a Bolt or even the new Leaf over any Fiat.
  9. I will take damn near any EV over any Fiat. Oh and being around since 1899 doesn’t mean squat in the country that sent them packing in the eighties for their many $h! boxes.
  10. Oh I understood the sarcasm but it merited a response nonetheless.
  11. Very true but early reviews (as I was alluding to earlier) have not been glowing on either of the automatics. It’s a shame because it looks far better than its competition but it is held back by the Powertrain on top of being way too much money.
  12. Not even close to worth it. $34K buys me much better cheese than a Compass. To be fair, I wouldn’t pay $27K for a Soul but that’s because I’m a cheapskate and will probably never buy another new car.
  13. How is that the voice of reason? It’s just an opinion and an opinion that is not widely shared. As stated earlier, the only thing the Compass offers over something like the Soul is AWD. Silly commercials aside, it is a great car that doesn’t have the many hassles of the Compass, like a sluggish tranny and sluggish acceleration (both common complaints on the old and new Compass). The new Compass also pushes $34K for a fully loaded model, which is $7K above any loaded Soul. Sorry, but with $34K, I can get a mid size CUV (or something better) for that kind of coin.
  14. I am sure that the new Compass is much better but initial reviews seem to share similar complaints about the CVT. It will forever be a nonstarter for me. The Soul would be the way to go although an AWD option would be nice.
  15. “Flaky” is putting it mildly. Garbage is more like it.
  16. That CVT deserves a slow and painful death and if I can help it, will be the last CVT I drive.
  17. Drove one from Arizona to NC back in May (when my dad passed away) and I really liked it. Just to illustrate how much, I had to drive a Jeep Compass (previous model, not the new one) back to Arizona and I would set that thing on fire in the middle of the freeway if I could get away with it. The Soul was infinitely better in every regard, from acceleration to looks. Simply no comparison.
  18. “The Ultimate Driving Machine” (written in quotes for a reason).
  19. I think it looks great for same reason as the interior. So much design overkill out there with no real lasting appeal. This is a refreshing break from the usually overdone BS.
