  1. Yet there are limitations to even those. The ICE has been out for well over a century yet those gains have been very gradual and there have been limitations. Examples? All the motors not being made anymore because they hit certain limitations like the Triton 5.4L. It was never going to hit certain MPGs targets as well as higher horsepower targets. That’s just one example of limitations. For the record, I never said there hasn’t been progress made with ICE but the resident EV hater seems to think that the limitations of EVs are damning enough to dismiss them entirely while ignoring the obvious progress they have made.
  2. Thus solidifying my point. There’s a camera AND a screen to contend with in that situation.
  3. Which is exactly my point to my last post. Cheaper to maintain by a country mile. Oh and some insurance coverage plans will cover a broken mirror. Your HD side view screen goes out? Better talk to the manufacturer and hope it’s still under warranty.
  4. Really? That’s your response? There’s numerous articles on this very website starting with this very article. The Bolt is gaining 21 miles per charge. That’s progress albeit small progress. That’s just one of several examples available without ever leaving this very website. Good grief car salesman. If you’re going to troll, at least make it a challenge. Now about your lying, well that is all over this website as well. Turns out it’s not so “random” and about as obvious as your insecurities about anything you don’t happen to agree with. “Surreal, don't think I don't remember when you dug in your heels insisting the Bolt IS NOT a CUV... now you say it is.“ That was a lie. Maybe that thought was a little too random for you.
  5. We know the limitations (and the history) of the ICE as well. Maybe we should just sidestep that little fact (or should I say “facts”?) to save your delicate sensibilities. Every year in the last ten years has shown progress on just about every front where EVs are concerned (from increased range, faster charges, to increased infrastructure). These are all facts that have addressed these “limitations”. Is it all the way there yet? No but again, the progress doesn’t lie. Only you.
  6. Exactly my thought. When that tech goes on the fritz (and it will) one will wish they had that low tech mirror.
  7. Don’t know why you’re confused. Balthazaar brought up the Sonic as a comparison in price to the Bolt which I think was not applicable as they are two completely different platforms, one obviously using more development dollars than the other.
  8. And the Sonic is going bye bye so... We are talking about two different sets of numbers too.
  9. Not going to happen not does it need. Most people would buy it even if it were at $40K (which I have already pointed out with the fact that there are equinoxes already selling for that kind of money) simply because it’s a reasonably sized CUV. We will just have to agree to disagree about that Sonic comparison. And I pointed it out as such while you literally offer not a damn thing because well “EVs suck”. One day you’ll show us on a doll where the EV boogeyman touched you. Never said otherwise as I also figured it was implied.
  10. Except Bolt and Sonic do not share one thing so that’s not really an apples to oranges comparison. Honestly if they could keep it at $40-42K, there would be a fair number of takers for it. Hell, a top of the line Equinox pushes and than some in certain configurations. For the record I’ve seen Bolts prices at $45K and if they can get the Nox to that price, it’s certainly a better option than the smaller and quirkier looking Bolt.
  11. I see your point but you’re speculating on that price. They would only need to sell at 10% of the equinox current sales numbers to be on track to being a more mainstream option as opposed to the niche the Bolt is. Just my opinion though.
  12. And trolling award winner strikes back with no empirical evidence to back up his baseless comment. An Equinox would certainly sell in higher numbers than a Bolt and might actually turn a profit for GM if done right, ie market the damn thing.
  13. LMAO! For the record, my comment was meant as a joke in response to Blus claim that talking about EVs too much (whatever the F that means) was not “random”.
  14. Two pages of talking about old cars and trucks is not very random. Pretty sure there is a category for this on this site.
  15. That Jolt has a definite Cadillac ELR vibe but it would never work. To get EVs truly into the mainstream conscience, you have to start with CUVs sadly. Once that happens, then niche cars like the Jolt idea can be explored.
  16. Personally I wouldn’t worry about the troll who brought up the “concern” because it was an obvious trolling/butthurt comment. Complete with a disco ball and a mirrored ceiling! Got to make it feel special!
  17. I second the dealership knowledge part and will add this little tidbit. I cannot tell you how many times I had to drive or just simply move a car because certain sale people couldn’t drive a damn stick! I get that it’s a niche market for those now but it baffles me how a sale person can claim to be knowledgeable about a car but can’t actually drive it. Today’s world.
  18. Then there’s some good ole depression era Mississippi delta blues.
  19. Pay attention next time and I won’t have to correct you (and provide a link) again Spanky.
  20. You really want to talk about “elitism” with that BS you spouted about me yesterday? Seriously? Next time just call yourself a hypocrite and remove all doubt. So criticize the SMK way yet use it as your reason for Diesel sales being in the toilet? What I’m seeing out of your hypocrisy is that excuses for diesels are okay but not when it comes to EVs. Face it. Outside of the heavy duty pick up market and some other commercial uses, the AVERAGE BUYER in this country (buying it for themselves and not for business) don’t care about diesels. This has been true for nearly half a century now yet the dinosaurs can’t see that very obvious writing on the wall. And regarding the cylinder count in the GM twins, that is not the problem. I drove the Colorado Diesel last year and was pleasantly surprised (thank you torque) by it. It is not lacking for ability as a commercial use truck because of having two fewer cylinders. Any reasonable person would understand that after one drive. Again though, the average buyer just doesn’t care and probably because the full size diesel pick up market is just that dominant and tends to render smaller pick ups rather useless in their eyes, whether the reason is valid or not. Oh and I provided the source of those numbers on the previous page. Since you have a habit of reading what you want to read, here’s a screenshot and said link. https://www.dieselforum.org/vehiclesales/u-s-vehicle-sales-dashboard
  21. Proper reading comprehension and sticking to the subject were never his forte. Cut him some slack.
  22. 26 years in the biz yet it is you who doesn’t get it. More and more folks are using the internet to do just that so enjoy being left behind if you seriously think that he doesn’t get it.
  23. Thanks. Here’s two for you the next time you want to try and insult someone over where they worked and what they did just because you don’t approve of the subject matter. The issues with the Bolt are pretty simple. Either market the hell out of it to increase sales and awareness or cease selling it and move on towards better applications of EV tech like an actual CUV or SUV. It certainly is a better use of money than investing in diesels that no one wants. Combined sales of the Colorado and Canyon (both less than the Bolt for the year) back this up.
  24. Then here’s some classic rock for ya’. From one of my top ten all time favorite albums. Also in my top ten.
  25. Sadly wagons represent far less than that when it comes market penetration. (At least in the US anyway).
