  1. Doesn't look like a very fast assembly line ...
  2. @A Horse With No Name Been out for a while, so if you are interested: Ford Will Sell You a 320-HP Performance Tune for Your Ranger https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/a32170394/ford-performance-ranger-tune/
  3. You are correct, my bad. The first roadster, Model S and X used AC induction motors. They had DC batteries and inverter for the motors. But starting with Model 3 they switched to permanent magnet DC motors. I forgot. Funny, is that our local EV expert and guru didn't correct me ...
  4. What bugs me the most as an engineer, as all these companies use Nicola Tesla name for their EVs, but he was a big proponent of AC current and designed AC motor, not DC batteries and DC motors they are using. I don't think any of his ideas has to do anything with EV cars or trucks.
  5. I don't think you should be talking, you are lucky you can work from home but when you do drive your vehicles are way more polluting then ocnblu truck. So how about stopping with hypocrisy, at least until you actually buy an EV?
  6. I agree, I really dislike the exterior. I thought maybe in person it looks better, but I recently saw one on the road and it doesn't. The interior looks very good.
  7. If I had to choose between new Spark and used Bolt there is no doubt in my mind I would go with Bolt. I have a daily commute of about 85miles. Even if used Bolt had a decreased range (even half of the original range) it would still be more than enough for my daily use. My local Costco and my work don't have chargers yet but I could charge it overnight at my home.
  8. Show me a new decently equipped car that starts at $15k. Cheapest Spark in my 50mile radius has MSRP of $19.6k.
  9. Why compare used cars to new EVs. New ICE average car price now is above $36k. On average EVs are still more expensive, but already plenty of used EVs already on the market: 2017 Bolt - $17k https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?zip=07751&showNegotiable=true&sortDir=ASC&sourceContext=carGurusHomePageModel&distance=100&sortType=PRICE&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d2397#listing=278198839 2015 Leaf - $10k https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?zip=07751&showNegotiable=true&sortDir=ASC&sourceContext=carGurusHomePageModel&distance=50&sortType=PRICE&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d2077#listing=279101307 2017 Leaf -13k https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?zip=07751&showNegotiable=true&sortDir=ASC&sourceContext=carGurusHomePageModel&distance=50&sortType=PRICE&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=d2077#listing=278534587 2016 Model S - $37k https://www.cargurus.com/Cars/inventorylisting/viewDetailsFilterViewInventoryListing.action?zip=07751&showNegotiable=true&sortDir=ASC&sourceContext=carGurusHomePageModel&distance=50&sortType=PRICE&entitySelectingHelper.selectedEntity=m112#listing=270792319
  10. Respect!
  11. Didn't you hate Ford with passion? 50 mile radius from where I live: Cheapest V8 Camaro - $37.5k Cheapest V8 Mustang - $38k Most expensive 86 - $29.6k
  12. Again, this car is fully loaded costs $34k it starts at $27k. 370Z starts at $31k, fully loaded it reaches $45k (which is ridiculous by itself) 370Z weight is 3200lbs minimum, 86 weight is 2800lbs. Could 86 use more power? Absolutely! But comparing fully loaded car to a bare bones Mustang, Camaro or 370Z is stupid. Mustang Ecoboost starts at 27k too but it will be a pig compared to 86 or Miata. It has 300 hp but weight 3600lbs. I can tell you one thing, in autocross were agility and handling is the priority there are only few cars that rule: Miata, 86/BRZ, Corvette and 911/Cayman.
  13. C8 Corvette vs Audi R8 vs Porsche 911 Carrera S (on track) https://www.roadandtrack.com/new-cars/a33849608/c8-corvette-vs-audi-r8-vs-porsche-911-track-test/ Porsche 911 Carrera S ($113k min) - 1:53.5 Audu R8 ($160k) - 1:54.2 Corvette Z51 ($65k) - 1:54.6 I think when Z06 comes out it will blow both Audi and Porsche out of the water while still being substantially cheaper.
  14. Everyone gets caught up on the price of the fully loaded car. It has a bunch of options really not necessary for the driving enjoyment.
  15. I usually buy at Costco, somewhat limited selection with only few brands they carry but pretty much unbeatable prices. Too bad they don't do alignment as well. I don't have NTB nowhere near where I live. Also, surprising Tirerack is not on the list.
  16. Sure, lets compare apples to oranges. FWD souped up hatchback and RWD sporty coupe. I bet you never driven either one but rush to make such statements.
  17. Most articles say 3 to 6 month. If gas has ethanol, than even sooner.
  18. Gas can start going bad in about 3 month, and will damage your fuel system.
  19. I hope you put some gas stabilizer ...
  20. Bumper protector? https://www.ebay.com/itm/VANGUARD-07-13-CHEVROLET-AVALANCHE-FRONT-BUMPER-PROTECTOR-GUARD-BULL-BAR-S-S-/191517026990
  21. I believe XC60 is already safest car in the world by rating of the US and European safety agencies and by accident statistics. And that's Volvo's best selling car in US and Europe.
  22. My wife and me still have to come to work everyday, and we did few road trips. I expect us to put about the same mileage as before. But plenty of people I know will have maybe only 10% of the mileage they used to do.
  23. 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor Will Have 700+ HP Supercharged V8 from Mustang GT500 https://www.thedrive.com/news/35890/2021-ford-f-150-raptor-will-have-700-hp-supercharged-v8-from-mustang-gt500-report
  24. Were you drunk when you typed this? I really hope you were drunk ...
  25. The perceived image is that they still buying car/suv from the best luxury automaker.
