Some truth to this....more of an out of the box look here.... I'm expecting car sales as a whole to start dropping quite soon....for one (and a big one)-it is an election year- and people are scared right now in what is going to happen. Yeah, we could argue about the past- but right now it is a big deal. and questions about the ecomony as well..... Thinking many outside factors here....

Afterthoughts: The Mitsubishi/Nissan U.S. Conundrum
daves87rs replied to William Maley's topic in Opinion
Thinking it's pointless to have Mitsu here....unless they want it to compete with someone (aka "AWD"). It's going to have to at least start a niche, or it is going to drown even before it gets the chance to start. I think FCA bought into it more for other markets anyways...upgrading the core products, and adding a few new ones. As it gets stronger out there, maybe think about bringing it back here to pair with FCA products here in the states at the same dealership..... Mitsu offers no value but the markets that it is in....might also be what they are after as well....- 3 replies

Buick News: Buick Makes it Official, Verano Disappears in 2017
daves87rs replied to William Maley's topic in Buick
Simply put-sedans are disappearing fast. I'm betting even the might civic is going to lose sales to it's newer CUvs... The writing is on the wall for small cars....so in Buick's case, in makes sense. Pretty sure the Regal is next.....- 54 replies

GM News: GM to Offer Stop-Start on Most of Their Lineup By 2020
daves87rs replied to William Maley's topic in General Motors
In the eAssist systems, it's just a giant alternator that can also be a 15 horsepower electric motor, attached to the crank pulley via a thicker than normal serpentine belt. The technical difference is so minor..... it's nothing to worry about. The current start/stop system is just the old eAssist system with a smaller battery and smaller alternator/motor which doesn't assist the engine during acceleration. Given all of GM's other troubles over the past 10 years, the fact that we've heard basically nothing bad about the reliability of eAssist should tell us something. That said... this announcement sounds like a different setup than the eAssist in that it runs through the transmission instead, making it more of a traditional starter. Yeah, kinda what I figure as well. GM does not always tend to be on the forefront of stuff, but tends to make sure it is right and solid when it comes out....- 22 replies

Kinda passed the oil change stuff...both her car and my Balt got Synthetic 5w30 (pennzoil Ultra/Plat ) and Delco filters this round.... When I get to the other car, it will get some Mobil 1 0w30 and a Delco filter too...

Also would not be surprised if these companies all come together and buy FCA outright. Just getting the huge chain of dealerships to sell their cars would make it worth it the chinese car companies...tech center, tracks and factories. Short of Jeep-all FCAs brands and models could pretty much just disappear. It's the foot hole needed to get into the USA market....and with Fiat, even the Euro market... Can see it happening....not too long in the future either. Wife would like a Patroit on our driveway before they're gone- and if it happens I'm sure it would be the last FCA product ever owned.... That is what I mean. China would get FCA accept Jeep, Ram and Ferrari with maybe some associated brands like Maserati and Alfa. Fiat and Lancia and all the Chrysler brands would go and they would share the dealers as outlets. Jeep and Ram still could go as part of the deal seeing Sergio is making the Move to Ferrari too. Kinda...They could live without the brands themselves....maybe keep Jeep and Ram....all the rest could be reaplaced with chinese brands...I would think they would want new and exciting, while offering say-and old Kia type warranty to get the trust for people to buy.... Let's be honest. Would missing any of FCA's brand going to really cause any uproars in this "new" market?

Agree with Drew...would be wise to get the plan if you bought it... Most of these bad boys get leased anyways....not sure if I'd buy one used anyways. The 3.6 is very hard of oil, and most owners barely get the oil changed. That, and they suck gas....there are 2 of these monsters on side side of my family alone! They hold up well for those who care for them though...
