  1. The day I was looking last week, they had one AWD turbo that was listed as an early least return for 21k and 14k miles. Next day it was gone. My guess is the Buick dealers wouldn't sell or couldn't sell the eAssist models so Buick ate it, fleeted them and is talking a loss and giving dealers a chance to sell them used. Not sure how Buick and gm can take one year old cars like that and watch them lose 40%....in the old days it was expected but the regal is a better car than that. Me and my dad are speculating when the bottom will fall out of Cruze diesel pricing.
  2. There is a glut of used 14's on the market for cheap. Was it possible there were some fleet only regals without turbo OR eAssist? For the pricing I could live with less go juice for 30mpg everyday. That would be a luxurious 'econocar' alternative at that price. Cobalt only gets 27-28 in winter anyways.
  3. Both this and the new Volvo give off wagon vibes The BMW x machines are just wagons too (x1, x3). The new mercs scream wagon too
  4. I know we've had a LaCrosse eAssist reviewed before but does anyone have experience with an eAssist Regal? Sounds whack but there are some 2014's on the used market here for about 18,5 and about 15k miles on them. Wonder about real mpg and if any reliability issues. Might be an option for a daily driver for me that I did not consider before. Otherwise thinking about Passat 1.8, Malibu, fusion etc as well as some smaller cars. Regal would be a huge upgrade.
  5. I agree with viper Audi mails it in these days. Their sheeple drink the kool aid tho. BMW too
  6. Thing is, the previous Passat sold like crap. When VW made the current one mammoth sized and with a lesser interior, their sales went up huge in comparison. VW wants volume. Current passat is one of those cars when optioned up it is pretty nice inside. A base trim with black interior and the nasty cloth is pretty bad. Current Malibu is sort of like that. Most of the LT models have the terrible black cloth etc. get an LTZ with the light leather and tan plastics and it's a big difference.
  7. The Fusion and Taurus both still do well in these parts, and the Taurus sells for much higher prices than it used to. And they sell for very high prices on the used market too. Lots of people love the heft of the latest Taurus. It even takes sales from e MKs. So for ford at least the fusion does bang up but there is still a healthy market for the lower volume higher profit taurus. I'm part of the bunch that thinks the CTS may have needed to be STS. CTS name doesn't yet mesh with people's expectation on price. GM is having a bit of a rough go on some of their prices lately. New regals seem to be fire sales on the lots vs msrp and I've already seen used 2014 regals with about 15k miles showing up on lots here at around 21k price. Including one with AWD for that price. Why can't GM bring the money? To me part of it is their car sizes are smaller than expected.
  8. one local dealer is advertising new CTS for about 16k off list...on their website.... DeNishen needs to get that he can push the price of caddies up all he wants. there still is a major chore in finding the ceiling on what people will pay. as for me, i would love to pounce on one of these ATS or CTS deals. http://www.walserchevroletbuick.com/new-inventory/index.htm?search=&make=CADILLAC&model=ATS&model=CTS&model=XTS&saveFacetState=true&lastFacetInteracted=inventory-listing1-facet-anchor-model-5
  9. I actually would highly consider a light optioned inexpensive 2.7 ecoboost short box f150. That would be a cool truck. So would the dodge. Gm pickups look old and frumpy to me.
  10. My boss got rid of his Chevy and got a ram, I've been in it a few times, it's a great truck. Try to find a Pentastar ram. You almost can't they sell fast. I think chevy got the size right on Colorado. It's capable for most casual hauling and svelte enough so it doesn't feel like a big fat truck. Ford bet the farm on aluminum and turbos. From the standpoint of amortizing future technologies over a huge selling product it's a great idea. But otherwise the truck itself doesn't bring much new in styling or packaging. Which is not a bad thing, it's just ford trucks are evolving not breaking ground, even if they are pushing new technology.
  11. I can't recall if silver ado has MT but in theory if Colorado had wider MT application then perhaps they could scrap MT on that.
  12. I blame Johan for not being pragmatic here. You've got to build something back here. The ATS and CTS are fantastic cars but are both flawed in ways that keeps them from being sold. One, obviously the pricing and packaging is off. You can't force the market up in price until you earn it. You need some volume to support healthy dealerships (unless he is deliberately starving the dealerships so he can cut them). I don't care if his model is to have more global sales, you still need a certain market penetration in the US. So either put more stuff in the car for the price or drop some pricing on her upper priced ones and get them in drivers hands. Get the ATS out there to snag A3 and CLA buyers. Offer the aggressive leases the Germans do. Try to build certified sales and product to boost your residuals. Two, styling and size. I like the new crop of caddies but admit they are all flawed in some way. And there is no Cadillac sedan available to those who want a large car. Johan doesn't care but if that's the case why is the S class so successful ? Comfort is a luxury these days. What's wrong with leg room? They need to build the ATS-L body here with the extra legroom. Fix the ugly parts of the CTS. Get three all new crossovers pronto. Incentives need to be pushed to sell XTS to add volume. No one is looking at the XTS to carry the performance torch anyways, might as well offer it as a great value Cadillac and a bridge car until CT6 launch results are known. Improve all the interiors to keep up with the Audi's and Mercedes. There's about 100 things you could say about Cadillac but not enough time.
  13. I've test driven the outlander sport several times including the 2015. The 2015 + cvt gets it right. Aside from that it is the perfect small crossover for a lot of folks. Don't get the stick get the CVT. Word is the 2.4 will be added as an option mid season. A relative was over for tgiving. They own a lancer and just got a new 14 outlander sport. They love it. For me the biggest flaw on the OS is the seat backs in the rear row don't recline.
  14. I think Audi has always appealed to those uptight folks who want stuff 'just so'.....very conservative designs but for example interiors with really tight fits and gaps and interesting and nice material textures and finishes. It's more about it being like contemporary art. Attention to fine detail. These folks would drop 100 bucks on a pair of jeans because of the stitching pattern and the name. I dispute highly the notion that people buy Audi's for performance. For awhile, when their AWD was exclusive, it was another differentiator. Now its just an asset for them. Cadillac's big problem in one aspect has been even though their interiors are nice, I don't think they have ever had the precision that one of those Audi bangers would find appealing. Seats aren't taut enough, the padded surfaces are a bit fluffy. the precision of which things are put together is not 100% there yet. Plus Cadillac interiors still probably seem a bit overstyled for the Audi set although i think they are great in comparison to a lot of the BMW interiors. Mercedes really has jumped back to the front of the pack on a lot of interior stuff. I really do think interiors drives a lot of it. A huge percentage of lux car makes is crossovers now. I don't think performance drives luxury sales as much as some think, except maybe BMW. I think though the performance has to be available to those few that want it.
  15. good decision. won't sell a bunch but it fits the brand and will add a few sales.....you know, since VW wants to like double sales or something.
  16. please do, i think its crap myself
  17. spit my drink out marketers gone wild funny, but a large part of the population eats it up. Lincoln is moving up the charts due to fluff and caddy will rot because their hardware is awesome but they don't build enough crossovers etc.......
