  1. my take is they really went plain on the passat and jetta and its coming back to bite em. that, and the 2.5 boat anchor was in the hopper too long. the 1.8t should revive some interest. No they need some mid cycle styling refreshes on the Jetta and Passat, and redesign the interiors a bit. build love for the new golf and sell the $h! out of the diesels. stiff competition is a bit at fault too. Jetta's focus has been watered down a bit. It's now a hybrid and a diesel, it needs more ads just as a basic good value car in its class. With style. I still think the transformation of the Beetle into something that has some macho to it is fabulous. Its a cool coupe now, not a big rolling bubble.
  2. If you turn Buick overtly into a cush ride division again, the old rep of floating couches and old persons cars will come back around. You gotta portray some youth and sportiness at least to get good press. Part of that is having a few models geared towards sport. May not have to be a GS. But seriously, how could this not be attractive here?
  3. what the f-k is a TLX? I did like the previous TL. And the TSX. But neither would fly to the top of the list when confronted with other choices. Acura, Buick, Lincoln are the types of brands that do not stand out against the first tier of luxury makes. They probably have more appeal to brand loyal Chevy, Ford, and Honda fans who want a nicer car. (not knocking Buick there as Cadillac is the GM brand). Infiniti is sort of on the same path. What the eff are they doing? Strangely enough, Lexus seems to be trying to do some things to keep a pole position in the luxury market. Only if to be able to keep the doors open to sell more crossovers. I do think it is sort of to the point where Honda may actually improve the Acura or premium Honda models popularity by combining the sales channel in some locations. When the RLX is your flagship and your mainstream sedan is not a TL but now a TLX? when really the names Integra, Legend, Vigor, still hold much more cache ...........
  4. Blu, how about '4 door coupes'? I think the Astra 3 door as a verano hot hatch I have no Idea why we don't have that here yet? LAcrosse GS would just be a cheaper XTS V
  5. I don't like the GTR. Too ricer.
  6. Often the Prius drivers are the ones holding up traffic and driving stupid.
  7. I'd buy a vette v6 turbo
  8. My dad was already talking about the new diesel today....
  9. The current CTS coupe is among the most unique designs on the market, it really pushes the envelope for no deck. The CTS coupe has a dramatically different impression depending on whether it is in motion, or still, whether it is close to you, or far, and what color. A black CTS coupe at speed from a distance is quite striking to watch in motion. That said, Cadillac is probably not going to risk that radical a look on the ATS coupe since they want success with it outside the US. I'd have no trouble owning a current CTS coupe, except I dislike the dash.
  10. the drive is prob better than ever, but the int and exterior are pretty behind the curve. Interior in particular is quite dated.
  11. fine and good but i would prefer my state get rid of the ethanol mandate. Let us choose at the pump if we want ethanol in any of our fuel. I like having E85 as a choice. I do not want E10 and E15 forced down my car's throat.
  12. nice improvements. Still a better rig than a civic or corolla to me, but not as fun as a focus or cruze. I bet my kids would like the rear heated seats of the limited. The new engine is a big plus.
  13. to me a 200 sized vehicle is a successor to the avenger in spirit.
  14. the sonic dusk info has been in their 2014 brochure.......nice pictures, it looks sharp.
  15. this car sucks, should be dropped, like the Cadenza with it
  16. what if you simply like the feel and sound of an overhead cam turbo vs. a v8?
  17. sharp. If they had brought the UTe back as a chevy and a companion to the SS, they could have used the SSR moniker again.
  18. could they get about 350hp with a 3.2t v6? That would be to me where a mid level CTS would spec out nicely.
  19. or i mixed it up. the 1.4 turbo with its lag is getting a rep, and if it's like the one i drove on the 500L Fiat, the lag was reprehensible on the stick version, the automatic covered it up a bit more. It just seems bizarre to consider this for the dart. What's more likely is that the Avenger successor may be based or stretched off the Dart and have a similar platform and that it would get the v6.
  20. interior is only mildly evolved but they did fix some stuff. I hated that center speedo. Still dislike the big circle in the center.
  21. the VW mill as it is is rated lower than the actual output but yes, it's not near what the GM turbo puts out. The 1.8t runs on 87 fuel, I read that VW may be developing a new 2.0 but that it would likely be an uplevel mill that ran on premium. Ford's Ecoboost 1.5 must be high strung. 300cc less than the passat and probably close to the same acceleration.
  22. the effective size difference is next to nothing. the tiny size increase didn't make the car any more useful in terms of a lot of extra space, apparently. the turbo 3 will be interesting. the big flaw here is not evolving the look. no CVT? lol
  23. if they are really contemplating this, it really highlights the disappointment of the whole multiair engine.
  24. at the present time, with the CTS not having an AWD with the TT, the XTS V Sport would be where I would lean first, if I wanted all the hp (and a little more rear leg room). Plus the new schoz on the XTS V sport looks really nice with just subtle changes. I know lots of folks like the long hood aesthetic of a RWD car, and I do to. But I also like how so many new models where the greenhouse is really stretched out. The ATS to me has a little bit nicer proportion of length in the greenhouse relative to the hood and trunk than the CTS does to me. I think the CTS could have possibly shortened the hood and the trunk a tiny bit....not so much as to match the 08-13 CTS, which has almost no hood in comparison....Maybe it's got more to do with the shaping of the hood and trunk for me. There are certain angles and clean in certain colors where the long expanses of chrome with the third side windows on the XTS really give dramatic effect to how the XTS slices through space. It's sleek and different than the ATS and CTS with their more traditional three box styling. I wonder if over time which will win out....say in the future. Will more cars be monoform like the XTS or will cars revert to a very defined 3 box? My only fear here is Caddy went to the extent it did on the three box style only because the Germans do it and that is how luxury is identified.
