October 2018: Ford Motor Company
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Sales Figure Ticker
As enthusiasts though in some ways we are spoiled rotten by modern Iron. That is blisteringly quick. Now if someone woyld just dump say a 455 into something like a late 50s Buick and get it on the road we would be in business. -
Thought of trinicria Bob the other morning. No 747 passenger flights into Columbus but freighters cone into Richenbacker down where I live all of the time. 747 taking off and heading west low over our neighborhood....6 or 700 feet...morning sun...gorgeous. Was also saddened to find that a 747 had been destroyed in an accident this week. It has been a bad week for aircraft...737 that was nearly new was destroyed with the loss of all hands...that 747...and a 757 just ran off a runway and was destroyed.

Audi News: Rumorpile: Audi TT May Morph Into A Sedan
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Audi
Stupidity is seldom a force to slow anyone down on this planet, automotive or otherwise. -
The darker the world gets the more I like the inside of my garage workshop. And given the current state of the world...I am glad my shop doesn't have any windows... Volvo is building some sweet looking Iron though, so I wish them well.

Audi News: Rumorpile: Audi TT May Morph Into A Sedan

It is sexy enough as a coupe. For Friday, i am just going to be happy to be alive and living in a country where I can enjoy cool cars. They have a Trabant on display at the Air Force Museum in Dayton. Now THAT is misery...and a car that doesn't need to exist in sedan form. -
I feel a huge difference between say 47 and 53. But i work physically every day...I can't imagine sitting behind a monitor for a living. Twenty four years ago, 29 felt fine!

October 2018: Ford Motor Company

This is pure hotness. Navigator is indeed top of the heap. ...and towing trailers much larger in Kentucky horse country. My sons Fiancee wants a G Wagen so bad she can taste it....I don't see the appeal myself. -
Again...I think they need something more uniquely Ford.

Ford plays it safe here I think...could probably safely tow more. -
How Hyundai Motor, once a rising star, lost its shine
A Horse With No Name replied to balthazar's topic in Hyundai
I like the looks of the Stinger GT but the rest of the lineup needs serious help in a multitude of ways. -

The Aviator and Navigator are exactly what Ford needs to build to survive and keep the Brand fresh. Look...I am a harsh critic of Ford....and even I think they got those two just dead right. Their larger SUV's seem to be doing fine. -
Lexus News: Lexus Adds the ES To Their Japan Lineup
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in Lexus
I actually like the ES, but am in a bit of a minority here on that. -
My friends Focus has like 60K on it...shifts a bit awkward, but not terrible. He likes the car and drives it everywhere....he had a Saturn before the Focus. If you blame Ford for all of the crappy transmissions they put in Focus and Fiesta, you have to give them credit for the decent transmissions they put in everything else IMHO. And while we are bitching about transmissions, how about many of the older Nissan CVT transmissions? Those made the Ford Focus and Fiesta seem as smooth as 20 year old Scotch by comparison....and yet few people ever pan them.

Been Following Acorn to Arabella on you tube...kind of cool. Building a reproduction of a 1934 Sailing yacht to sail the world....entirely from scratch.

Obviously you are a man who enjoys a walk on the wild side and taking chances... Just kidding. My beef with Ford is not that they build bad transmissions, it is that they need to be building more class leading product.

Awkward back seat layout and ungainly styling from the rear kill the current Focus for me.

The sad thing about Atlanta was that when I lived there ranches like that were being torn down on a seeminly daily basis to build McMansions. People were paying at times a million dollars for a teardown. If you google westport now and teardown you can find ten and fifteen million dollar teardowns.

A modern base spec fiesta is just as much of a pentalty box to drive.

For the price of the coffee she should vacuum the floors and cook you dinner.

...and that is one reason their corporate identity is dilluted and I rant on endlessly so.

Exactly why I built my own. But those cabinets are particularly ugly.
