GMC News: 2018 GMC Terrain To Begin At $25,970
A Horse With No Name replied to William Maley's topic in GMC Trucks
I just like the diesel rumble, actually...this thing with a mild tune and an exhaust would be awesome... -
Let's bear in mind that Both GM and Tesla are trying to Walk through the Front door and do the right thing at least 85 percent of the time. Most American companies are not nearly so ethical. I went to buy a table saw blade the other day at my favorite woodworking store...blades made in Mexico, France, Italy, Germany, China, Japan, and Taiwan...but zero made in the USA. The problem of outsourcing is much larger than just one car maker. Also, when we export jobs, everyone's wages fall...it is not a zero sum game, but in general, if we don't produce anything, we have no real hard capital of sorts to buy items.

The French seem like a logical choice to me for a number of reasons. -

Hmmm...with the diesel...this might prove quite the highway cruiser... -
As drew said, GM is now self sufficient and profitable, Tesla is not. And in 2024 when this becomes a reality...Tesla will not ahve the experience GM does in building cars. At some point an idea needs to go from a concept to a production reality, and here GM has 100 years experience, Tesla does not.

It is really hard to have any kind of rational and intelligent discussion bout cars anywhere, which is why I value these forums so much. Oh and guys, thanks for this thread and a bunch of others that have been civil and intelligent. Vibe was not a bad car, matrix was not a fantastic one... -

I had a similar Olds advert hanging on my bedroom wall as a teen. That might give the Mustang Fastback a run for its money in terms of my affection...I have a real soft spot for the 46-54 ERA GM cars, Olds and Pontiac in particular. Not that far of a drive, actually. -

Just pic something and post it, its bound to be interesting. The Chrysler convertible reminds me of the time my father and I looked at one of those new...must have been back when I was in High school. A3 TDI would be a neat car to own...actually. I absolutely love that Era of Oldsmobile. -
Back on topic, I know of several people who have bought these new 2015's. My wife brought up finding a 2015 TDI Beetle manual for her to drive, i may look at one...still wildly unsure of what I want to replace the Jetta with.

And I thought my great aunts 68 Buick Wildcat had a large rear end... Absolutely! I have a large Maine coon cat that loves pizza, actually.

Black label is an interesting marketing concept but a poor use of fiscal resources IMHO. Agree, nice, nothing spectacular. I do not see Tesla used selling anywhere near as cheaply as you suggest though. Escalade holds its value very well...must be a lot of want to be rappers and low level professional athletes floating around...(Just kidding bro, Horse ducks from wrench thrown from Washington to Ohio....!) -

The tech is impressive but Tesla is Lincoln or Acura level at the very most.
