  1. ...yes...it does...and I am sorry if I offended you. Just wanting to make the point that we didn't know what we had when we had it... Chris
  2. ...oh, and Cletus...if you want to use your paintball skills with real ammo...I can take you to the impound lot where that Buick got crushed... Chris
  3. Honda Clarity See, If Icould have posted after Monaco I could have said "F1" or Grand Prix...but no... I have to talk about a green car... Chris
  4. Ned's Floating Lounge
  5. It is a step in the right direction...but were I to be buying a RWD car for 30K I can think of others (370Z, Camaro, Mustang, Challenger, et al) that are still much better. Well done review, though. Chris
  6. Thanks, DF, I'll check out the website for NEAM. We have a nice airshow coming to Cleveland on Labor Day weekend, may go up for that. Chris
  7. And even then, I'd like to see them close Germain Toyota and Hatfield Toyota/Toyota West here in Columbus. We have about eleventy billion times too many new car dealers. Chris
  8. Ughhh...you haven't had a "real" philly cheese steak sandwich then. Enough good cheese to give even Lance Armstrong hardened arteries... Chris
  9. Thank Goddess that thing runs great! Let me know if you need anything specific for her, local pick and pull I've been telling you about just got a bunch of new cars, quite a few of them MOPAR. Chris
  10. Interesting...when the three of four engenes on the B-17 ran today, they sounded almost a little bit like a 440 a buddy used to have in a GTX when I was in high school. No wonder you like the 17 so much, DF... Seriously though...come to the Air Force Museum at Dayton some time. You'd love it! I'd love to go to the one you went to. And on my "bucket list" of things to do before I die is to go to Oshkosh one year for the air show. Have you ever been to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museeum, DF, or the Annex? Chris
  11. Quizno's is excellent as well. I miss back in the way back when my wife and I were dating and she was living in Philly. Talk about SUBS... People in Philly and Atlanta know how to eat. Chris
  12. Interesting...I never knew that they tried a 5th engene on the B-17. Chris
  13. So...this was a big Saturday for me. I had a choice of 1. SCCA autocross 2. Dublin/Arthritis auto show, where the Miata club was showing our cars 3. Goodguys in Columbus...6000+ pre 73 American cars. But I decided to do something else. The Liberty Belle, a restored, flying B-17 was going to be at Bolton field here in Grove City (Columbus suburb where I live). I contacted the good folks with the Liberty Belle foundation and for a mere $430 they had a few seats left. Life was good. Went out to the airport at 9:30 this ayem and went through the plane with my two younger daughters, Christina and Joanna. Amazing plane, and very original with radio's, etc. First group got set for their ride and....one of the big radial motors on the plane decided it didn't want to run. Flying display turns into a "static" display, and I'm not going to be able to fly. At least I'm $430 closer to paying off the Miata and getting a Solstice or a MINI Cooper S. Or I'm telling myself that anyways. So right now it's raining like crazy, don't think much is going on at either car show. Glad I'm not trying to race in the rain. Instead of Flying in a B-17, racing my car, or going to a couple of big car shows...I'm going to get off of the computer and help my wife fold laundry. Once I get that done, the bathroom sink get's fixed, and I may paint one of the kids rooms. Lovely way to ruin a Saturday. Chris
  14. This is just human stupidity at it's worst. Why should Chryco or GM be forced to sell their product through any dealer they don't want to? Subway sets standards for its franchises...if we let Subway make its own mind up about a sandwich...shouldn't GM and Chryco be able to make their own minds up about who they let sell their cars? Chris
  15. Thinking back on this, a big part of what he is spending $ on is also stuff he would upgrade on his theoretical 20k driver... Chris
  16. Thanks !!!TED!!! keep them coming. I'm with 'blu, these are fabulous. Chris
  17. Decent fuel economy numbers... Chris
  18. American Clusterf@#k
  19. But your right, Camino...I LOVE that wagon. Chris
  20. I would agree to a point. Or even start with a car halfway in the middle or something... Will be an amzing car done...but I could never do that. I don't mess with rusty cars. Chris
  21. One of the guys in our local VW club has a son who just got an Astra. the 18" wheels, two door, everything you could get on it, the blue that is beautiful... For 13K out the door from a dealer in Cincy. don't wait to long or they will be gone. And I am one of 7 people in the USA that wants a small car. People will want small cars in the USA when gas goes to $4.50 a gallon, and it will. Cars like the Soul, Scion xB, etc. still sell as small cars. I just want GM to put GM goodness into a small car, and not give me a crapbox fleet grade Aveo or a fleet grade Cruze. The new Focus looks wonderful, and I will be possibly writing a check to Ford if the interior is anywhere near as good as the Mustangs. Chris
  22. Agreed. And let's not call the Solstice/Sky kappa twins failures. They are both great cars. In some ways I like them both better than the Z3/Z4, Miata, Boxster, S2000, et all.. Chris
  23. They will figure that out in about 2013 when it's really too late... Chris
  24. Cletus, a very decent 64 buick drop top was in the impound lot behind Loeb Electric on Huntly road here in Columbus a few months back. Was a pretty solid, running driving car with a little rust in the quarters. Think it went to the crusher intact... ...and Camino...you thought I was kidding when I sent you photo's of that GTO that went off of the cliff in Greece a few months ago. You need to get the Wagon, the Mothertruck, and the El-Camino finished so you can start on that GTO (just kidding!). Great workmanship...and the guy building it is also a VW nut. Like the Maroon bubletop he picked up as well. I have a soft spot for bubbletops of the era, but methinks I'd rather have the ragtop. Admire the guys work... Chris
