It was kind of interesting...in the Miata club we have a car called "ketchup and Mustard" because it is a red car with yellow stripes. Was thinking of calling that guy, and passed a whole car carrier full of new Camaro's on I-70, and all of the Camaro's were red or yellow. My sightings have been a little strange, after not seeing them for years I've seen almost a dozen VW air cooled powered sand rails out in the wild and on the street. Passed on this ayem in fact. Also, two of god's own original clean LTD two doors, a white 71 and a green 75. Both looked showroom fresh. After seeing the white 71 Vette and the Yellow 72 Vette, and telling ya'll about it...saw a white 71 Mustang Mach one and a yellow 72 Mustang Mach 1. Odd. Also a BMW 1 series set up as an autocross or track day car, by itself on a car carrier headed somehwere. Also, must be that gm4life has made me more aware of them...but I've seen a lot of IMPY SS FWD cars in black lately...several of them sweetly detailed and very clean... Also, an air cooled VW bus in orange and white... Chris

Try it on a motorcycle. I have several friends that ride, and they tell me a big bridge with a bike is a lot of fun, esp. with the wind blowing. My friend Rick was talking the other day about the Macinaw bride in Michigan, which has those grates where you can look strait down 200 feet into the water, and how much fun it was to ride over that! Personally, I think bridges and tunnels with a roadster are a blast... Chris

I can think of several...I've had to fix lift stations, which are basically pits with electric pumps to store and move crap/raw sewage. Pumping one out and replacing the motors is about eleventy billion times worse than a litter box. Chris

That is a very rare car...in 74 I was in the 4th grade and my teacher was going to order a 4 speed two door Grand Am manual shift from Pontiac. Pontiac called the dealer back and said that he couldn't get cruise control with a manual, so he switrched to auto. I probably have the wrong stat, but I remember reading somehwere that less than 200 Grand Am's were built with a manual in 1974. Wish that car was in better condition, ti would make a nice family hauler. Chris

You think this is funny...but several years ago I worked a second part time job at auto zone. We had an enraged customer who came in just screaming because the tourque converter he'd put back together with jb weld had come apart. Nice looking truck, Camino. Chris

...or wait 25 years. It is what several peoplee have done with E-30 BMW wagons...irony of irony, I was driving eastbound on I-70 today and saw a BMW E-30 wagon and thought of you and the holden thing. I don't want the FBI on my ass...but I have Unofficially known of people saping vins on everything from a 49 Merc Full custom to a TDI Golf to a ferrari. That might be better than bringing in a Holeden Ute and trying to drive it. One of the guys in the VW club brought over some unusual limited production VW from Europe because he just "had to have" that car. Somehwere in the matrix of the computer system the DMV uses around here the VIN kicked out. The FBI siezed the car and madated it's crushing...but they let the guy keep every nut, bolt, washer, and unique piece off of the car. Guy then bought a stripped theft recovery Golf and built the identical car, had no trouble registering it. Shell was even the same color IIRC as the "crushed" car so the guy didn't even have to paint the thing... Chris

Caterham-Lotus, builders of the seven, use the composite approach, as does Superformance with the Cobra replica they build in South Africa. Ford sells Mustang Body's "in white" for racing, and I believe GM sells the Camaro the same way. Buy a Wrecked G8 GXP at the salvage auction, buy the body in white from Holden (or whatever portion of it you will need) and make your own G8/ST. Illegal to do, but then flip vins. Local GTO restorer did that with a mildly wrecked 65 GTO convertible owned by a guy getting a divorce. All the good GTO bits went on a 64 Lemans convertible project car, which made one hell of a 65 GTO. Divorce lawyers couldn't touch the Lemans because it was titled to the guys sister. After the divorce, the vins swaped and the 64 became the 65 and the 65 became the 64. It was just sad seeing a "real" 65 GTO convertible that was now a "64 Lemans" go to the crusher. But seriously, I think you could keep the wrecked G8's vin # and all the little #'d items that go with it. And it may be legal in PA to swqap vin plates. It was in Ohio at one point, as a friend of mine who worked for the sherrif's office that officially witnessed it being done. Something about one car being destroyed and another car taking it's place, IIRC. Chris

I don't think a lot of us will ever stop feeling betrayed. As much as I'd like a GM car for my next one, I think I'm looking elsewhere because I feel betraed. I can relate to what Camino feels. Chris

By the way, Camino, thought of you today. You said you didn't like yellow cars when I told you about the pristine Yellow 72 Corvette? A block over I saw a very nice white 71 T-top car. Also thought of you when I saw a very nicely detailed LS1 Firebird TA in red...no t tops... Stopped by a classic car dealer here in Columbus today...Studebaker Avanti convertible...one of the continuation cars, 1988 or so IIRC. Beautiful car. Other cars... A real 65 Shelby GT 350...don't think I didn't enjoy that! Also...1970 Cougar Eliminator, grabber blue A really cool looking 49-53ish Chevy truck project in a garage...shood be really nice done...looked like alot of good wrad already gone into her. Pristine 28-29 model A street rod, red, nicely frenched 39 ford tail lights, the chrome on that car was just wonderful. After getting involved with newer cars and autocossing, my love for the old stuff is coming back... Chris

I love my new sig, and can't wait to see your with the Blue G8. But right now...if I had to get a Camino it would be a 64 or maybe 6 with the good loking SS hood they had that year. Chris
