  1. Praise (the non existent) God and pass the collection plate... Nice pics. Chris
  2. I am working on developing my driving skills and no longer being Captain slow at the local auto crosses. Last time out we did pretty well... I am also thinking of building a kit car or street rod in the future, so I am trying to develop the tools (air compressor, hand tools, etc.) needed for the job. Possibly taking some classes in automotive tech at my local community college...which will be almost free since my wife works there. Want badly to buy both a diesel VW and a MINI...but want to pay cash and stay out of debt...so right now I am just chucking money away. Chris
  3. Who does have the highest post count here? Chris
  4. Nothing as dramatic as cletus...but here is our Buckeye Miata Club Indy 500 Party http://picasaweb.google.com/cruzzen/2009Bu...PHSttGSroqb7gE# The girl in the yellow shirt with the sunburn in the top row is my teenaged daughter Joanna. As you can tell from the sunburn, we enjoyed the top down driving thing a little bit too much that day. Oh, and check out how my friend Steve had his yard decorated for the party. Chris
  5. With a big thumpin big block.... Chris
  6. Way to go, dfelt! Two more awesome trucks in the C and G family. Like I told gm4life...pics! Chris
  7. Creative...I like the stance on the car, the exposed Hydraulic pumps are a bit much...Paint job is sweet... But I'd rather dump that cash into a Camaro, an older diesel GM truck as a tow vehicle, and three seasons thrashing the Camaro around road race circuits in the SCCA. Chris
  8. I just love the TDI (obviously) and really would like to see GM bring diesel tech into the US. Too bad they never really sorted out the Diesel V8's before they brought them out back in the late 70's early 80's. Those cars were great cars when they ran... TDI IMHO is about eleventy billion times more car than the Prius.
  9. Passed on... Chris
  10. GTX convertible, Orbit orange GTO must have been just amazing. The US auto industry never really was the same after about 70-71. I just love cars from that Era. Chris
  11. Cruze is not a bad looking car...let's get this baby on sale in the US. This just gets me mad that the rest of the world gets Euro toruing car racing and we get the worthless Nascrap stuff. It's enough to make me move to France... Chris
  12. Actually I think about the 370Z...but my wife and kids don't like it.... But Nissan is def. on the move. Chris
  13. Considering that of those left here posting...we could all fit into a Pontiac G3 with comfort... Let's hope we see an eighth.
  14. Piston... Chris
  15. Ford has got it going on... Another nice 1950's GMC truck and a 53-54 Ford p/u made into a very nice street rod and painted bright red... Chris
  16. I am no expert but it sounds like a wheel bearing or a brake rotor to me...plus it is probably out of alignment. Chris
  17. ...and as far as Toyota goes, second gen MR2. We used to ahve a really clean (pristine, really) red one show up to our autocrosses. Guy totaled it in November, so you can imagine my sadness when the guy showed up with a plain jane white Scion TC in its place for our last autocross. At least my Co-driver and I had better times for 7 out of the 8 runs than the Scion. But second gen MR2 for sure...and along with that last year Fiero would be a car I would just love to own. But I think Camino originally wanted new cars...sorry if this is a thread derail... Chris
  18. +1 Also...Ford Focus...as I need at least 1 normal car, and it would be a nice domestic alternative to a Cobalt. Chevrolet 4th gen Camaro LS1 (and Firebird of same flavor) I liked the torino in the movie Gran Torino...nice bodystyle Ford. Not what your looking for, but I like the pre WWII Fat Fender Chevrolet's (say 38-40 Era). Always wanted a nice SBC powered street rod based on one of these just to cruise around with my family. And yes, Solstice and HHR are there on my list as well, Camino. Drove a Solstice panel and was very impressed. Chris
  19. Rod as in Rod Stewart
  20. To me the W Body is kind of like the Mustang II-right car for the time, even though the enthusiasts may not like them. Ford sold 385,000 Mustang II's in 74 and something like 125,000 of the larger bodystyle in 73. GM has sold enough W bodies to fill the Pacific Ocean full to overflowing. I just want to enjoy the GM pics, methinks. Personally, I know a lot of people who own W bodies and love them...and while I'll never own one, the Monte SS paint schemes I thought were cool. Hopefully the Volt pulls it through for GM in the future...'cause God only knows the Camaro and CTS can't carry the whole thing. Chris
  21. Saw a beautiful light green 52 chevy Bel-Air two door post when I was out running a service call. Very well restored.... Chris
  22. I love the fastback styling on the 66-67 Charger. Not sure why those cars never caught on more with collectors, as IMHO they are some of the best looking cars of the 1960's. Chris
  23. I've found keeping the car clean and a good coat of wax to be the bet way to keep the car from rusting. Mudflaps jsut kind of break up the lines of the car, imho. Again, PICS PICS PICS
  24. ...and the Audi R8 is killer too. Need a ZR1 or a Zo6 to go with it... Chris
  25. Love the MINI and the 4th gen camaro. ...and every time I see a Charger cop car I just want one for some damned reason. Chris
