  1. ...and even back in the day, I think a 1969 V8 Cutlass W/o air and power windows (2 dr) was like 3450 lbs or so...but I could be wrong. Chris
  2. Actually the old RWD coupes (Cutlass) weren't that muich heavier than the FWD cars, IIRC. Chris
  3. ...and let's not forget that Nissan is on the move...people who want an asian car woulod be silly not to look at Nissan with its better engeneering and styling than Toyota. Chris
  4. One of the guys in my Miata club had a 97 6 speed B4C camaro and gave it to his grand daughter who is 16-17 years old. She's actually taking great care of it and loves it. That being said, I'd love a current gen B4C...would be nice if they sold them to the general public. Chris
  5. They ought to throw the book at uninsured teenagers...or anyone uninsured for that matter. My mother got rear ended by an uninsured 16 year old girl and let the girl off the hook because she felt sorry for her. Mom didn't seem to understand that if you let them off of the hook they will just do the same thing again. Glad to hear the guy is going to get another 'maro. Chris
  6. Not just yes but hell yes...to both the Volt and a state full of liberal hippies. Chris
  7. Probably very sticky tires for high perf use. Lots of people go through several sets of high perf tires. Your not buying sticky gumball tires to get 60k miles out of them... Chris
  8. Actually I like the Jetta better than the Tibron or the Genesis. Chris
  9. Would the last person out of Detroit please shut out what lights haven't already been broken? Bad news for the midwest...seems like we talked about this here on C and G a year or two ago... Chris
  10. Maybe DF can recruit the hamsters from the Kia Soul advertisement. Chris
  11. (enter Satty mode) Great, just what he needs...a car with a reach around.... (exit Satty mode) Chris
  12. Cobalt...the car just says Mother******. Chris
  13. Jesus Christ son of Mary....where did you take those pics, on a downhill run from the rockies with the car in neutral? I've known 'balts to get 35 with the occasional 40 in a manual car...but wow... Chris
  14. Go to your local SCCA region and beat the piss out of it at the local autocross, and then reward it with some nice Mobil 1 and some Mother's carnuba wax. Then go enjoy it with your family...take wifey and bambino out for dinner...wait a couple of weeks and repeat. The beatings on the Cobalts will continue until the enjoyment increases... Chris
  15. Do it in the right neighborhood and you might get some bullet holes for some free patina in the B body. Chris
  16. Actually I've seen Ions and Cobalts with nice alloys come through the local pick-n-pull autoparts. If you want I can keep my eyes out... Chris
  17. He does seem to have a thing for red. Great looking car, Cory...now you just need another Jetta as a garage mate and you'll be all set. Have a little bit of fun modding it and enjoy it, like someone else said the Ecotec's are great powerplants. Chris
  18. Which is why I just hate MOST autotrajics....they just seem to feel numb, no matter what the car is. Even a Vette or a 350Z with an auto feels a little bit numb to me. Now a Z06 with a 6 speed... Chris
  19. Hey, I'm a Mazda guy... Would it help if I told you I was in lust over the Jetta...pre wreck of course... Chris
  20. http://www.treehugger.com/files/2009/04/fi...ited-states.php Interesting synthetic diesel article Chris
  21. ...actually...now I am confused...or maybe it is because I haven't seen the Camaro I described for 30+ years...but IIRC it had a bumblebee stripe and not the over the car stripes that the Camaro does in your pic, Cubical. SS cars came with the Bumblebee stripe around the front, right? Didn't the Z cars get the over the car stripes? Or am I wrong? Chris
  22. ...and this is what I mean about the younger gen maybe preferring a more modern looking car. I would be interested in his thoughts. The Genesis is a huge step up over the Tibron. We actually looked at a Tibron before we bought our Miata...I've got to say it was one of the lesser cars I've looked at. I'm actually really starting to like the new camaro MUCH more than the new Mustang, something I wasn't thinking was going to happen. Chris
  23. ...but Verdero Green is still my fav. GM green....I've talked about it before, but down in Washington Court House, Ohio, about 35 miles from here a guy has a Verdero Green GTO hardtop that is just amazing, and an untouched survivor. You can still see the original chasis markings on the underside of the car, and the original exhaust still has some clean, non rusted areas. I wouldn't kick an Orbit orange 70 GTO out of the garage, though... Much nicer than a CRV, I think. Part of me realizes the good old days ain't never gonna come back...and the CRV actually makes me think about what life would be like without a car. The Element is also bad, overly tall and under-powered for it's size and weight. Chris
  24. Hey...also 396 powered...I remember a 71 Camper Special Longbed Chevrolet truck that used to run around outside of my old hometown of Muncie, Indiana. It was that lighter frost green you were talking about. That was a nice looking truck.... Nice how on C and G we can start out talking about Hondas and wind up talking about some nice vintage GM stuff, Vs. the other way around. Chris
  25. Can't say I blame you. I'll need to remember that color in case I ever build a street rod. That would be just killer on a 34 Ford 3 Window....or a kit Cobra for that matter. Chris
