  1. Instead of a group hug could we do a massive group burnout in the parking lot instead? Chris
  2. Getting back to cars...I enjoy Bimmerofrums, Miatanet, and SCCA Forums. Also enjoy TDIclub and VWvortex. But I rarely post on them. I love most of the guys here...just not in the Satty sort of way. DF, keep us posted on the intrepid. Since my next car is probably going to be a MINI Cooper S or a TDI Golf (GTI perhaps) I'll probably move over to North American Motoring (the MINI site). Chris
  3. It's also eco friendly because it's too ugly for anyone to actually buy.... Chris
  4. ...only if it comes with V-Tech and a 4 cyl that revs to 9 grand.... Chris
  5. I agree we should be able to get what we want. However, the automotive world is changing so fast that I doubt any of us will get what we really want. I want a Sosltice Targa...however...when I get in position to buy my next car, Pontiac will be gone and I'll have a GTI in the garage instead. Chris
  6. Sadly, I already really feel this way, sort of. Chris
  7. Actually everything here you've posted has been great, DF. Best of luck to you, DF. Chris
  8. ...and who wants to give up wages...the only thing making me keep my head above water is my wife's good job. I've lost real world wages over the past couple of years.... Chris
  9. Right now on a short trerm basis I think the Unions should make concessions. However, our greatest rate of economic growth came back in the 60's when we paid everyone a good wage. Look at the real rate of growth under Johnson and the real rate of growth under Reagan and tell me what you think. The real cure is for you to have a great design job, so you can put a Challenger in the garage next to the Dodge Intrepid. What people want to do is pay everyone peanuts, and in that world you and JessiChan will be wrenching on what's left of the Intrepid in a $h! apartment parking lot ten years from now. I am not Pro-Union...but someone has to fight for wages. Chris
  10. ....couldn't agree more, 84. Chris
  11. Hell, DF everyone is unemployed right now. I'd bet the real unemployment rate is closer to 14 or 15 percent if you take into account under employed and people who've given up looking, people working part time rather than full, etc. Chris
  12. We need writing like this. The fuel pump in my company vehicle, a chevrolet truck, took a dump on me. When AAA was droping it off of the rollback in front of our shop a bunch of passers by said that it was broken because it was "American" Right now we need all of the positive PR as can get. Chris
  13. Lucas electrical is alive and well! Seriously, I think the biggest problem with the VW is its dealer network in the US. In the VW TDI club we've got some guys who are ACE VW wrenches and all of our cars run great.... Chris
  14. I'd rather own a Jetta with a problem with a window lift motor problem than a Tacoma with a frame rust issue.... Chris
  15. ...the BPG Dealer in Chillicothe, Ohio had like 9-11 G-8's when I drove by the other day. Chris
  16. ...they can just put that Solstice Targa in my garage next to the Miata, please. Chris
  17. People in China do that for $3 a day....what are you complaining about.... When even Sushi and noodles become out of reach for us financially, maybe we'll start believing we've effed things up ourselves as a nation. The cure is to get you where you are making more than $14 an hour, not to tear down the wages of the UAW. Chris
  18. ...but they do need to update product. I for one think the wrangler is bloated. But bring me a Challenger with a six speed in Petty Blue, please. And make sure that it packs a Hemi. Chris
  19. As oposed to modern cars that look like they are built with lego's, and are so ugly that only a moron would buy them? Chris
  20. Other than the 370Z, the IS-F, and the Miata, all current Japanese cars look about like the bloated ass of a 500 lb. person. Maybe they get their design inspiration from dead Sumo wrestlers? Chris
  21. Suburu may at some point go the way of Olds, Plymouth, Studebaker, and Pierce-Arrow. Many of the smaller Japanese companies are really strugling. Mitsu is just operated here as a tax write off...if Japanese tax laws ever change, they may stop bringing cars here altogether. Chris
  22. Sad to see teh Jetta and the F-Bird wrecked...good luck with your future cars, dude. Chris
  23. I'm all for giving the automakers help but it almost should be in the form of a hands off one time grant, IMHO. Chris
  24. ...well...I am an El-Camino fan, and GMC made a version of the 'Camino IIRC. Not really a truck, more of a car, wouldn't mind having one of those.... Chris
