  1. Thinking more and more a MINI might make it into my garage...and yes, you'll notice that I didn't list the American flag as an option. But since Canada and Britain have had closer ties, somehow a Canadian flag doesn't seem wrong.\ Hopefully she didn't get the sport suspension or it will ride a little rough... The white wheels kick butt, though... Chris
  2. A nice, clean Buick is waiting for you, Pauli. Things will get better. I've noticed that you have a certain passion for life and what you do, and passion has carried me through lots of tough times in my life. Probably not politically correct at all for a father to say, but I actually hope my children enjoy sex. I want my daughters to find great guys and get the screwing of the century. And this is my hope for you...a screwing by a great guy IN the Century.... I still laugh my ass off when I think about your post about the guys butt and the horn when you two were parked. Keep kicking, dude....we here at C and G are pulling for you. Chris
  3. Hey, vonVeezelsnider, I think about you, Carbiz, Harley Earl, and all of the other Canadian posters here every time I go to a Columbus Blue Jackets hockey game and see the Canadan flag. (assuming we're playing a Canadian team) ...and then I cuss the Canadians when we have our ass handed to us. Actually, we are improving....slowly. Chris
  4. I'd actually like to see the G5 concept evolve somewhat. I think there is a market for a car at a price point between the Cobalt and the MINI. The Cobalt is a low dollar, low profit car...local paper has 2009 autotrajic Cobalts for under ten grand. GM can't make money at that price. But if they could go about a third more expensive than the Cobalt and package the car nicely, I think that there would be a market. Not everyone is into dropping 25k into a small car and buying a GTI or MINI...but Volkswagen does get loyal buyers for the Rabbit. Pontiac needs a piece of that pie. Chris
  5. Actually, in 1921 GM thought about killing Chevrolet, saying there was no money in/market for the brand. I'll wager they are glad they didn't do THAT. Chris
  6. I'm just the opposite, the checkerboard is the must have. Although the Union Jack is cool also. If I were Canadian, I'd put the Canadian flag on the roof.... Chris
  7. If one could fit into it. I think the Aveo would be a better car for NYC. A Miata top is easily slashed (unless you get a hardtop) and a MINI will draw attention to itself and invite theft and vandalism. The Aveo is very easy to park, my mother has one. Double parking is a breeze. The MINI and Miata are two of my fav. cars...but I love GM also. Chris
  8. The SUV is a very, very bad idea. Off topic, but this is why I think it is a bad idea to kill saturn. MINI and Scion are pretty much one hit wonders...Saturn has established itself as a decent brand with a sports car, creative compacts, crossovers, family cars, etc. I'd like to see Saturn live, but methinks I'm in the minority here. Chris
  9. I love it when cars are left in colors other than red, black or blue. Gold FTW! Chris
  10. I'd prefer it without the sunroof...but yes, one of my top 5 modern cars, for sure. Right now I want to have a three car fleet-1 Japanese car, 1 American car, one Euro car. Chris
  11. THe G8 is growing on my on a daily basis. Pontiac just builds such cool V8 cars. I saw a yellow GTO (modern 2004/2205) the other day God, I want a V8 car back in the fleet again. Sixty Eight, do you think we could rob a bank and perhaps buy the Pontiac Wagon that Camino just posted??? Chris
  12. Damn, if I had cash right now I'd buy that thing. That's cool! (warning, off topic) I miss both of my Chevelles, and that thing is almost cooler. By the way, Camino, I woke up at three ayem the other night thinking about your wagon, the sedan delivery discussion we had, and your old phantoms thread. I think a cool phantom GM car would be this-68-72 Buick wagon, made 2 door like the 64-65 Chevelle two door wagons, and then made into a deluxe sedan delivery of sorts. Paint it yellow, light green, gold, etc. and put narrow white stripe bias ply tires and dog dish hubcaps on it with the buick logo and make it look like a factory one off or low production car. I would even cover the seats with clear plastic and put parking permits decals from the local catholic church in the rear window...anything to make it look like a low mile, survivor, Buick sedan delivery. Probably just ate wayy to much tex-mex before I went to bed, but I can't get this idea out of my mind. (back on topic) I really hope someone gives this sweet old wagon the home it deserves. I would love it just as much as an Olds, BTW. Oh, and a question...Buick built A body wagons as well during the 68-72 era as well, right??? I believe they did, It's just been forever since I've seen one. Chris/66
  13. Which is why nearly every carmaker builds damned good stuff now. Go randomly buy any car from Kia, Hyundai, Benz, Mazda, GM, Ford, or whoever...and it will run 100,000 miles plus probably, and probably 200,000 miles plus. You can't survive in the car buisiness today as a dumbass...but you can make all kinds of internet posts as a dumbass. (enter sarcasm mode) GM is sooo stupid...which is why they've managed to stay in buisiness through two world wars, a depression, the 70's, the 80's, the 90's, etc. (exit sarcasm mode) Chris/66
  14. (Warning, slightly off topic rant) As a fanboi of small cars, I wish the Quad 4 had worked out better, without the head gasket issues and other issues. An Olds Calais with a Quad 4...now THAT was my kind of Oldsmobile! My old across the street neighbor had a very low production Beretta (GTZ maybe???) with the quad 4 and a 5 speed. That car suprised a LOT of ricers...it was kind of a Q ship of sorts as it was black and kind of a "low" profile car in traffic. But it drove just awesome...I had a chance to buy it from him and sadly didn't...and I know I'm rambling...but I've seen Qud 4 motors do amazing things at autocrosses and in SCCA style racing. I've talked here before about the Quad 4 Calais that was the Terror of the SCCA ITS class at Mid Ohio for a few years. GM has done some things really, really right in their own way. (end of off topic rant.) Chris/66
  15. Glad to hear it worked out well. Caliber would not be my first choice of a car to replace the Rabbit. The Audi 5 Cyl. in the Rabit is quite robust, you may very well be able to pay the car off and drive it forever, almost. Even with the cost of repairs, it may still be much cheaper than buying another car. Chris
  16. I'm old fashioned from a tech point of view. I want a vintage Nikon "F" Camera, which is fully manual and takes this thing called film. I have an ancient 13" TV. Last time I watched a full lenth TV show, it was spring. I enjoy hand tool woodworking. I could be very comfortable living in 1845. I am profoundly glad I don't have a blackberry. Chris
  17. Airstream
  18. My bad, should haved said I like "them" I MUCH prefer the G6. Both are nice though, and I hate to prejudice your decision if you like the other car better. But IMHO the G6! Chris
  19. Trailer park girls? Chris
  20. We need to invent a time machine and bring back the Pontiacs of the 1960's. Some of the coolest cars ever built. I always loved the Dashboards in 60's Pontiac. To me, they just screamed "class" for some reason. Bring me a 1964 GTO, please. I saw two Edsels on the road, of all things, on a crappy, rainy day in Kentucky. Both two tone, both two doors. Also saw a second gen, late 70's Camaro Z-28 on the road, bright yellow and seemed to be factory paint and a regular car still in service. It's really rare anymore to see a second gen Camaro...around here, they seem to ahve even disappeared from car shows. Chris
  21. +1 Chris
  22. 2.4 Turbo is a great motor. Chris
  23. Okay, I am in lust... Chris
