  1. That's because your getting out of school and your life is getting better. Chris
  2. But you have some very nice GM Heritage in your garage! Chris
  3. #1. While my Guitar gently Weeps, the Beetles #2. Symphony of Destruction, Megadeth #3. Won't get fooled again, by The Who. What would you say the best three are, and how do you fill out the rest of the top ten? Chris
  4. Back to the subject of cars...here is the purpose of this thread. Post weird, unusual, or just plain cool old cars one usually doesn't think of. Here's my first pic...very rare MG. http://www.britishcarforum.com/bcforum/pp-...duct/840/cat/23 Chris
  5. Happy Birthday...Go buy an old Cadillac! Chris
  6. It's too bad the Astra never took off here at all. I have seen exactly, um...1 in the last 6 weeks on the road. They have some really cool varients in Europe. Wish they sold those here. Chris
  7. He is a pompass ass...but once in awhile he is funny as hell. Nice to see the Corvette get a little respect from an American car hater. IIRC he blew up a C4 from a helecopter.... Chris
  8. He is a pompass ass...but once in awhile he is funny as hell. Nice to see the Corvette get a little respect from an American car hater. IIRC he blew up a C4 from a helecopter.... Chris
  9. I remember at one time I had almost 200 built....amazing what being a car nut can do to you. I swear, cars are like crack...addictive.... Chris
  10. Oddly enough after having been involved in the Miata community for over ten years, I only know of one guy (local SCCA/Miata club guy) who is "gay" and owns a Miata. Most of the gay people here in Columbus, Ohio are VERY domestic oriented. The partner of the woman who runs an antiques store I frequent drives a second gen Scion xB, but she is the only openly gay person I know (other than Blackviper with his VW and Oldsmoboi's BF with his Honda) who drives an import. Actually, I think the Sky/Solstice twins have about the broadest market penetration of any of the roadsters. Not sure why you think they wouldn't get good penetration in the gay community. Chris
  11. Agreed on the Fiesta. Chris
  12. Suziki, Mitsubishi, and Isuzu can fail IMHO...none of them bring that much to the table in terms of product, other than the EVO. And you can't build a long term business on a low volume sports car unless your Lotus, Ferrari or Morgan. ...and last I checked Mitsu ain't Ferrari. Chris
  13. After a screwed up election, an economic collapse, a housing market collapse, the collapse of the domestic auto industry, and assorted other human stupidity...it feels about eleventy billion years long. I'll almost be glad to watch Ohio State get its ass handed to it by Texas...because it will be 2009 and 2008 will be over. Chris
  14. Nice looking burnout....nice looking Corvette.... Chris
  15. Sounds like a nice trip, Bob. I also find 747's beautiful. Actually, designing the 747 and bringing it into production in the late 60's almost bankrupt Boeing IIRC. A good book came out on the development of the 747 about 6 years ago...and now I can't remember the name of the book. My father turns 70 on Januray 21. Time is Not with any of us. Chris
  16. I actually like Japan and have been there twice, once for two weeks and once for a month. They seem to have a low quality of life...they work VERY hard and VERY long hours, have commutes that would be well in excess of someone in Atlanta or L.A., etc. It would be nice to see them be less workaholic and more human. They would enjoy life more, I think. Chris
  17. http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/081226/as_japan_economy.html Enjoy. I don't like seeing anyone suffer, but it seems the Japanese might be in for some real trouble. Chris
  18. I would like a Suburban as a tow vehicle. I like a little weight in the back and a little longer vehicle to tow with. Sylvesters car is a good buy. Chris
  19. I really like that Imperial... Chris
  20. You just can't beat a desert car. If I ever get another older car, it is going to be from the southwest. Chris
  21. I don't want to clutter up the Lounge or any other forum with discussion of individual classic cars...but this is so cool I just can't resist... http://www.californiaclassix.com/archive/4...Dodge_c154.html Sixty-Eight, are you paying attention? Chris
  22. That thing would bring at least two grand around here, I think...as a plow truck if nothing else. People buy these things, along with the ASTRO/SAFARI vans for running crews of hispanics to construction sites if nothing else. C'mon what did you pay? Chris
  23. Too bad Chryco can't stay in doing just minvans and a couple of Jeep products. I mean, BMW, Lotus, MINI, Smart, etc. are niche brands that do fine...why can't Chrysler become a niche brand? Chris
  24. My old gym teacher Alex Barron had one of these when I was in high school. It was a nice looking car, dark green, two door, black vynal top, hyde-away headlights, etc. I always enjoyed seeing that car come into the parking lot at school. Sixty-Six
  25. Or this, set up for showroom stock SCCA racing... http://sccaforums.com/forums/thread/330576.aspx Chris
