  1. Like I've said before, 2009 will be just as dismal. Hopefully in 5-8 years we see a revival of American cars and some cool new features and styling. Chris
  2. Now if we could just bring back the Pontiacs of the 50's, 60's, and 70's, we'd be doing really well. Chris
  3. Happy Birthday. Chris
  4. Actually listening to a lot of old Dixieland Jazz right now. Chris
  5. In your shoes, I almost like the idea of a Rubicon better than the idea of a new Camaro. Chris
  6. +1 on the Cobalt being a good looking car. I've been working upstairs in a few downtown buildings, and watching Cobalts drive by in traffic. Other than niche cars like the MINI or 1 series BMW, there isn't a whole lot available today that's really better looking. Chris
  7. WMJ, that ragtop would be sweet...maybe even sweet enough, restored to break sixty eight of his love of traditional hardtops. (Just kidding 68...) Seriously, though, Cadillacs of that era are amazing. Chris
  8. (enter sarcasm mode) Any chance you'd adopt a 43 year old son to help you enjoy that car? (exit sarcasm mode...sort of) 66
  9. I love the MINI, but your right, the interior is a little overdone. We do work with a fab shop that makes trailer hitches and other parts for MINI's. A LOT of MINI owners feel the new interior is a little overdone. Chris
  10. The Rubicon is more hard core off road. If I'm going to spend the money for an off road vehicle, its going to go off road. The I-6's were sweet. I've always been an I-6 fan...BMW, 240Z, so many cool cars came with I-6. Including the old Chevy/GMC I-6. I've seen some awesome resto's and retro rods with an I-6 Chevrolet...and those things ran forever. Like I said, top down...summer...my kind of thing. Chris
  11. +1 for the Accord being smoother and better than the Altima. Chris
  12. My 18 year old daughter has decided, after watching the emotional pain of a bunch of her friends, that she doesn't want tot date or get involved with a guy. But she takes a lot of flack for choosing to stay single. My mother quit going to church, because my dad doesn't go and she felt awkward not being part of a "couple" Our whole society says that you have to have someone to be happy...but really that isn't the case at all. My friend Kevin was single and loving it...sadly he died in Iraq a few years ago. Chris
  13. Actually thought of you today, Pauli. Very nice, New 2008 LuCerne in the paper for $18,500 from a local dealer. That car needs to be in your driveway. Actually, you need another Buick I think. A 70-72 A body Skylark ragtop, in a color other than red or blue. You really do need a stress buster, and as a convertible owner, let me tell you, there is nothing better than getting off of work on a nice day and putting the top down. Besides, a LOT of the guys in the local Lambda car club drive ragtops. There is an utterly beautiful 64 Lincoln 4 door ragtop in baby blue that is in the gay pride parade here in Columbus every year. Think of how good that 71 Buick would look in a similar event on Long Island. Your biggest problem perhaps is that you think too small. TWO buicks are always better than one... Chris/66
  14. I am enjoying this thread also. MikeyMo, I thought you were gay...how is it you enjoy boobies and titty f@#king? But I could be wrong. Chris
  15. Dude, you just gave amazing, irrefutable proof that you are wierd enough and whacked enough to post at Cheers and Gears. Glad to have you here, my friend. Chris
  16. +1. Amazing that the biggest money wasters in all of our society are asking the buisiness people of the big three to be frugal. I wish we could put congress under the same scrutiny that we are putting the big three under. That might solve a lot of our problems right there. Chris
  17. Glad to see the diesel selling well. Now if they would just bring over the Sirocco. Chris
  18. When I bought my 70 Chevelle back in high school, it still smelled of the perfume of the wife of the previous owner. Since I was a typical horny American teenager, I would say THAT was my favourite air fresh. But I use a pine scent when I put up an air freshener in my car. Chris
  19. I don't know about steam from exhaust pipes but there is a lot of hot air surrounding certain Asian cars... Chris
  20. Oh, and I feel the same way as the writer in the link Camino posted-the G8 really does bring back the feeling of the old Pontiac. Chris
  21. But for those of us who remember the Pontiacs of the 60's and 70's, the Pontiac name has a majical touch... I could live forever on a planet where the only cars were 60's and 70's Pontiacs. Seriously. Chris
  22. Equinox- Glad to see the 85 Caprice is being preserved. I love cars of that Era... Chris
  23. Cerebis isn't going to and things are going to get very, very ugly in Toledo, OH if the Jeep plants close. Think about the people that are about to get out of work and the massive wad of absolute utter $h! that is about to fall down on this country, dude. You (smk4565) seem almost happy that Chrysler is going by-by. While I'll admit Chrysler cars aren't my thing, I do believe in an open market and free competition. Killing off the domestics will mean much less competition and much less need for the Asians and Euro's to build solid, enjoyable cars. Chris
