  1. Well, I just came from the Chevy website, and they've got a "build and price" and "customize" (with dealer accessories) section up, but darn it, you can only build a crewcab so far, extended and regular cabs aren't up yet. Those 6 spoke, retro-look 20" accessory rims and the cat-back exhaust system look awesome.
  2. Well, I wouldn't have gone on and on like this if I didn't care. I hope that much is apparent. Yes, I am hopeful because this is such a wonderful opportunity for GM to win back the hearts (and dollars) of buyers looking for authenticity and real substance. Designing a distinctive skin for each brand shows that the corporation cares about the people who have been loyal, while affording an opportunity to give more buyers more choices, hence increasing chances for conquest growth. Heck, look at all the sheetmetal variations in the GMT900 lineup... it is not that expensive to sufficiently brand a vehicle.
  3. reg, "reading comprehension", learn it, live it, love it. I said (and it appears in the quote), the car does not have to be retro. I thought my inclusion of two new, distinctive and "pure" Pontiacs would also have been a clue. :AH-HA_wink:
  4. At the first sign of inappropriate questions, in this day and age of enlightenment, a 16 year old kid should have known what was going on and simply did what he finally did at the end of this lengthy conversation... "I gotta go." And shut off the computer. Instead, he answered painfully personal questions over a period of minutes that are totally off the radar of propriety. Foley needs to be punished, he's the one with the problem, but that kid naively enabled him in a way. The whole thing just smells bad. And why is it just now coming out, with crucial elections next month. Did someone sit on this until the time was right?

  6. Ugh, gag me with a spoon. :AH-HA_wink:
  7. Ugh, Scientology, eh? Is it true, L Ron Hubbard perved on kids? That makes me hate Tom Cruise even more. Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but if the kid is 16, the predator is not exactly a pedophile, correct? Isn't there an age cutoff per the definition of the term? Yes, of course it is sick and wrong for the congressman to have done this, but I think there is a different technical term for this type of predation on a child of this age. In the transcript, the kid should have just logged off much sooner. He stayed engaged in the conversation far too long, imo. At 16 years old, he should have enough maturity to realize what was happening and simply cut the old perv off.

  9. New Zealand's not that far away. You could drive there. Anyway, you seem more than ok with the Erik situation. There'll be others, you'll see.
  10. Damn, I never should have put a cap on my truck. That Astro Body is way mo sexy, yah?
  11. No, like the '63 Grand Prix, '66 Catalina 2+2, '67 GTO, '70 GTO, '70 Firebird 400, '06 Solstice, or '06 G6 coupe. It does not have to be retro, it just has to be a continuance. It has to fit the brand. Pontiac is not Holden.
  12. Thanks for confirming what I've been whining and crying about in the Commodore/Pontiac thread, Northstar. Like always, the newest Holden looks like a mimic of a generic US GM car from 10 years ago. There is no denying the excellent chassis and interior, but the visuals just aren't there, especially for a US brand that has been identified with visual excitement since, oh... 1959. Take the ridiculous wing off the back and what do you have? It's like seeing a business man in a suit, tie, and sneakers.
  13. Jefferson, I can't help, but I wanted to put this back up top to see if anyone else can.
  14. A very respectable machine. Best of luck with it.
  15. Sounds like a good time for divorce court. :AH-HA_wink:
  16. Was there a '61 Impala two door sedan? I thought all '61 Impala two doors were "bubble tops", hardtops, but I saw a really nice black '61 Impala two door post sedan with Chevy Rally wheels with early center caps on the highway. It was a visual treat.
  17. It would be a tiny car I wouldn't be ashamed to drive (yeah, I know, I said the same about the Yaris...)
  18. Yup, definitely an Optra/Forenza.
  19. I would say that is a Suzuki Forenza (a GMDAT product), with a snazzy Buick nose. Judging by the rear half of the car.
  20. When you look at it in a full frontal aspect, it looks like a Forrest Gump-like character, with close-set eyes, a buzzcut, and big floppy ears. Sorry. The rest of it isn't bad.
  21. No lie: the shooter was my mom's boyfriend's cousin's daughter's husband. Way too close to home. Of course I never met the dude, but when my mom told me on the phone... horrible.
  22. I like it, but I think I'm going to like the new Liberty more. The 4.0L V6 needs to be the new base engine in the LX cars, and it should be in the Dakota as well. I'm sure it will show up in the Grand Cherokee, Commander and Liberty.
  23. Yes, I am sure a google search will bring up "Kanuder valve".
