  1. Thanks for confirming what I've been whining and crying about in the Commodore/Pontiac thread, Northstar. Like always, the newest Holden looks like a mimic of a generic US GM car from 10 years ago. There is no denying the excellent chassis and interior, but the visuals just aren't there, especially for a US brand that has been identified with visual excitement since, oh... 1959. Take the ridiculous wing off the back and what do you have? It's like seeing a business man in a suit, tie, and sneakers.
  2. Jefferson, I can't help, but I wanted to put this back up top to see if anyone else can.
  3. A very respectable machine. Best of luck with it.
  4. Sounds like a good time for divorce court. :AH-HA_wink:
  5. Was there a '61 Impala two door sedan? I thought all '61 Impala two doors were "bubble tops", hardtops, but I saw a really nice black '61 Impala two door post sedan with Chevy Rally wheels with early center caps on the highway. It was a visual treat.
  6. It would be a tiny car I wouldn't be ashamed to drive (yeah, I know, I said the same about the Yaris...)
  7. Yup, definitely an Optra/Forenza.
  8. I would say that is a Suzuki Forenza (a GMDAT product), with a snazzy Buick nose. Judging by the rear half of the car.
  9. When you look at it in a full frontal aspect, it looks like a Forrest Gump-like character, with close-set eyes, a buzzcut, and big floppy ears. Sorry. The rest of it isn't bad.
  10. No lie: the shooter was my mom's boyfriend's cousin's daughter's husband. Way too close to home. Of course I never met the dude, but when my mom told me on the phone... horrible.
  11. I like it, but I think I'm going to like the new Liberty more. The 4.0L V6 needs to be the new base engine in the LX cars, and it should be in the Dakota as well. I'm sure it will show up in the Grand Cherokee, Commander and Liberty.
  12. Yes, I am sure a google search will bring up "Kanuder valve".
  13. WMJ: "My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard..." :AH-HA_wink:

    Just an Idea

"sketcher of the year..." You still talking about shoes v. Millenia?
  16. That is a Kanuder valve.
  17. Ew, no. Viper's a little bro, not a sex thing. I wasn't going to even respond to this because of the political ramifications, but now that my name has been brought up... :AH-HA_wink: The dude should be dealt with, but no more harshly than if it were male on underage female harrassment. Either way, it's just not right. Any of his colleagues who let this go on knowingly should also be held accountable.
  18. I'd like to come to Hershey if the weather is decent.
  19. The Eos is kind of cute, but WAY, WAY overpriced for what you get. I'd say it's about $8-10k overpriced. It would be a stellar value with a cloth top, well equipped for about $25k.
  20. I'm still not sure why people keep saying LX buyers "don't care" that the car is RWD. I have not seen documentation.
  21. Chevrolet is my first love, but they are doing fine, and seem to be on track for their very own, clearly branded Zetas. Pontiac is my second love. The division holds a different, but very important part of my heart. If this news article holds true, it appears that GM is not investing in dedicated design for Pontiac, but sees the division as worthy only of a rebadge for a car that is of (imo) paramount importance to the longterm health of the brand. I said I was going to simmer down, but I haven't been able to. Oldsmobile died because of poor management. I don't want to see a second failed attempt to import an Australian car and badge it a Pontiac held up by GM management as "proof" that the brand is better off dead. I dearly want this car to succeed, and to do that, I feel it must fit the brand, it must look the part, even if it drives fantastically as the recently departed GTO certainly did, and does.
  22. Why would anyone insult a Wagoneer?
  23. Now is not the time to lose focus on design. Now is the time to hit them out of the park. The GTO was rushed to US market and was met with pretty much a collective yawn... due to styling. Even with the solid RWD chassis and awesome LS V8. That's enough to prove to me that brand DNA is of paramount importance. It's the enthusiasts that start the buzz and buy the first cars that hit the ground... that's how word gets out.
  24. I'll have to agree with those that say it needs its own front end and side sculpturing instead of cribbing the Camaro. The rear end is sweet. I hope Chevrolet doesn't dilute the Camaro image by making the Impala simply a four door version of that car. They've already gutted the Monte Carlo name by doing the same thing.
  25. Thanks moltar, our monthly car spotting thread. '07 Monte Carlo SS, Victory Red with silver stripe package on a dealer lot.
