Be interested in researching previous gens of GM trucks. Have they always had staggered intros? I don't think so. Let's start with 1973, since there was a wider choice of configs starting with that redesign v. the '67-'72 light duties. I think the staggered intro started with the '88 downsized fullsize trucks, where the old style was rebranded as "R/V" for the heavy 3/4 and one-tons for a while until the heavier new style trucks were ready. Actually what I am referring to is not only a GM truck phenomenon. Most new vehicle intros stack high trims onto the lots first. Heck, some vehicles even have high-priced "launch editions". You will be hard-pressed to find a Ranger Supercab right now, for example. They are, by and large, Lariat and high-optioned XLT SuperCrews.

This thing is dear as heck. Transit Custom Nugget!

1984 Fiero Spyder concept. Factory job. Two prime examples of Pontiac engineering prowess that were smacked down by corporate.

Well I won't begrudge them a profit. BUT they make plenty, regardless of trim level, even on the $39,930 Silverado WT regular cab 4X4 I want. A mix right off the bat would better serve the customer, imo. Honda dealers have plenty of $35k Passport Sports on the lots already, alongside $44k Elites.

Blazer seems fast though. I would not order the 21" whills, I'd stick with the standard 20". I think it's a better looking whill. The optional 20" black whill on lower Blazer trims is way too generic/aftermarket looking. In lower trims, the Ford is definitely the nicer vehicle. I love the optional machined/black whill on the Edge.

Ha, cannot read the script.

Well to be fair, just like any new design, the highest-price trims are put on the lots first to try to bait the early adopters. Sinister plot.

Polestar 2 Unveiled Ahead of Geneva: Comments
ocnblu replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Geneva International Motor Show
Still looks like a Volvo... only in a movie where it had to be genericized. Needs a lower-price, entry-level model. Maybe call it the Polestar Stripper.- 25 replies

GM is finally discounting the new trucks (of course the crewcab shortbed is the one they're pushing). Anecdotally these trucks are still a rare sight on the roads round these parts.

Cadillac Custom Man Martian. Rare bird indeed!

Ooohhhh... a "helmet-top" cab. Why does that intrigue me?

Well, the mood around it, being what it is, is pure gloom. So they are brilliantly keeping it real.- 25 replies

Chrysler News: FCA Expanding Michigan Production Capacity
ocnblu replied to Drew Dowdell's topic in Chrysler
This is concerning. I'm reading this and wondering where the new Journey is, where the new Durango is... FCA needs to keep these models, as they are not Jeeps, meaning, a Jeep should not be covering the same customer as a Journey or a Durango customer. The Dodge customers want a people mover with AWD capability, but gritty, street style. Those are not Jeep attributes and should not be. A Jeep should remain outdoor themed. -
Well when you go to Amazon.com, the home page recognizes you, but asks you to sign in, I click that and it takes me to the sign-in page, where I am greeted with the fake email address, as if it is mine. It's like my account has been hijacked, and by clicking on that to get in, how do I know the Russian who did this won't gain access to more of my info? Won't that be like opening a door for the hacker? It's in a Prime mailer, I am not signed up for Prime. EDIT: I hit "sign in" this morning, and my credentials appeared. When I clicked on it, it indicated "no account with that sign-in info", so I created a new account. So of course it does not know me, all of my Amazon history is erased, so I can't check recent orders. It is like my old account was taken from me for a bogus order. So I will call my credit card company I guess and make sure I wasn't charged for this.

Looks like my Amazon account was hacked. Today I received what appears to be an apparatus for women to wear after they've had a double mastectomy. Of course I did not order it. Now when I try to go into my account, some random email address appears. A couple of days ago, I got an email from Amazon confirming my wish to change my password and associated email address, and I never requested any change in my account info. I cannot find a customer service telephone number on the Amazon site. Plus I don't know if my card number on file for them was used to make this purchase. Not sure who I can call to remedy the situation. There is no packing slip inside the mailer.

The struggle was real. So many times, overruled by corporate. Sigh.
