Blah blah blah, Good Lord. Quality has nothing to do with technology. And... John Deere has been around since 1837. If they weren't a quality brand, they'd have been gone. Do not diss John Deere to me, mister.

"Cable operated hvac controls" what in the world are you talking about. Who cares. Dead reliable, likely cheaper to repair than a whole electronic control unit.

The Golf/GTI are, rightfully so, at or near the top of the European sales charts. Been that way for decades... it mystifies me why such a nice car doesn't sell for crap over here. As nice as the Mk VII is, I don't see that changing here in the U.S.

Last year, VW sent me a survey letter. One sentence stood out to me: "At Volkswagen, we are working hard to improve the quality of our cars." I do have to say that judging from my experience with my car, aside from a design flaw in the intercooler system, the car has been trouble free for the first 20k miles. Something I could not say about my '02 Golf, 2 '98 Beetles or my '00 GTI. So they did their homework, at least on mine. I am not sure if past sins are dogging VW, or if other people are still having issues. That reminds me, it is time for my 2nd oil change, to be paid for by VW. I am going to try to drop it off over there in the morning before work.

What exactly is wrong with the Malibu? Seriously? Why is everyone jumping on this bandwagon of hate toward this car? The only thing that sticks in my craw is the bulgy taillights, and that is by no means a deal breaker.

April is done... weather's warming up. Time to break out the sunglasses and spot some hot stuff! Post it here, your cool, or just unusual, vehicle spots.
-
Well it is past time to start a new car spotters thread. This one has had some good stuff as normal, but it has also been polluted with off-topic crap.

If I were a little bit more masochistic, I might look at a City Express... but I would insist the dealer switch out the crappy CVT and stick a Muncie 4 speed manual in there. With that teeny weeny brake pedal, there is plenty of room for a clutch next to it.

I appreciate the fact they've done away with the black plastic quarter panel appliques. These newest pictures are pleasing. I see TRU140 in the front end. If they give us a coupe that is not too trendy in design like the TRU was, I just might give it a hard look if a Colorado proves to be out of reach.

Similar to the heads of Tesla buyers, but I digress.

Chevrolet News:More In Store For The Chevrolet Colorado
ocnblu replied to William Maley's topic in Chevrolet
An Amarok regular cab is a dreamboat though. With 4WD, a TDi, six speed manual, and knobby tires, it would rule my world. It still seems ridiculous to me that GM will not sell a regular cab midsize truck here in America. First and foremost for fleets, then, since it exists, sell it to individuals in all trim levels. In a heartbeat I would be certain I would own a reg cab Z71... but having not seen prices, and knowing how grossly inflated Silverado prices are, I am concerned that an extended cab Z71 Colorado will cost $35k... too rich for my blood.- 16 replies

Until I see the new baby Ram van to make a final judgement, I do declare the 2014 Ford Transit Connect the best looking miniature van by a long shot.

The interminable wait is finally over. This is a great day for candy van fans. And it is sooo much nicer than the NV200. Simply an amazing transformation.

I filled up today. 41.6 on this tank. Going to turn over 20k miles this week. You can look forward to ever better mileage as the miles rack up, and with warmer weather approaching.

Ahem Impala. Anyhow, back on topic, I saw an old BMW 5 series with a Lincoln Mk VII diesel engine in it chugging through the grocery store parking lot. And a late 40's Dodge two-door sedan in black. Immediately made me think of a late model Benz E-class coupe, because the quarter windows were divided similarly.

I think it's going to be a good day in Philadelphia, enjoy yourself sir!

Cool, yup, that's it! Only these were hooked up, unlike your photo. Thanks!

Clapped-out AMC Eagle wagon in red, still chugging. Mid-60's Olds Starfire, on the highway with me heading to York this morning. I swear it had exhaust ports exiting the quarter panels... was I dreaming? Will need to google.
