  1. Not that I don't like the new Silvy, but I am glad the Colorado went its own way in front end styling.
  2. It's already been stated that weight is an issue. And AWD is not part of the formula in this class of car.
  3. ... that have had a little less than 100% effect...
  4. Widely considered to be the expert on diesels in cars.
  5. A production version would necessarily be toned down a bit. I love the hark back to the legendary 510 and I want them to build it. It appears to be much more livable than the Subaru BLT, for example.
  6. It was showing 32 degrees this evening when I started my diesel car. For about 20 seconds, it huffed and puffed and sputtered. A gasoline V6 sounds like such a nice respite at this moment in time.
  7. There's a white Sierra 2WD shortbed reg cab not too far from here. Base model, but with power windows, positraction, stainless clad wheels, etc. - Truck Month price is $25k. Economical 4.3 motor.
  8. Yeah, I have admired the Amarok from afar since it came out. It is a handsome small truck, and with VW diesel power, very competitive in the segment. I wish they would have found a way to sell it here years ago.
  9. Take 'er easy!

  11. I am going to try to nurse it through the summer. Want to see '15 Colorado Order Guide soon. Let me know if you get a back door scoop on it.
  12. Well, I am at the one year mark of ownership with my 2013 Volkswagen Beetle TDi. At 17.3k miles, it remains fun to drive, with sweet diesel torque and excellent fuel mileage. First really nice day of the season yesterday, so I cleaned it up to look it over. Front end is, sadly, chipped up pretty good from my highway commute, I need to touch up some things. And I found two door dings, resulting in dents and chips in the right front and rear fenders (steel this time around, older Beetles used plastic fenders). My intercooler icing issue has been 98% fixed, but that will be a thing to forget about with Spring approaching (HOPEFULLY). Only other negative thing I can think of is a buzz in the dash under certain running conditions, seemingly related to an RPM range. My earlier VW's, all bought new ('92 Golf GL 2-door, two '98 Beetles and a '00 GTI 1.8t) had multiple issues requiring repeated visits to the dealer before this time and mileage. I can say, in my experience with this car, that Volkswagen has improved greatly over what they've been before.
  13. Initial shock and awe is overwith for me. It is a sweet looking little vehicle. However I am scared of Fiats with regard to reliability. One can hope that a Fiat-Chrysler collaboration will result in something good, but I am just not sure. Time will tell. Meanwhile, the Patriot has done away with the CVT in non-Trail Rated versions (my only turn-off regarding my 2012, along with short cruising range and 21 MPG average), opting for a 6 speed automatic or a trusty manual... and the Patriot is venerable and reliable, despite its rough edges.
  14. Thanks, yeah. I wish the Colorado page would evolve a bit. I need more info. Does anyone else have a problem with GM's "build and price" sites? Every one I go to does not respond correctly... they're CRAP. Could it be at my end? I use Firefox.
  15. would prolly whip an E-class off the line

  17. I've been under the influence of a wild thought all week. A black bumper Silverado 4X4 regular cab shortbed in Blue Granite... one option: G80 locking rear end. Modified by me with Cragar Soft 8 black steelies and LT265/70R17C BF Goodrich All-Terrain T/A KO tires turned black side out. In stock at an area dealership for $27k. Would it be wicked cool, or no? I'm thinking YES IT WOULD.
  18. ew, an attempt to sully an otherwise happy thread
  19. I have to hand it to Mazda for not straying from their message, and these new ones are so well styled. Really well done. Before I bought my VW, I was considering a 2 as a commuter car.
  20. Hey Sal
  21. I'm loving this little truck. Can't wait to get a closer look at one. Jeep's Renegade page is up, for those interested.
  22. Cool... unlike the Lincoln Mark VIII parked back there... don't drive it unless you want your SPINE COMPRESSED.
