  1. I really want to see how much a Chevy Trax LTZ AWD is going to cost.
  2. Coincidentally, I was into Subaru's "build & price" site last night, scoping out the Outback. It's all CVT all the time now... meh. Local dealer has a few, maybe I'll ride out there sometime today and snoop around. JANET RENO
  3. What is with this slow roll-out with transmissions? I understand they want it to be right, no warranty issues, etc., but they seemingly do this every time they bring out a new trans in the trucks. This should be out ASAP in everything from Colorado to HD3500.
  4. 18 year old puffed up driver. Half a load of soybeans. Narrow bridge on a curve. Overcorrection in an attempt to keep it in one lane in case of oncoming traffic. Load shifted. Spilled said load, ended up on roof. Windshield gone, grass flew in and sharp, triangular blades of the combine soybean harvesting head we kept in the cab flew about my ears and eyes in a blur. Soybeans a foot deep on the road. First two vehicles on the scene were a motorcycle (that could have been bad) and a Chevette. Chevette spun its way through. Soybeans are like ball bearings. Don't try to walk. It was repaired with an entire cab, front clip and wooden bed. I was in trouble for a long time.
  5. LOVE THIS NEW LENNY KRAVITZ!
  6. My mother will probably love the ForFour. I say that because she loved her Le Car back in the day. She put 104k miles on that thing without a care, except for the exhaust system that went rusty.
  7. Yup. We got one in yesterday.
  8. Tasteless Hyundai Tucson Walking Dead Edition. Who would buy this?
  9. Hyundai is far from perfect.
  10. Yeah, I saw a base one in bright blue on the road a few days back.
  11. Yeah, our old F-600 and 700 farm trucks had a 2-speed rear, with a red button controller mounted on the main gearshift. I believe they were '70 and '71 F-600 in different shades of green, and the red '75 F-700, that was the one I rolled.
  12. Black Cruze diesel. Parked, the unique wheel design gave it away, I squinted and sawr the green badge on the trunk lid.
  13. This tank included a (mostly) highway trip to Assateague National Seashore in Maryland, about 300 miles round trip, although I was stuck in a traffic jam, mostly full stop for about an hour trying to get there. My work commute is 24 miles each way, mostly involving highway speeds of about 75 mph going in, 65 coming home, I might stop at the gym some weeknights, involving a longer drive on the highway, then urban and suburban coming home from there. On the weekends, I might go to the gym or drive around urban and suburban retail areas, or to a hiking spot.
  14. Next tank: 613.8 miles, 13.268 gallons @ $3.76/gal. 46.261 MPG.
  15. Scar, I think that's a Suzuki Jimny. I was sitting at a red light today on the way to work, and, from right to left, a bright red with black wheels 2015 Mustang with no visible license plate drove by at the intersection. Jaw dropped.
  16. Schizo car lot cruise... stopped at local Buick/GMC/Honda/Acura store to look at a '15 Fit (saw none after driving by and seeing one there a few weeks back), ended up drooling over a base trim, dark red Sierra shortbed reg cab 2WD with posi and electric windows. Dreamed of a 2" rear end drop, black wheels and Goodyear Fortera Triple-Tred tires (I love their tread pattern, had them on my '07 Sierra and they were great.)
  17. Appreciate the update.
  18. smk, there are plenty of opportunities for synergistic economies when spending money on R&D.
  19. Here I am in a Cummins regular cab 4X4 SLT with six speed manual and big ol' mud tires/dream
  20. Buick has small, medium and large (relatively) sedans already tho.
  21. Customers love crossovers right now, smk. GM is just giving them what they want.
  22. Well I hope you guys are having fun. Spy on some good looking Germans for me.
  23. I think the new '14 3 looks impressive. Easily the best looking car in the class. Quite a turnaround from the recent, "toofless grin, maniacal clown" look. But it got expensive. That's where the market resistance lies, imo, certainly not in looks.
  24. VERY cool. Is that a McLaren? Also, I didn't realize the crazy time zone difference between the US and Germany. You're 5 days behind us back home here?
  25. Before I bought my VW, I test drove an XV Crosstrek with manual. I went in expecting to love it... a practical hatch with good fuel mileage, AWD and a manual. But I just couldn't get into it. I thought it rode rougher than my Patriot, and I was constantly looking for another gear. Oh well.
