  1. Grandfather's was a 6, with 3 on tree, IIRC.
  2. I appreciate the dagmars in the front bumper. Overall, crazy, in-your-face and totally appropriate.
  3. Love the continued use of Ventiports, they're an intrinsic part of the brand. And cool, a red interior option.
  4. My grandfather had a '69 Nomad.
  5. Those are factory S-10 pickup wheels. Come on, Camino... you KNOW you want it! I didn't realize they still made a Greenbriar in 1970. It appears to be a base model, judging by the seat upholstery.
  6. Wow, that is a nice one, Camino. I always liked those.
  7. I like the Raptor, but I haven't seen too many here in SE Pennsylvania. I think Dodge should build a Raptor competitor, and so should GM.
  8. A real jaw-dropper, Moltie. Full of swagger and moxie... in other words, fully appropriate for a Cadillac.
  9. Well, a lot of vehicles sold in the US are built in Mexico. Besides Ford, I think Chrysler and GM have plants down there. In addition to Volkswagen, and others I can't think of right now. I support Mexican plants because they employ Mexicans... so they don't have to cross the Rio Grande, set up ramps at the wall to try to drive a Cherokee over, and cross into our country illegally. If the plant is run correctly, I see no reason why vehicles can't be turned out down there of high quality. Suburbans and Ram pickups have been built down there for decades, IIRC. BUT... why this is publicized is beyond me. This is like advertising that your brand new car meant to save a storied brand... is junk, fixed with band-aids. SAD.
  10. Dude is very talented, imo.
  11. I like it for this class of vehicle. And three pedals? SWEET.
  12. Well, what I mean by "mechanical" is, I love to stand outside the car and listen to the diesel clattering away. I love the 2-door body. I love the VW driving dynamics. I love shifting for myself. The fact that it's black, and black VW Type 1's (Beetles) have such an iconic coolness about them dating from way back (counter culture, 1950's). It is no appliance It is no toy This new bodystyle just reminds me so much more of the original car, which is timeless in design, not "cute". I can be going 60 mph in 6th gear, step down on it some without downshifting and be at 80 before I know it, and I don't even hear the engine rev, it remains quiet, using diesel torque to just pull. Autobahn bred, clearly. Yes, of course I am still in honeymoon stage. And so far, my reverence grows each time I get in the car. It imparts a sense of value and permanence. I give you all permission to use my words against me if things change, but right now I feel this vehicle is a perfect fit for me, and for many moons to come. I will shut up now.
  13. That too. People who buy Wranglers KNOW what they're getting in to, for the most part. This is a ridiculously asinine complaint list.
  14. Oh my God, a 3/4 ton 4X4 pickup truck has a HIGH STEP-IN? What a failure!
  15. First tank: 43.8, which included a 220 mile highway road trip. Second tank: 43.3, strictly a work commuter tank with errands on weekends. Paid $3.84/gallon for diesel today. I'm starting to think this is not a fluke. This car makes me feel I am driving something of value and substance. It feels like a little tank. It is mechanical, which I love, but also quiet and refined. It makes me want to see how far I can go on a tank. Not out of necessity, but out of pure curiosity and wonderment. Very pleased so far.
  16. Sounds like an excellent plan. I am looking forward to seeing these. I hope they look better in US trim than the international Colorado we've seen.
  17. Dodgefan is wielding his spoon on a couple of those.
  18. Yup, load o' crap about sums that up.
  19. Perhaps they'll hire some additional Native Americans at the Toledo plant to help keep up with demand.
  20. That XTS hearse is the sexiest last ride I've seen. It would certainly be the funeral car to have if I were in the market.
  21. This sounds like an awesome powerplant. People buy European luxury cars all the time with mediocre fuel mileage, I guess Cadillac's just going with the market. This engine in the XTS, with AWD, should be a sweet combo, too. But the CTS is the one to have. With its '75 Seville taillights.
  22. Wicked. I like it!
