Seems cool except for the stinkin' hybrid powertrain. If they can manage to productionize the design without losing too much of its dramatic flair, it should be cool. -

They haven't used the 8.1 in years, at least since before the '07 redesign. I believe the 4.8L is the standard engine in all half tons except for the base W/T, which still uses the 4.3L, but the 5.3L is an option in all half tons. And the 6-speed is standard and only available on the 5.3L and up.

Well, part of the problem is, the manufacturers don't seem to put their best technology into their smallest cars. Interested in seeing the mileage figures for the 2014 Spark with CVT over the current, outdated 4 speed auto. Wish GM would put a 6-speed manual in the car as an alternative to an auto. I found my Fiesta to be a perfectly fine small car to drive. All it needed was a 6th gear for more relaxed highway cruising. And it was plenty roomy for me. This Beetle suits me to a T (Di). It has plenty of power when I want it, and great economy when I need it. A big part of the entertainment of driving it (aside from that hard to quantify VW "feel") is watching the numbers tumble so far forward on the "average consumption" readout on the dash. It definitely does not feel cheap or compromised in any way to achieve such high MPG. -

Great news. We knew GM is usually awarded with the most patents of any company in a given year, and it seems Arizona's environment attracts the right atmosphere to make things happen. -
I wish paler yellows were more widespread. I much prefer them to "Highway Department" yellows that are more prevalent nowadays.

I do believe Mr. Dart drives a lot of miles, IIRC. Hopefully his troubles are not a preview of common issues as these cars age. :/

Late model Fiero fastback, painted dark green metallic, with a nearly flush wing spoiler and widened rear quarter panels over wide rear wheels. It was in beautiful condition, and I could hear the 60-degree GM V6 burbling away.

If, no when a new CTS coupe arrives, hopefully the increased size will allow room for a decently delineated deck line that is not higher than the driver's sight line. Egregious.
