  1. Meh, but thanks. I'm glad you're excited.
  2. When an entire car can be powered by a battery the size of the one in my Patriot, your argument will be valid. Until then, pfffft.
  3. My local dealer has the "same" car. I agree with caddycruiser, it looks great in person.
  4. Sounds cool to me! If we can keep it from being an "Electra 220" we'll be in good shape!
  5. One major problem with the design for me. It's not in production.
  6. Let me know if you need part numbers for your wagon or El Camino. That goes for anyone.
  7. Well, I'm not sure I want a battery providing structural rigidity. On a FWD vehicle, the motive mechanical parts are all up front. The fuel tank is under the back seat occupying negligible territory, and the exhaust system does not require a hump, the floor could be flat if the vehicle is engineered that way. I would prefer a RWD layout myself, with a floor hump and a differential under the back seat along with that gas tank. Zero tailpipe emissions, perhaps, but I think automotive emissions standards are already pretty stringent, moreso than power plants. What about the mining of materials used in battery manufacture, and all of the surrounding effort to extract and transport the raw material to the manufacturing plants (from finding minerals, to transporting workers, to earth moving machines, to ships, trains and trucks), and the disposal of all these batteries when they die?
  8. Use good grammar, it will get you farther in life. Batteries can and do explode.
  9. Bronze Age
  10. There are PLENTY of drawbacks to pure electrics, son.
  11. You sly devil... that green Catalina Brougham Coupay made something move.
  12. shrinkage
  13. So far, the only MINI variant I do not care for is the 4-door countryman. I am thankful to see a 2-door CUV hit the market. I also like the baby Land Rover 2-door.
  14. I'm going to professionally grade this A+!
  15. ah, he's the only one I met
  16. on the fringe
  17. Finally, the Chevrolet Malibu hits the mainstream. (What an ironic statement).
  18. Nobody wants electrics. It would be a misappropriation and a missed opportunity to use the name on something worthwhile.
  19. I find these two compact GM wagons to be very classy. And there are a lot of Jetta Sportwagens and Elantra Touring wagons in my urrea, plus a good number of Focus wagons. Even a few Cavalier wagons left running around, including one square-front one ('88?) that's been turned into a Z24 by its devoted owner, distinctive 60-degree V6 burble and all. Yes, I know a tide has turned, but when I look at these and see how nice they look and how they'd match the maneuverability and fuel mileage of a sedan while having comparable cargo space to a similarly-sized CUV, I wonder how this happened. It was the car companies telling people what they wanted, and customers fell in line. A shame. What if GM built an "All-Road" or "Outback" version of the Cruze wagon, with AWD, the diesel, and a six-speed manual? It would be awesome.
  20. Fix Or Repair Daily ...is another classic!
  21. When you hear one of these or a GN Buick pull up to a christmas tree, it's awesome, the sound. And then they fly, and what you hear is that fierce whistle of the turbocharger above all, and it's like you're at Cape Canaveral. So yes. Yes please sir.
  22. Cruze hatch is honestly a bit frumpy compared to Focus and Elantra GT, but both of those wagons are quite handsome. I'd like to see a Cruze wagon since Buick is getting the little Encore here. Come to think of it, the Cruze hatch in its frumpiness reminds me of the AMC Encore hatch of yore, haha.
