  1. He also has a little pony named Duntov.
  2. Well, in hindsight, after the introduction of the big block in... 1958? Up to then it was Chevrolet's ONLY modern V8... but what became the smallblock was intro'd in '55. Here's to 100 million more!
  3. Thanks, Chris.
  4. Yup, I just edited my earlier post.
  5. Thanks folks. I will add it to the garage as soon as I can pose it for pictures.
  6. dfelt, I want to wish you a happy belated birthday sir. I hope you enjoyed yourself. I'm trying to keep up with these threads, I like doing them. So, did you do anything fun?
  7. Nice photos, Mr. bobo! I guess Croc didn't go?
  8. Very nice, less trendy, more timeless in design than the unnecessary fussiness of the Toyota. Of course, Subaru is all about no-nonsense design. Good job.
  9. Ridgemont High
  10. Good looking truck there, Daryl. The optional all-terrain tires really complete the 4X4 look of these trucks, imo.
  11. Neat as a pin. A very large pin.
  12. Perhaps. But I'm always more content in a 4X4 than any of my cars. Kumbaya.
  13. "Cleanup on aisle 7 please..."
  14. I think it's a vastly improved car this time around. The 1.8t engine should do great in this car, along with the 2.0t and TDI. I think it looks much more macho than before, and I owned 2 '98s back in '98, before it became a chick car... to me, at first, it reminded me of a baby Porsche. This new one much moreso, though. Love the squared-off roof and shallower dash with 100% nicer materials.
  15. I am glad GM is giving these poor folks an ICE-powered car as a loaner.
  16. Yes. Good car, just not for me. Wanted to get back into a 4X4, researched small crossovers, found the attributes I wanted in the Patriot.
  17. I brought home my new Jeep tonight. Details coming soon.
  18. Gun went off.
  19. Now see, those Corollas were not for old ppl. Toyota should make the Corolla in a bunch of bodystyles, like back then. I'll bet this one is scary, whoa dude. Wicked motor.
  20. Well, I am for some sort of lining in the trunk. It keeps noise down and protects the quarter panels from push-through dents from shifting cargo. These small openings, however, are not productive at all. Look at that XTS trunk opening photo in bobo's picture. Sure, it has 18 cu ft of space... but how accessible is it? It's like a mail slot and you're trying to put a suitcase in it.
  21. Good boy, Zora! And that old girl is looking regal with the flags on the bumper. I'm sure this is an emotional event in your family, selling Dad's car. The best to you all.
  22. Oh, I've been poking around its back door, too. It has decent room back there for camping gear and such. The Fiesta was good because it was a wide open hatchback. The Cruze is a sedan with a good-size trunk that's hard to access. The Jeep Patriot has 70% US parts content, plus 18% Mexican (transmission), that's 88% NA content. Cruze has 60% US content, with the transmission being made in Austria. I am for keeping Americans at work, and Mexicans at work in their homeland. It's got heated seats and mirrors, remote start, sunroof, 368 watt Boston Acoustics stereo and a whole bunch of other stuff, for a 25,405 MSRP. An Equinox, Terrain or Escape with those features would be $5k more, at least. And it is an IIHS Top Safety Pick, so it is not giving up anything to the others in safety. I love GM. Maybe a little less than before they shut down Pontiac, but I still love 'em. They just do not make a vehicle like this, a small crossover with top all-weather and all-terrain capability in its class, with excellent value and projected good resale value for the class. Jeep has made so many improvements to this vehicle since its introduction, I've been impressed.
