  1. I like this better than the platypus-like CR-V, the smaller Honda SUV also has a totally incongruous side window line in relation to the roof shape... I've said that from when we first saw it, yet... it has gone on to become the best-selling SUV on the market here in The States.
  2. I like it except for the bizarre headlights and the angle of the shifter, which seems to be at an unnatural horizontal angle for smooth operation. The quarter glass' beveled sheetmetal surround says "Jeep Liberty" to me.
  3. It's pretty, better looking than a garden variety Passat. Some elements of the design appear to have been tweaked off a regular Passat with some kind of photoshop... it's like the taillights, for example, were "dragged" with a computer mouse into their exaggerated shape. That interior is de rigeur for VW... a class act. I am scared to hear how much this thing costs.
  4. Congratulations to Chevrolet on a fine product!
  5. If it's FWD, yes. It would fit as a SAAB.
  6. Sixty8, that is one badass Rod. Love it. Wildman, that is a cool, Twilight Zone idear, sir. Do everything in period dress... the GMC with 50's handpainted lettering, your outfit, the Imperial, impeccably restored, and it should be a foggy morning as you appear out of the mist...
  7. *crickets chirping* *tomato flies by jcgable's head pretty close*
  8. I'm sure that could change in 6 months' time. :AH-HA_wink:
  9. This is what Ford needs in the US, among other things. Very nicely done, and we need the 3-door bodystyle here, as well. This is a car that will make people want to downsize. It is downsizing without downgrading.
  10. "Mini Cooper, BMW 1-Series, and Audi A3." Small, premium cars that bend toward performance as much as luxury... Pontiac Country. Buick? Good Lord, no. SAAB? Not with RWD. Such a car is a good idea, to be sure, but it's gotta be branded properly.
  11. Now, didn't that make you feel good? Doesn't it make you want to preserve the old girl so she holds her value until you can pass her on to someone who'll be excited to own a lady such as she? Cool story, Vipes.
  12. Congratulations on the new Pontiac, sir!
  13. If this isn't THE best example of why a FWD Impala is just... not right, I don't know what is. GM has to be embarrassed by this. How is this car even remotely collectible? Who will care about it in 20 or 30 years? NOBODY. Powers That Be at GM... look at this car with a straight face and say this is not a letdown. I dare you.
  14. Big deal, it appears to be nothing more than a Camry Matrix.
  15. FANTASTIC!
  16. Yes, it seems to have been done before... this is an attempt to recast an image for Pontiac as they transition to all-RWD, it is Pontiac, reinforcing their values, reaffirming their philosophy. I see no harm.
  17. Mocha with Saddle leather, 3.6L DI/six speed manual. Oh man...
  18. Love the look, inside and out. The engine upgrades and coil spring rear suspension are cool. The side compartments seem to steal bedfloor space, but are a good idea for most buyers who would rather have easy access to things they'd otherwise have to crawl into the bed to retrieve. Needs a 6-speed automatic, and it should have had the 4.0L V6 standard.
  19. "Along with the Right to Bare Arms..." I totally agree with this sacred right. (You are talking about being able to wear wifebeater t-shirts, right?) :AH-HA_wink:
  20. Now see, that is Chevrolet's natural role as America's Brand. Gotta love good ol' Chevrolet Power.
  21. Bitchin'.
  22. The shop is more likely talking about the unibody frame rails, not the bolt-on subframe. Those gap pictures are somewhat telling, but don't look too bad from here. The car should probably be put on a frame machine and measured to determine the extent of the damage.
  23. '79 Caprice Classic coupe in gray/black two-tone with red interior... sweetness.
  24. Yeah, I was at my BPG dealership, and "my" salesman mentioned the G8 is due in a couple or three weeks. I wanna see this thing.
  25. Very pretty car, but you'll have holes in the bumper from that license bracket. Someone's wearing flip-flops in January! :AH-HA_wink:
