  1. A burning Aztek wouldn't upet me.
  2. Seems to me I've posted my own version of this article over the last few weeks. Nice to see I'm not alone in my "opinions" and impressions. Thanks for the post.
  3. Good thing you noticed.
  4. Never heard of GM building a RWD Impala of this gen, certainly not 25 and certainly not released to the public. They did, however, build at least one RWD Monte and AFAIK, it is still around. Yup on My Dad's Firehawk, SLP almost decided to crush it for liability reasons. As to the RWD stance thing: I can see what you mean but I just don't like these cars very much - so it doesn't help the car's case for me.
  5. I believe that the yellow car is a '71 or '72 Chevelle. 68, this kind of post kills my 56k limited connection. I only got to see some of the pics, but I feel just as bad for these cars as everyone else.
  6. Happy Birthday! You are a pillar of C&G. Hope it's a good one.
  7. Perhaps we can steer this back to the topic of the perils of being #1 in general. I don't want to lock Tama's post. So, let's hit rewind.
  8. Hmm, I noticed a shift in how engine compartments are painted by looking at my 2001 Silverado in comparison to my 2005. The engine compartment was fully finished in the 2001 and just "dusted" in the 2005. Something in the process must have changed.
  9. Even a piece of obvious humor turns into a pissing contest with you guys. Unbelieveable.
  10. My first suspect for the rattle would be exhaust system shielding (annoying but not a crisis). That stuff loves to rattle.
  11. The Tahoe is a homerun, for the first time it looks better than it's GMC counterpart.
  12. Entertaining.
  13. What if you could fill-up at your local GM dealership? :AH-HA_wink:
  14. I'm cursed with eternal dialup too: it's do-able.
  15. Agreed. An actual strike would be another story though.
  16. Not opinion, observation. These cars generated "buzz" and enthusiastic articles along with an excited willingness to talk at length about them on the part of their owners. I have seen every one of these cars at local car shows and cruises as new cars. I have yet to see a single new Toyota show -up. When was the last time you heard an owner of a Camry extolling the virtues of his car at a show?
  17. Rule #1 DON'T GET CAUGHT!
  18. I see an uphill battle to get assistance from GM on this one. Also, determining exactly what happened is critical. Did this happen all at once? Did the mods contribute to the failure? Was there a defect from the start? The 3800 is known for reliability, so finding out what the problem was should be job one. If the mods couldn't have caused the problem(I think they couldn't have) and the warranty is still in force, you may have a case. The fact that you've already torn down the engine hurts your chances though. See the SEMA website for the guidelines regarding aftermarket parts and OEM warranties.
  19. OK, let's take this down a notch. Let's not do any racist joking and can the personal attacks. I've been working too much -don't make me grumpy.
  20. Croc hits my main objection with his post. I can see extending the GP's run a while but another entire generation as a FWD makes me ill.
  21. I get it, but there are things to like and things to dislike in that lineup.
